Re: [Bug 552316] Re: ubuntu 10.04 will not shutdown
I had this problem. For some reason I uninstalled the hardware driver for my video card which is a ati radeon HD4570 and guess what - no more issues when turning off. Now of course it could be totally unrelated, but I know for sure there are issues with the driver for this video card. Start up screen is distorted with the driver enabled. Hope this helps. [Bug 469677] Re: failed to execute program sync engine
I found a solution - I had to start the Sync engine. for some strange reason it did not want to start on it own. But aftwer doing the following and replicating it I am happy to say this works. If you haven't done so already, please make sure that the sync-engine is running. You can do this by opening up a terminal and start it with: $ sync-engine Ubuntu users should not have to execute the sync-engine manually: it will be launched automatically by dbus when its presence is required. If you do want to start it manually under Ubuntu, you should execute $ synce-sync-engine my thanks to http://www.synce.org/moin/SynceSetup/SyncEngine -- failed to execute program sync engine https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/469677 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 368227] Re: calandar in Evolution freezes the moment I click on other evolution programs work ater force quit but not calandar
Found a fix by going to Places on the desktop Home folder, clicking on show hidden files, click on '.evolution' ; calendar; local; system; calendar.ics; and then delete last entry that caused crash from and including BEGIN:VEVENT down to END:VEVENT. then saved file and closed. Reopened evolution calendars and everything worked again. (Thank God) The original crash happened when I tried to adjust a recurring event and apply changes to all events. this is when it froze. - Rev Glenn Louttit Minister Innisfail Uniting Church P.O.
