KennoVO, 3.16 from both trusty 14.04.2 and utopic is also affected. And there's also only nvidia 331 available. @Adam Koczur (sbv): nice, that is a step in the right direction! However, I have to point out that pretty much everyone who is affected by this bug is running the 3.13 kernel that comes with Trusty; those who are running newer (non-LTS) kernels all have newer nvidia drivers (except the ones with legacy graphic cards, but that's a minority; nvidia's legacy support goes quite a way back...) [Bug 675639] [NEW] Problems with characters encoding with html messages and attachements
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I use default utf-8 encoding for my messages. However, whenever i get html only message, or html attachment encoded with is-8859-2, I get all strings with polish diacritic signs replaced by [?] string. it's especially annoying, since the encoding declaration is usually present within html document, ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.35-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 CheckboxSubmission: 771f2b37652726d8a7656135722e0ad1 CheckboxSystem: 669b662da410063cc918e0f60cf6cddf Date: Mon Nov 15 17:57:17 2010 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/evolution InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx - Release amd64 (20100429) ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=(custom, user) LANG=pl_PL.utf8 SourcePackage: evolution ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- Problems with characters encoding with html messages and attachements https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/675639 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Another funny thing. [Bug 511980] [NEW] gnome-panel on autohide shows below application window.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 apt-cache policy gnome-panel gnome-panel: Zainstalowana: 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu6 Kandydująca: 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu6 Tabela wersji: *** 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu6 0 500 http://pl.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Here are the details of what's going on. Some time ago I installed awant-window-navigator from repositories, removed bottom gnome panel, and set up top one on autohide, as well as awn. I'm working on laptop, and this configuration uses screen more efficient. Point is, that from time to time (more often lately), gnome-panel was comming from hiding behind application window, and awn wasn't showing (probably same bug) at all. I had to restart awn, but clicking gnome-panel was enough to make it behave correctly. Yesterday I've updated awn to the one from awn-testing ppa repository. I no longer seem to have problems with it, however problem with gnome-panel stayed or even gone worse. It no longer comes behind even if clicked. Funny thing, that it works correctly on other virtual desktop, at least till I activate that window instead of panel, I have evolution turned on. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: autohide gnome-panel ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-panel lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 9.10 Release:9.10 apt-cache policy gnome-panel gnome-panel: Zainstalowana: 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu6 Kandydująca: 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu6 Tabela wersji: *** 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu6 0 500 http://pl.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Here are the details of what's going on. [Bug 511980] Re: gnome-panel on autohide shows below application window.
Well... if it's reproducible... don't know, it just happens from time to time. Last few time happened after watching videos in Totem in full screen. Old AWN showed in full screen, and disappeared after moving mouse cursor over and out. After that the problem occurred. For some time I was thinking it has something to do with using Audacious as it's always on (and in tray, unless I'm playing with it's list) when this things happens, but I'm not sure any more. There's nothing constant in what I'm doing that may cause this behaviour, so, I'm guessing it's something I'm not aware of. Don't know if it'll be helpful: I've got normal visual effects turned on, and one screenlet applet set to below. If there's a way to check parameters for my desktop objects that tells what should be kept below and what over or on what layer objects are set to show on, I'd be probably of more help for this, next time this thing occurs. -- gnome-panel on autohide shows below application window. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/511980 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 370000] Re: package mysql-server-5.1 5.1 .31-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: el subproceso post-installation script devolvió el código de s alida de error 127
Yes, it is, and was right after my desktop Ubuntu installation. I replaced the 9.10 with with the one I took from 9.04. To be true, I begin to think there was something within my database directory /home/database (into which my.cnf pointed to) that prevented normal installation and running, although the only difference was debian flag file. In my directory it had 5.0 in name (debian-5.0.flag), while in the database folder created after using default my.cnf the file had 5.1 (debian-5.1.flag). Since mysql-common is installed as a requirement to ubuntu-desktop, I had some problems with locating the source of problems. But after this adventure I moved all my database servers from desktop system to virtual machine with ubuntu server. -- package mysql-server-5.1 5.1.31-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: el subproceso post-installation script devolvió el código de salida de error 127 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/37 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-dfsg-5.1 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I've got similar problems but on Ubuntu 9.10 64bit First, when I installed this ubuntu, I recovered all /etc/mysql/ files from 9.04 and moved it to my current Ubuntu installation. Then after a while I installed mysql-server 5.1 which gave my configuration error while installing. After some playing around I've purged all server packets, renamed /etc/mysql to /etc/mysql1 and installed server again, it got mysql working, it starts and restarts, however I get this message when starting: /etc/init.d/mysql: WARNING: /etc/mysql/my.cnf cannot be read.
