[Bug 1790608] [NEW] [snap] Libreoffice does not open files from thunderbird (more general: from /tmp)
Public bug reported: I received a document via e-mail in Thunderbird. I have the Libreoffice snap package installed. When I want to open the document from Thunderbird, I see the Libreoffice splash screen, and then a dialog stating "/tmp/mozilla_0/.docx does not exist." The same dialog appears when I navigate to the folder in Files and want to open it. When I copy the file to my desktop, however, I can open it without problems. I guess the source of the issue is confinement, that the Libreoffice snap can only access files from $HOME. Public bug reported: When I choose one of the "Send → E-Mail Document" options, an email message (thunderbird) opens with the correct subject, but no attachment. [Bug 1247033] [NEW] Pandoc hangs with --bibliography option
Public bug reported: When calling pandoc with the "--bibliography" option, it hangs (i.e., it runs forever and does not produce output). This issue was present in earlier pandoc packages in Ubuntu, but could then be fixed by installing additional packages on which the bibliography feature depends (see http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/faqs.html#pandoc-hangs-when-i-try-to- use---bibliography). In 13.10, it hangs despite these packages being installed. When installing pandoc through Haskell’s own package manager (cabal), it works fine. So I guess that this is again a packaging issue and pandoc does not find some required files for citation processing. There is another bug report regarding the saucy black screen issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1237843 Since this bug is marked as affecting saucy and raring, I guess that it covers two separate issues: The SecureBoot issue that also affects raring, and the black screen issue that only affects saucy. Given the current state of discussion, should the other bug be marked as a duplicate, or should it be marked as affecting saucy? [Bug 919899] Re: There is no sequence for c-acute
I just discovered a work-around that is easier than setting an environment variable (GTK_IM_MODULE), but effectively does the same: In the text field where you want to type, e.g. gedit, right-click and select “Input Methods → X Input Method” from the context menu. So this behavior seems to stem from the default input method, IBus. This might explain why editing the files under /usr/share/X11 had no effect. [Bug 1189382] [NEW] Misleading icons for “Keyboard” and “Keyboard Layout” in Control Center
Public bug reported: Control Center has two settings panels for keyboard related settings: “Keyboard” and “Keyboard Layout”. The icons used for these panels are misleading, as they suggest exact the opposite content: - The “Keyboard Layout” icon depicts tree keys, two of which are connected by an orange line. This suggest something like “keyboard shortcuts”, where you combine two or more keys to trigger certain actions. But shortcuts are part of the “Keyboard” panel. - The “Keyboard” icon depicts a whole computer keyboard. This suggests that one can configure the keyboard as a whole, i.e. its layout. Thus, I would suggest switching the icons used for these panels. P.S.: One could also question the categories these settings belong to: Personally, I would expect the keyboard layout to define the “Hardware” aspect of the keyboard, while keyboard shortcuts are more of a “Personal” setting. P.P.S.: A related, but different bug is #883256 which suggests merging these categories altogether. [Bug 1168457] [NEW] Character limit does not respect selected services
Public bug reported: When posting new messages, the character limit does not take the active services into account. E.g., when having twitter disabled and only posting to facebook, the limit of 140 characters is still applied. Gwibber had the same bug, it is bug #522986. [Bug 1152606] Re: SideKick / ErrorListPlugin version mismatch
I guess the issue is that ErrorList 2.0 and above require jedit 5.0 or greater, while Ubuntu ships 5.0pre1. However, SideKick should not be updated to a version requiring an ErrorList version that is not installable. So the issue seems to be partly on jedit’s side (not smart enough plugin depedency resolution during plugin updates), and partly on Ubuntu’s side (shipping a pre-version). [Bug 1102067] [NEW] Webapps do not launch when Opera is the default browser
Public bug reported: I am using Opera as my default browser. To use the webapps, I installed two of them (facebook and launchpad) via Firefox. However, if I try to launch these apps from the dash, noting happens. When I set Firefox as my default browser in the system settings, I can launch the webapps. I assume that the unity-webapps-runner looks for the default browser, since webapps are meant to work in either Chromium or Firefox. This leads to issues when none of these two is the default browser. Maybe there should be a fallback, so that Firefox is used when neither Chromium nor Firefox are set as default. ** Affects: webapps-applications (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1102067 Title: Webapps do not launch when Opera is the default browser To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webapps-applications/+bug/1102067/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 980234] Re: Gourmet package does not use vector icon
I am sorry, overlooked that: They seem to have added it lately, so it is not in the version that is in Precise.
