[Bug 72029]

2014-10-03 Thread Futurepilot-0
Still present on Kubuntu 14.04 with KDE 4.13.3. Closing all Dolphin
processes and SIGINIT'ing kio_archive is the only way to end it.

[Bug 1173349]

2013-06-15 Thread Futurepilot-0
This may only be a workaround and not address the actual bug, but I
removed ~/.kde/share/config/plasm* while logged in through a console
only. This resets all of the plasma settings back to the defaults. I
reconfigured everything back to the way I had it and I have not had a
crash since (3-4 weeks). It's a big pain but it's better than having
plasma-desktop crash almost every time I get a notification or switch
windows.

[Bug 134310] GeForce2 Go + Nvidia driver causing system freezes

2007-08-23 Thread FuturePilot
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Using the Nvidia proprietary driver causes the system to randomly freeze. The
system is not responsive to any input at all. I have been successful in
reproducing the freezes though by changing the orientation of the wallpaper
around (centered, tiled, zoom, etc.) The open source nv drivers work fine.
However, this problem does not exist in Dapper. I have the Nvidia 9631 driver
installed on Dapper and have never had a problem with it freezing. This started
with Edgy and is still present in Feisty and looks as though it's still present
in Gutsy. Here's what I have tested out:
Ubuntu Dapper+9631: No freezes
Ubuntu Edgy+8776: Freezes
Ubuntu Edgy+9631: Freezes
Ubuntu Feisty+9631: Freezes
Ubuntu Feisty+9639: Freezes
Ubuntu Gutsy+9631: Freezes

I do not believe this is an issue with the driver since it works
perfectly for me on Dapper. Something changed between Dapper and Edgy
and has not been fixed.

[Bug 124568] Firefox does not restart after installing extensions

2007-07-07 Thread FuturePilot
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: beryl

After installing an extension or theme in Firefox and then clicking the Restart
button, Firefox fails to restart.
Running Firefox from the terminal and then installing a theme or extension
produces this
The program 'firefox-bin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 446 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

However, I am only able to reproduce this with Beryl running. Everything
works fine with Beryl turned off.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have Beryl running and start Firefox
2. Go to the Firefox Add Ons page and install any theme
3. Click Restart
4. Firefox will not restart and if run from the terminal will produce the error
above.

[Bug 118716] Gnome panel memory leak when using custom image

2007-06-04 Thread FuturePilot
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Gnome panel starts to leak memory when using a custom image on the panel
in Gnome 2.14

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the System Monitor and take note of the memory usage of gnome-panel.
(It should be about 15 MB)
2. Right click on the panel and go to Properties
3. Click on the Background tab and select a custom image. (I've attached one
for testing)
4. Repeat for other panels if present
5. Leave the image set for 4-5 hours. You can still use the computer normally
during this time. Just do not log out or reboot.
6. Open the System Monitor again and take note of the memory usage of
gnome-panel. It should be approaching at least 100 MB if not more. (I've seen
it close to 300 MB at times)

This only happens when using custom images or themes that place an image
on the panel. It also is not limited to Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 as it seems
to happen with Debian too. The problem seems to be solved in Gnome 2.16
and 2.18

[Bug 34247] Re: Trash always empty.

2007-05-18 Thread FuturePilot
I have the same problem. The trash applet shows it's empty and it even
says No items in trash. But when I click on it to open the trash there's
stuff in it. It seems to be random too, because a few times I actually
saw it full.
