I don't agree with the justification but the upstream linux kernel bug (#15313) has been closed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/518818 Title: ath9k driver not working properly with AR9285 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 518818] Re: ath9k driver not working properly with AR9285
I have previously downloaded (starting at comment #52) compat- wireless-2010-09-12 from http://www.orbit-lab.org/kernel/compat- wireless-2.6/ and reported success with my ath9k NIC and several others have done also with the same result. What I have noticed since is that while this is working fine, my Samsung R580 laptop has been on A/C power. As soon as I run from battery (and therefore some power-saving comes into action), I get the same result loss of connectivity as I had before I thought it was "fixed". I am now trying compat-wireless-2010-11-13.tar.bz2 and I will run from battery instead of A/C to see what happens. Stay tuned. -- ath9k driver not working properly with AR9285 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/518818 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 352732] Re: [jaunty] Sound muted after boot
Ok, I've found a fix that works for me. I was find that if I didn't shut down my computer gracefully (and there letting /etc/init.d/alsa-utils run it's stop procedure) that the sound levels would be set and un-muted on next boot. Therefore, I commented out line 372 in /etc/init.d/alsa-utils: # mute_and_zero_levels "$TARGET_CARD" || EXITSTATUS=1 Now when I reboot gracefully, the sound levels are correct. I would suspect that there is a bit a race condition happening. I am supposing the alsa-utils script is being called twice and as the levels have been "muted and zero'd" the first time around, the second time around sees the zero'd levels get saved as the Alsa state. I think the udev and rc.d is invoking the script twice.. This is however just a theory, but it makes sense!!! [Bug 198531] Re: Connecting to SSH or Samba server gives "The specified location is not mounted" error
I personally wouldn't want a bookmark for a one-time open of a remote location. I know that bookmarking is what we have to do as the momentary fix but we need this fixed upstream. If you look at the upstream activity (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=520390), there has been some movement and some suggestions but no solution as of yet. Having a 'Connect to server' function is nice but without it working without enabling the bookmarking option and then entering a name is quite counter-intuitive and a step back. -- Connecting to SSH or Samba server gives "The specified location is not mounted" error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198531 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 147943] Re: [MASTER] broken initial stacking (was: compiz hides quick loading windows at login)
I have three PCs, two desktop with nVidia cards and one laptop with Intel 945 and the last Compiz fixes have not helped. I noticed that in todays updates that there is new gnome-panel patches and I was hopeful that it may have helped the situation. But alas, the problem still persists on all three machines. [Bug 124519] Re: need to add max texture size check
Here's my logic, tell me if it's wrong: People don't submit bug reports when things are working and when this was working (before the last updates) for the nVidia users, it seems that there were also no complaints from the ATI users. The wrapper may need to be patched and if it breaks for ATI users, then they would be inclined to submit a bug report and that way the affect will be known. Also, as Daniel stated, it is doubtful that compiz is using 3D textures so this would be the wrong variable to test on any graphics adaptor. -- need to add max texture size check https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124519 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
