[Bug 342234] Re: RSS now plasmod display becomes garbled
Similar issue with Jaunty Beta. See attachment. I have the same problem with kdetwitter. Attaches are screen shots. KDE work perfectly fine on my laptop without the kdetwitter plasma widget. -G Jaunty Beta, KDE 4.2.2, Athlon XP 5600, 2GB, nVidia 6100SE, proprietary nvidia driver from nvidia.com. ** Attachment added: "corrupted plasma widgets on desktop with kdetwitter" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25844609/desktop_snapshots.jpg -- Twitter plasmoind causes display corruption and plasmoid instability while running for extended periods. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/364129 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 358943] Re: Harddisk stops working after wakeup
My bad. ata2 is the CD ROM. With the 80 GB drive, suspend resume seems to be working fine. I had not encountered this error with earlier versions of the ubuntu with ata1 or ata2. Will see if fresh install in the 160 GB drive will change anything. Thanks. -G -- Harddisk stops working after wakeup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/358943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 358943] Re: Harddisk stops working after wakeup
The DRDY error is now occurring even without suspend and resume. [Bug 358943] Re: Harddisk stops working after wakeup
I replaced the new 160 GB hard drive with the older 80 GB pata hard drive with Ubuntu 8.10. Suspend resume works like charm with 8.10. I then did a fresh install of ubuntu 9.04 on the 80 GB hard drive and on suspend and resume I am seeing this error again [11182.452987] ata2.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen [11182.453002] ata2.00: ST_FIRST: !(DRQ|ERR|DF) [11182.453025] ata2.00: cmd a0/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 tag 0 [11182.453029] cdb 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 [11182.453033] res 50/00:01:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 Emask 0x2 (HSM violation) [11182.453058] ata2.00: status: { DRDY } [11182.453098] ata2: soft resetting link [11182.728453] ata2.00: configured for UDMA/33 [11182.762941] ata2: EH complete Since I am seeing this error on BOTH the 80 Gb and the 160 GB hard drive only after upgrading to ubuntu 9.04. I am guessing there is a configuration / bug in ubuntu 9.04. -G -- Harddisk stops working after wakeup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/358943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 358943] Re: Harddisk stops working after wakeup
I have the exact same problem with dell 700m 160 GB samsung PATA drive. After resume dmesg has the exact same pattern as reported earlier ata1: device not ready (errno=-16), forcing hardreset I recompiled 2 versions of 2.6.28.9 vanilla kernel so that I get drives as /dev/hda* with one and /dev/sda* with another. I am getting the EXACT same behavior with ALL kernels. Also, I used libata.noacpi=1 when drives are mounted as /dev/sda* but did not change the behavior. The drive was fine till I upgraded to Jaunty. -G Ritesh Raj Sarraf wrote: > I had suspected this.
