[Bug 1762084] Re: Touchpad right-click is not working
tweaks does not fully fixes the problem. In 16.04 I've had (and I've used) both functionalities: two-fingers tap and right bottom touchpad area click. Now if I enable area click in tweaks, the two-fingers tap stops working or vise-versa. This is regression bug introduced in 18.04. {I am not a natiove speaker, so please forgive the low accuracy in the subjective description below} One more test that may provide information: After each compiz reload (compiz --replace), each Window move is snappy _exactly once_. This means that when you click-n-move a Window for the first time after a compiz reload it moves nicely. But the second time (and later), it is lagging behind the cursor. Amending #16: as indicated by #10, disabling gpe01 indeed brings kapcid down to a normal CPU usage, even if gpe01 is still reported as enabled. [Bug 577702] Re: ACPI errors at boot (HP 8540w Elite Workstation)
Aside this regression (kacpid taking ~100% cpu), there is another change in 2.6.34 that null-ifies a previous workaround: the xhci (USB 3.0 module) that does not support suspend/resume was renamed xhci_hcd in 2.6.34. Adapting accordingly the content of the files /etc/pm/config and /etc/pm/config.d/00sleep_module fixes the suspend/resume (but not the kacpid taking 100% cpu) # https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/522263 # https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/522998 SUSPEND_MODULES="xhci xhci_hcd" The above mentioned work-around to disable IRQ's on GPE01 does not work (even run as plain root instead of sudoer). # echo disable > /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe01 # cat /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe01 29441enabled ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing -- ACPI errors at boot (HP 8540w Elite Workstation) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/577702 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 577702] Re: ACPI errors at boot (HP 8540w Elite Workstation)
The root cause is a broken ACPI BIOS. I fixed both remaining problems by settings "FAN always on while one AC power" in the BIOS (which is the default value). [Bug 489736] Re: Kernel upgrade does not update initrd.lz on a live usb
I have the same error message using install from scratch (official Lucid, not one of the alpha or the beta) on an HP 8730w mobile workstation (x86_64). I get the initial boot screen (select language & boot options), then after a while, I get something like (sorry, probably not the exact error message): (initramfs) Unable to find a live filesystem image I get this error message both booting from the CD-ROM or from the SD- card reader. No way I can reinstall the system from scratch. This is a regression from previous alpha/beta/rc: My system was previously installed using an ISO image from those previews. I was willing to re-install from scratch using the clean published version, but this does not seem to work. Anything else I can provide to fix this, please let me know. Finally, please not that I am not sure this is exactly the same bug.. the message is pretty short. -- Kernel upgrade does not update initrd.lz on a live usb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/489736 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 539997] Re: Nvidia driver activated but not currently in use
confirm the issue (HP 8730w). Lucid beta2. This problem did not happen in alpha1, x11 was broken on alpha2, it did not happen on beta1 & now shows-up on beta2... Remove both drivers, then activate "current", then reboot... to have it fixed. Seems very hard to get rid of the NOUVEAU stuff. -- Nvidia driver activated but not currently in use https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/539997 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 548846] Re: in netbook remix, emacs23 but not emacs22 sizes wrongly in initial full-screen opening
Also confirm this problem. This is not a regression wrt/ past Lucid UNR versions: all of them are affected since the first alpha. Thanks for the Alt+F10 work-around: the only one I found so far was to un-install it & prefer emacs22, which looks ugly these days... -- in netbook remix, emacs23 but not emacs22 sizes wrongly in initial full-screen opening https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548846 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 354220] Re: asyncq.c: q overrun, queuing locally
I did not test with the latest alpha, because that would require upgrading my personal productivity system to a non release version. That being said, I no longer see these error messages. They likely were fixed by some update. Here are my new versions: virtualbox-3.13.1.4-57640_Ubuntu_karmic (upgraded since pb) pulseaudio1:0.9.19-0ubuntu4.1 (not upgraded since pb) linux-image-2.6.31-19-generic 2.6.31-19.56 (upgraded since pb) Pb automagically disappeared. Either fixed in kernel/vbox or worked- around by vbox team. You can close the defect as far as I am concerned. -- asyncq.c: q overrun, queuing locally https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/354220 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
