[Bug 1414003] [NEW] Thunderbird import function does not work

2015-01-23 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

The import function of Thunderbird does not work.

When I click on Tools/Import and choose "Import Everything" and click "Next"
then I greeted with a screen where I should choose where I want to import from
("Import Preferences, Account Setting, Address Book, Filters, and other data
from:") and below is all empty, nothing to choose.
I click on the "Next" button and absolutely nothing happens. The button is
active and the click happens, but nothing. I have waited and nothing happened.
I can close the window with the "cancel" button or the window close "x" but
can not go further.

I want to import Outlook data, but do not get to the point where I
should choose.

I am using UBUNTU 14.04 and Thunderbird 31.4.0

[Bug 1355714] [NEW] blueproximity is not working

2014-08-12 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

I have installed blueproximity in Ubuntu 14.04. It installed without a
problem. When I tried to start it nothing happened. No GUI comes up,
no error message, no crash report, nothing. I manually triggered this
report.

I have all updates installed. Bluetooth working properly.

When starting from terminal I get this:

"Using config file 'standard.conf'.
/usr/share/blueproximity/proximity.py:186: GtkWarning: GtkSpinButton: setting
an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated
  self.wTree = gtk.glade.XML(self.gladefile)"

Have to Ctrl+C to get out of there an nothing else shows up. Not sure
what this means.

Running it on Dell Inspirion 17R with 8GB RAM.

Cheers,

Gabor

[Bug 1338460] [NEW] Apport reports an app crashed when it did not

2014-07-07 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

Apport has come up saying that an app has crashed and if I want to report the
bug and if I want to restart the app. In actual fact the app did not crash and
worked just normally afterwards.
It has happened with different apps, most commonly with Google Chrome.
Also, even though I leave the Report it checked in, it does not generate any
report and just silently disappears. No Data what happens afterwards.
This has happened randomly a number of times.

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 with all updates installed on a Dell Inspirion

[Bug 1330935] [NEW] Nautilus error when unmounting locations

2014-06-17 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

I have opened remote server location with Nautilus and the opening and
handling worked all fine. Then I have unmounted the location by
clicking the "unmount" sign next to the location on the left tree panel.
The unmount worked fine, as expected, however when I moved the mouse it
was moving a folder that was under the mouse right after the unmount
like I would have grabbed that folder.

I did not grab the folder but by clicking on the unmount and after the
unmount got executed and the location disappeared from the tree view and
mouse grab was executed and even though I was not holding down any of
the mouse buttons it looked like I was grabbing one of the folders. By
hitting ESC I have cancelled the action and all went back to normal.

It can be reproduced every time on my system.

I have Ubuntu 14.04 installed (upgraded from 13:10) with all updates
installed and running on a Dell Inspiron 17R with 8GB RAM and a 120 GB
SSD.

[Bug 1330487] [NEW] Faulty keyboard layout

2014-06-16 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to 14.04 I am experiencing problem with one of my keyboard
layouts. I have setup Danish (which is my actual keyboard layout) and
Hungarian (which I am using due to special characters not on my keyboard). I
am using this exact same setup since 12.04 or so and it has always been working
just fine.
Recently one of the special characters which is "í" can not be located on the
keyboard. When I check the layout and the input setting shows me a visual of
the keyboard layout, it is there. It is at the bottom left of the keyboard
where my "<" is when on Danish keyboard. However when on Hungarian keyboard,
that key is actually dead and does not do anything.

Not sure if I have to report this under "unity-control-center" or
somewhere else. It can be reproduced every single time when I switch to
Hungarian keyboard. The other special characters "óéá", etc. show up as
expected and there is only problem with this one.

I am using a Dell Inspiron 17R laptop with Ubuntu 14.04, all system us
updated and no special settings other than usual.

[Bug 1321727] [NEW] Splash Screen freezes

2014-05-21 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

I had newly installed GnuCash under Ubuntu 14.04. The program was
working ok, however when I have closed it and closed other windows too I
have noticed that the "Splash Screen" stayed there grayed out and
totally unresponsive. It is not even showing up on the launcher bar as
a running app.

I am running a Dell Inspiron 17R with 8GB RAM and on an SSD (if that
matters.)

Re: [Bug 1156358] Re: Chromium very slow

2014-05-03 Thread Gabor Toth
Hi,

Sorry to say but this has been a long-long time ago. Since I use Ubuntu
14.04 multiple times reinstalled or upgraded the system. This trouble
doesn't exist in my current system and I have no means to check out on a
configuration described in the bug.

Can't help with that.

Re: [Bug 1177706] Re: empathy does not work

2014-04-27 Thread Gabor Toth
Hi Walter,

Thanks for your mail. Understand that you have to prioritize.

Frankly I have totally forgot about this particular bug. As far as I can
tell it was handled in the next versions and in the next versions of
Ubuntu. Not using that much Thunderbird these days, as I am using multiple
devices including Tablets and Phones and it seemed easier to use webmail on
the laptop with those, no need to have local hard drive space and so on.

I think we can safely assume that the bug is fixed.

Re: [Bug 1304888] Re: Cannot generate new PGP key

2014-04-11 Thread Gabor Toth
Hi Seth,

I have tried that and this is what I got:

"Not enough random bytes available. Please do some other work to give
the OS a chance to collect more entropy! (Need 228 more bytes)"

I got this a number of times with different number of bytes still needed.
Not sure what is the point of displaying it but anyhow. That is not a bug
I guess.

However then came up the actual bug:

"gpg: no writable public keyring found: eof
Key generation failed: eof"

This is the message I get and no key is generated. I suppose this is the
same bug.

Please let me know if there is any other data needed.

Best,

[Bug 540692] Re: "unmount partitions that are in use?" dialog is confusing

2013-09-24 Thread Gabor Toth
I had this at my last install. Seems it comes up either when external hard
drive or USB disk attached and mounted or (and this is when it becomes
important per what I see) when you - like I did - before installing check out
what is on the hard drive of the computer and thus mount and open one or more
partition there.
It happened to me with the latest 13.04 installer from Live CD mode.
Should be changed as suggested above.

Re: [Bug 1197016] Re: files disappear from ubuntu one shared folder

2013-07-03 Thread Gabor Toth
Hi Seth,

I would disagree with this not being a security issue. Files have
disappeared from all computers and U1 Web and if I would not have had a
backup, that I setup separate from the system, those files would have
been lost.

Re: [Bug 1178208] Re: Shutdown, restart and boot up process hangs

2013-05-09 Thread Gabor Toth
When it happens again I will do. I guess the screenshot will have to be
done by a camera as I can't do with the system in a hanged shutdown mode.

I do not know how to reproduce it at will so will have to be ready and
do it when happens. Not so often.

[Bug 1178208] [NEW] Shutdown, restart and boot up process hangs

2013-05-09 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

I have upgraded to Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit from 12.10. Before the system
was very stable and no bugs really.

Now, I have run into a strange problem a couple of times. Sometimes when I
tried to shut down the system it would start the shut down process, closes all
apps, logs off, goes into the shut down screen with the UBUNTU sign and the
"dots" moving and then hangs right there. No disk activity and the shutdown
process did not go further.
I tried to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then there was some activity with it going to
text mode and some messages of processes closing, but then hang again.
Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del again gave the same message but hang again. I had to
hard shut off the system with the power button pressed for 5 sec. This
happened about 4 times.
1 time when I pressed Ctrl-Alt-Del as described above, the system actually went
into a reboot and then when started up I could properly shut down from the
login screen.
Another instance that might be related is one time when I turned on my laptop
the startup process seemed hanging. It was going normal then suddenly went to
text mode and hung there. I pressed Ctrl+Alt+F1 and then Ctrl+Alt+F7 and I
suddenly got the login screen and I could log in and all was well. Seemingly
it hung before giving me the graphical login screen but the above way I managed
to get to it anyhow and it worked.
These have only happened since upgraded to UBUNTU 13.04. I am running it on a
Dell Inspiron 17R, with 4 GB RAM and only having on OS, the UBUNTU installed.

I am willing to help on the handling of it with testing or further
reports. Can not reproduce the bug as it happened a few times randomly
and might or might not happen in the future.

[Bug 1177706] [NEW] empathy does not work

2013-05-08 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

I have not much used Empathy in the past but now that I have upgraded to Ubuntu
13.04 I decided to give it a try. I am running 64 bit version of Ubuntu on a
Dell Inspiron 17R with 4GB RAM.
Well, in short empathy does not work. I have FB, Google talk and Yahoo set up.
When I start up Empathy it starts very slow. Many times going unresponsive.
When a message comes in, empathy does not always catch it and I only see it on
FB chat on the browser. Sometimes the message appears in the popup bubble from
empathy, but no window open and I need to open empathy, scroll down to the name
of the person to be able to response.
Not really functional.

[Bug 1177530] [NEW] Does not recognize sound card

2013-05-07 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

Do not know if I am filing it under the correct package.

Since upgrading to Ubuntu 13.04 I have problem with sound. The system does not
anymore recognizes that there is an HDMI device plugged in and thus I can not
put the sound over the HDMI cable.
More than that: from time to time the system does not recognize the internal
sound card and says there is only a "Dummy" device and thus I get no sound at
all. It is kind of random and normally when I restart again then the internal
sound card and sound devices are recognized.

I have a Dell Inspiron 17R laptop with 4 Gb RAM and I am running the 64
bit version of Ubuntu. I have upgraded from 12.10 where the sound
worked perfectly.

I am willing to put time into helping testing or giving more data, just
let me know.

Thanks.

[Bug 1086806] [NEW] Rhythmbox encoder missing plugin

2012-12-05 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

I am on Ubuntu 12.10, upgraded from 12.04. Dell Inspirion 17R with 2GB RAM.
Rhythmbox works just fine or so I thought until today. I was attempting to rip
a CD and put it in Ogg Vorbis format. When I clicked on EXTRACT, I got a
dialog window telling me that "Additional software is required to encode media
in your preferred format:
Vorbis encoder"
When I click on "Install" to get the plugin, it searches for it and says
"Python (v2.7) requires to install plugins to create media files of the
following type: Vorbis encoder" then says "Required plugin could not be found"
Same thing with MP3 except there finds a plugin but that is only for I386 and
not for x64 so I can not isntall either.
I can actually not encode any music in any format.
I can play any music in any format (tried Ogg and MP3) and that works just fine
without a problem. Can not rip CDs at the moment as the encoding does not work
as above.
It is probably since upgrade from 12.04 as on 12.04 it was working. I have not
used this for some time and just tried to do it today with the above fail.
It is reproducible every time for me.

Tried manually installing packages to handle that without success. Let
me know if more data is needed.

[Bug 1072637] [NEW] Pidgin does not appear in the notification area

2012-10-29 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

After upgrading from Ubuntu 12.4 to 12.10 Pidgin no longer visible in
notification area under the menu where the mail and gwibber is. In fact no
instant messenger app is visible there.
Even when I start Pidgin does not appear there. It works but the icon does not
integrate into the notification area menu.

[Bug 1072631] [NEW] Brasero crashes silently

2012-10-29 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

It is a newly upgrade to Ubuntu 12.10 on a Dell Inspiron 17R with 4GB ram.
I have right clicked on an ISO file (actually on the Ubuntu install CD image)
and had Brasero fired up in an attempt to burn it on a CD. An empty CD was in
the drive. When started Brasero gave a message that there is not enough space
on the CD to burn. So I clicked on cancel and seemingly Brasero closed.
Right after I have tried with another image but this time Brasero did not
start. Tried to start it from the dash menu and did not start there either
without any sign or message or anything. Then checked with "System Monitor"
and found out that Brasero was still running - but without a UI. When I forced
it closed then I could start Brasero fine again. Repeated the process and the
same happened. Right now I am on the stage when it is running in the
background and no UI and I am filing a bug report on it.

Tell me if more data needed.

Best,
Gabor

Hi Mike,

Just to clarify, you talk about Google Chrome or Chromium?
The original bug is about Chromium.

2012-10-07 Thread Gabor Toth
Just to add some data, in my machine it happens with mouse closing new
window, as well as opening new window.

Sometimes while loading Youtube, for example, the browser slows down
then freezes for about 5 seconds and then crashes.

Re: [Bug 1054557] Re: Chromium 20.0.1132.47 keeps crashing silently

2012-10-04 Thread Gabor Toth
For me it happens all the time. When closing a tab. When opening a new
tab. When copy+pasting stuff onto another tab or from another app to a
window. It happens with 2 open tab and with 10 open tab.
Sometimes it is stable for some days, and sometimes it crashes twice a
minute or right after reopening again.

Almost sounds as stable as Windows :P

Does anyone know if this bug is being fixed within the Ubuntu groups or
Google have to come up with the fix? I have reported it in Chrome too
directly to Google. It seems to be going on now for 2 weeks or more and
no bug fix coming out. Is there anyone listening to the reports? Wonder...

[Bug 1057580] [NEW] Libreoffice Spreadsheet does not integrate well into Unity

2012-09-27 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

When opening a Spreadsheet document (did it with excel last) by double clicking
on it and having Libreofice fire up and open the document, the integration of
Libreoffice into unity seems broken. While the document opens fine and one can
work with it the following is happening:
One can not go to the document opened with Alt+Tab as it is not shown on the
list and can not be jumped on it unless one has just jumped off of it and then
can go straight back.
The document either appears as an empty space in the Unity panel on the left or
appears as a Spreadsheet icon and an empty space on it. In the first case one
can not click on it and get to the document.
I am attaching a screenshot of this. This happens pretty much all the time. I
have attempted to report this as a bug on the Libreoffice bog report too, could
not see if it went through on the site - my internet was slow and while I
clicked on send report and it did something the page did not change. Anyhow,
it seems more like a Unity problem since the Libreoffice stuff actually does
work just fine.
I am running a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04.1, it was the same on 12.04 too.
It is a Dell Inspiron 17R laptop with 4 GB RAM.

2012-09-25 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu One Crashes practically every time I start it up. It usually manages to

[Bug 1056211] [NEW] Cheese crashes when USB mouse is plugged in

2012-09-25 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

I have a Dell Inspirion 17R laptop with integrated webcam. I have
started up Cheese and it works very good, taking photos and all.
However when I unplug my USB mouse and the moment I plug it back again
Cheese freezes for a few sec and then crashes.

Additionally, apport catches the crash and ask me if I want to report
it. When I click yes then a window comes up asking me to close cheese
if running as it will now start up in debugging mode and I should then
try to reproduce the bug. However it does not start up after that nor
the bug report proceeds so I manually started ubuntu-bug to report this.

I can reproduce it any time. Seems like happening always when I plug
the USB mouse in.

[Bug 1055533] [NEW] Chromium repeatedly crashes

2012-09-24 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

About a week ago got an update for the Chromium package. I did that update
(and all updates before and since for the system) and since then Chromium
became quite unstable. It has crashed numerous times. Seems randomly.
Sometimes with 1 sometimes with 2 or more page open.
Sometimes it has crashed then I reopened and crashed again. Then it was stable
now for some days but today again crashed. I got a crash window opening but it
somehow fails to generate an actual crash report so I am doing here manually.
Right now Chromium works and I am typing this in Chromium.

I am using UBUNTU 12.04, all updates are done, it is a Dell Inspiron 17R
laptop with 4GB RAM, single boot environment.

Tell me if more data is needed.

Can not reproduce it when I want but happens quite often.

[Bug 890770] [NEW] changing language does not work properly

2011-11-15 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

i am using ubunty 11.10. I have setup danish and hungarian keyboard due to the
need of typing hungarian from time to time and it has special characters that
are not on the danish keyboard. i have setup with keyboard preferences and i
can switch either by clicking on it or by pressing shift+caps-lock. it is
setup that each window has it's own setting and the new window should start
with the default setting that is danish. however this does not always work and
many time the new window keeps the setting of the previous one. also often the
indicator says that it is on one language but when i type it is really on the
other one. most annoying when the computer locks the screen and instead of
being on the standard language it is in hungarian and on that it is hard to
type in my password.
it was the same with the previous ubuntu version from which i upgraded to this.
it is worth now though, more times switching to the wrong language.

i am not sure what you are talking about.
i am saying that when i log in i can not access any of the programs

if this is not a bug then what is it? if i wait about 5 minutes not
touching unity then it works, but i do not think it should function that
way.

thanks.

[Bug 886585] [NEW] unity program "menu" is not functioning

2011-11-05 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

ubuntu 11.10
i am using unity 3D and normally it does work great however...
when logging into the system, it starts quite slow. when it comes up there is
a lot of disk work going on still, while i can use almost any application and
any part of the system - except unity.
if i wait a few minutes then all goes fine and unity works just fine. if i do
not wait and try to use unity then what happens is unity can not find any
programs, can not start any programs. it can perform search in files and
folders and can show recently used files and stuff, but the programs part does
not even show up and if i type a name of a program (such as "skype" or any
other for that matter) then unity simple can not find it. the only way for me
to start programs that are not on the side bar is via a terminal. i can start
e-mail or chat from the top menus and can start browser and such from the side
menu as they are kept there but no other program is findable.
this practically happens every time i start my ubuntu. as i said, if i wait
longer then unity works - like it has to load in something or what, not sure.
if i restart my system and wait then it works. right now, as i report this
bug, it does not work. i had to start unity from the terminal.
i have 2gb ram, and running ubuntu on acer aspire 7520 G.

tell me if more data is needed.

okay, I can do it just need a little assistance here. I have never
installed a kernel separately and looking over the site got a bit
confused which should I install. There seem to be different versions of
it. can you please point me to the correct one that i should use? thanks.

[Bug 875069] [NEW] nautilus crashes on use

2011-10-15 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

i have just upgraded from ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10. nautilus was working totally
fine in 11.04.
now, after i log in, if i click on an icon on the desktop, or try to open
nautilus from the side panel or top panel, then nautilus crashes, all icons
disappear from the desktop and it stays like that - does not automatically
restart.
when i try to open nautilus from the side panel or from menu, usually after
several tries it works and nautilus restarts and from thereon till next
logout-login or system restart it works perfectly.

using nautilus 3.2.0 and ubuntu 11.10 desktop edition with 2 gb ram.
using it on an acer 7520G laptop with nvidia video card.

please tell me if you need more data.

[Bug 874117] [NEW] evolution migration problem after upgrade to ubuntu 11.10

2011-10-14 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

i have just upgraded to ubuntu 11.10. after restart and loging in i have
opened evolution to check my mail. it said on start that it needs to upgrade
to the new version of mailbox (or something similar). i clicked on migrate.
it said also that it will keep the old folders that i can delete if i see the
migration was done right.
after evolution open, it downloads mail properly. then i see there are weird
folders marked with # and _sdb at the end of some. i assume those are my old
folders. when i go in them there are subfolders and thus mail missing.
since i have done a backup of evolution prior to upgrade i did not care much
figured i will just add back my missing mail. i wanted to delete these weird
folders but an error message would come that these are not a maildir directory
and showing it's path. of course these are not this is why i wanted to delete
them. it does not let me delete.
then when i answered a mail it gave an error message the first time, something
to do with wrong folder format and storing to the local folder, or similar.
the next time i answered a mail it did not do that.
please let me know what i should do with this or if you need more data or
screenshots.

Re: [Bug 837988] Re: Libbreoffice rendering error

2011-09-16 Thread Gabor Toth
hi,
sorry for the late answer. it took some time to reproduce this bug. it
does not always happen and still did not figure out when it does and
when it does not do like i described.
i managed to reproduce it in libreoffice writer, with numbered entries.
sorry for the bit lengthy video 1:34 or something. i had to fiddle
around a bit. the thing happens at the end. at around 1:20 and there
you see the numbering and lines with it not rendered properly, one
number just go missing till i hit enter again.
let me know if this is good enough.

best,

Gabor

[Bug 837988] [NEW] Libbreoffice rendering error

2011-08-31 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

It has happened several times that while I am typing in Libreoffice writer and
I hit ENTER the cursor jumps in the next line and the screen scrolls, however
there is no proper rendering of the document and thus half of the previous page
is visible in the next page. While i scroll the page with the mouse it fixes
itself and the proper rendering appears. It is happening also when numbering
entries are being used and by hitting ENTER the cursor jumps to the next line
and makes the next numbered entry by all appearances except the number itself
does not appear in the front of the line till I scroll the page. This pretty
much happens all the time.
I have similar problem in Calc. Same rendering issues. When I write in a cell
and hit enter that would move the page as the next cell where the cursor goes
is out of the screen, the screen moves but the rendering remains the same as in
the previous screen kind of not showing up what is in the new cells that have
appeared now. It is also fixed when scrolled with mouse up or down. Then
correct rendering appears.
I am using UBUNTU 11.04, with all updates in place as far as I know. I have
had the same problem when upgrading from previous Ubuntu version and now using
a fresh install and having the same issue. I have a ACER Aspire, 7520G laptop
with NVIDIA graphics card, 4 GB RAM.
The bug can be reproduced every time here, pretty much. Sometimes this does
not appear and I actually could not find out what was the difference those
times.

[Bug 774673] [NEW] Emphaty does not log in to any networks

2011-05-01 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

Recently switched to ubuntu 11.04. i run a standard upgrade. first emphaty
was working. at startup it does not log in to any networks but it did not do
it in 10.04 either so i was used to that.
however now when i start emphaty it does not try to log in anywhere. it kind
of freezes down. not really since i can just close the window and it would
close but nothing happens. does not even try to log in anywhere. i have
logins setup for facebook, yahoo, google talk and people near by. non of these
logs in so i stay totally off line.

[Bug 710275] Re: indicator-applet-session crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance()

2011-02-22 Thread Gabor Toth
Hi, I hope I can help. This has happened to me a number of time. It always
comes right after logging in. I'd then get a crash report even though I was
not yet doing anything. Just waited to all applets to start up and the crash
report shows up. I do not know what crashed as I could see nothing missing or
wrong.
This is all the data I have.

[Bug 660965] Re: When starting computer empathy does not log into chat accounts

2010-10-31 Thread Gabor Toth
Yes, this is so much reproducable that it happens all the time. I
always have to do this manually. As I described above. Every time I
log off, shut down or restart when I log back again I have to do this
procedure. Pretty annoying.

I do not know what do you need to do to reproduce it. With me it
happens all the time.

Thanks for help.

i have 1 GB ram in my system.
this slowness and problem are just since i ubuntu 10.10. i have first
upgraded from 10.04 and i had experienced a lot of slowness of evolution
than i did a clean install to handle that and put up 10.10 clean and
newly. it is the same. from time to time it slows down and now it was
that error with the link can not open.
on previous slownessess i also filed a bug report but apport was not
running so did not attach the needed data and since the problem did not
repeat.
please tell me what should i do. i can run a memory check, do you mean
the one at boot - memtest? or any other check should i run. i am not
so much deep into linux so please give me instructions what command
should i run to get you the data you need.

hi,

thanks and i understand. i have some questions though.
i am running a stable release and follow the instruction to enable
apport. what do i need to do now?
i am running with gnome but did not find a folder called "/var/crash".
so, how can i send the report.

there was no crash generated when this error occurred so i manually did
the report from help/report a problem.

what can i do now?

thanks for help.

[Bug 526876] Re: package openoffice.org-emailmerge 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1

2010-02-24 Thread Gabor Toth
Well, I had similar, but even running from recovery mode and trying to
fix the packages did not help. So far still have broken packages.
Seemingly some OO apps keep starting up in the background even after
killing them. No idea how to fix that. Any clue anywhere?

[Bug 526914] [NEW] package openoffice.org-emailmerge 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1

2010-02-24 Thread Gabor Toth
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I was having a problem with OpenOffice pretty much since I have Installed
UBUNTU 9.10. The bug was with the quickstart, as it kept crashing and once
crashed OO writer too.
Now during security update while running the update manager it came up with a
message that I need to close OO as otherwise it can not update. However OO was
not open, nor the quickstarter. I have also checked in the system
info/processes if anything is running from OO that I am not aware of but there
was nothing. I clicked forward in the update process and then it alerted me
later on that the emailmerge could not be updated. And voila: this is where
we stand.
