[Bug 567168] Re: [Toshiba Portege M200] - suspend doesn't work
Tested twice with released Ubuntu maverick (10.10) with updates: both tests resulted in video problems on resume from suspend, using nouveau driver. First resume showed a fine grey grid, with a large block cursor moving with the mouse but no apparent response to input, including Ctrl-Alt-F1 etc, so I had to restart by holding down the power button. The second test showed a screen with a flickering/wavy display, and the resolution was wrong, by which I mean that only the top-left two- thirds was shown, and it filled the screen. The system was responsive to inputs. An X restart did not change the problem, so I initiated a normal clean shutdown with a brief push of the power button. ** Tags added: maverick -- [Toshiba Portege M200] - suspend doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/567168 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 631696] Re: maximus should only run in netbook-session and not start in gnome-session
@Oliver, we may be at cross-purposes. Maximus seems like a good pixel- conserving solution for users who have small screens even when they can't/won't use Unity. I installed Maximus without UNE, and I had a reasonable expectation that it would start automatically. I'm just an old IT-vet who sometimes installs packages, not a Gnome hacker. I'm not trying to recommend how others should use Ubuntu, just trying to point out that the last config change had a surprising result for me, and I hadn't realised that my use case was seen as anomalous. I've followed your advice and manually added it to Startup Applications in an enabled state without problem. Perhaps a note regarding this could be added to the package description and/or man page. -- maximus should only run in netbook-session and not start in gnome-session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631696 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 631696] Re: maximus should only run in netbook-session and not start in gnome-session
@Oliver, only the visual cues are lost. The window menu is directly accessible via Alt-space, window control functions are also accessible via their shortcut keys (e.g. Alt-F4 to close), and I can also use the mouse/touchpad with Window List in the bottom panel to view full window titles with hover and access the window menus with a right-click. Window switching can be done with the keyboard (e.g. Alt-tab) or with the mouse/touchpad (Window List). [Bug 651935] [NEW] [STAGING] kernel-oops following wireless problems (rt3090)
Public bug reported: Running maverick desktop pre-release (with all known updates) on Asus EeePC 1001HA from external USB HDD. The (inbuilt Ralink 3090) wireless connection became intermittent. Attempts to reset with network manager were followed by that applet becoming unresponsive, and an apport error indicator appeared but failed to proceed. I logged out, but the subsequent GUI login details were greyed-out. I successfully restarted the system through the login screen's session button menu. On restart the apport indicator appeared for a kernel-oops.
