[Bug 616149] Re: huawei e160g automatically attached as usb-storage only (but not as modem, as well)
Sorry for the delay in answering, I finally managed to install the first beta of Ubuntu 10.10 (with usb-modeswitch already installed) and usb-modem autodetection seems to work well on my laptop. Curiously, on a (quite old) desktop of mine it seems I have to plug the key *before* booting the OS, or the problem above reappears... but maybe it's something unrelated with the OS (I'll check). So thanks for now and, should some problem come out, I'll make a report. Regards. -- huawei e160g automatically attached as usb-storage only (but not as modem, as well) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 616149] [NEW] huawei e160g automatically attached as usb-storage only (but not as modem, as well)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: udev Hi, newly installed Ubuntu maverick 10.10 (development branch - alpha 3) and found a little nuisance that IMHO might have something to do with udev (version 151-12). When huawei e160g usb key is inserted a device for the USB Mass Storage driver is regularly created (e.g. in /dev/sr2) but no device for the modem part is created (e.g. /dev/ttyUSB{0,1}). On the other hand, everything worked well in Ubuntu 10.04. In fact after inserting the key, in dmesg there's no trace of ttyUSB or similar: [ 6636.060028] usb 1-6: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3 [ 6636.285853] Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... Re: [Bug 422709] Re: Karmic sound does not work after hibernation
I have updated the kernel yesterday and the hibernation do not work anymore (so the wireless :-( ). Because of that i can't really test this for hibernation, but i have already tried once during the mid august and it did not made the sound work again. Anyway, suspend now works, and the sound is off after suspend, but if i issue the command: sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart the sound work again. I will report the other bugs mentioned above soon. 2009/9/14 lino pasquale.muse...@gmail.com It is probably a naive question, but did you try to restart the alsa service? sudo /etc/init.id/alsa restart or sudo /etc/init.id/alsa force-reload -- Karmic sound does not work after hibernation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/422709 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. [Bug 330906] Re: MASTER: GMA-500 lacks driver for 8.10 and 9.10 (poulsbo works only on 8.04 and 9.04)
I am experiencing the same problem on Karmic, with an eeepc 1101ha. I am also experiencing a very slow video performance. It was unusable around 15 august, but then an update made it a little bit more usable, but i can't for example render a video properly. I read the entire discussion about resolution, but I think the performance is related to that also, am I wrong? What I get from this is that if Intel does not release the drivers in a proper way, we won't have any better support for this graphics card? -- MASTER: GMA-500 lacks driver for 8.10 and 9.10 (poulsbo works only on 8.04 and 9.04) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330906 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 422468] [NEW] Shutdown fails after sucessfull hibernation (Karmic)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pm-utils Sometimes when I put into hibernation my asus eeepc 1101ha does not shutdown. If I wait after hard-drive let stops blinking and shutdown manually, the hibernation resumes properly. This problems only happens after some hours of use. If I reboot machine and hibernate, it does very well shuts down the machine and works properly. It might have something to do with the bug #22606 I think its also related (thou I can report another bug if needed), but sometimes, when waking I have the same problem. It can sucessfully awake, or stop on the grub screen that says Bootting Linux. I know it will work when it changes to the sentence Loading... otherwise, if it just stay on booting, the awake does not work. Rebooting the machine by force, might end on same problem, or sucessfull awakening. [Bug 422709] [NEW] Karmic sound does not work after hibernation
Public bug reported: When I start the machine (asus eeepc 1101ha) the sound works as expected. But after hibernation it just stop working. Sometimes it shows no error at all, but sometimes the rythmbox shows an error by displaying a red sign right of the music name, and an error message. (by the time i report this bug i could not reproduce the rythmbox error so i could sent it :-( I tried also another sound applications like espeak, that also shows or not error message. In both times, the sound just not play anything. If somehow the errors shows up I will send it.
