[Bug 1011344] [NEW] Screen corruption (two thirds black, one third striped) when enabling MapsGL on gmaps
Public bug reported: A few seconds after I enabled MapsGL on google maps, using chrome, 2/3 of my screen went black and 1/3 was striped. After leaving the machine idle for a few minutes the display went into sleep mode and then when I pressed something on the keyboard to wake it up it was back to "normal". I say "normal" because although i could enter my password to unlock, the screen was flickering really badly and unity was exhibiting some really weird behavior -- menus folding back right after I'd clicked on them, dialogs (e.g. the shutdown one) disappearing before I had a chance to click on them, etc. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.17.0-1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.39-generic 3.2.16 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, composite, opengl, decor, regex, gnomecompat, vpswitch, compiztoolbox, move, resize, grid, animation, snap, imgpng, place, unitymtgrabhandles, session, mousepoll, workarounds, wall, expo, fade, ezoom, scale, unityshell] CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Sun Jun 10 19:42:38 2012 DistUpgraded: 2012-01-16 22:21:19,701 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: precise DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: virtualbox, 4.1.12, 3.2.0-24-generic, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, whatever it takes to get this fixed in Ubuntu GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0126] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:21d2] InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release amd64 (20111012) MachineType: LENOVO 4170CTO ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-24-generic root=UUID=6c8b89f7-f0ef-440b-bea8-ccb5f8d5b8a3 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xserver-xorg-video-intel UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-01-17 (145 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 11/01/2011 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 8CET50WW (1.30 ) dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available dmi.board.name: 4170CTO dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr8CET50WW(1.30):bd11/01/2011:svnLENOVO:pn4170CTO:pvrThinkPadT420s:rvnLENOVO:rn4170CTO:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 4170CTO dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T420s dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs 20090808ubuntu36 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.32-1ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 8.0.2-0ubuntu3.1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 8.0.2-0ubuntu3.1 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu10.2 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.7.0-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.14.99~git20111219.aacbd629-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.17.0-1ubuntu4 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20111201+b5534a1-1build2 ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug compiz-0.9 precise ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1011344 Title: Screen corruption (two thirds black, one third striped) when enabling MapsGL on gmaps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1011344/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 938720] [NEW] When switching application tabs (with Alt+1..9 shortcuts) the HUD sometimes shows up
Public bug reported: I use the Alt+1...9 shortcuts to switch application tabs (gnome- terminal, chromium, firefox, etc) all the time, and quite often the HUD shows up after the tab is switched. This doesn't happen if I press the Alt key, followed by the number and then release Alt, but I frequently seem to release the Alt key at almost the same time I press the number and that's when the HUD shows up. I thought this could be the same cause as bug 923410 or bug 937036 but those seem to happen consistently, regardless of how fast you release the Alt key. [Bug 933630] [NEW] Launcher doesn't auto-hide after using Super+1..9 shortcuts
Public bug reported: After the last unity update my Launcher gets stuck after I hit any Super+1..9 combination. I have it configured to auto-hide so whenever I hit Super+1..9 it used to appear for a fraction of a second and then hide but now it gets stuck as if I was holding down the Super key. [Bug 917660] [NEW] Installing qemu-user-static on an i386 lxc container will hose your amd64 host
Public bug reported: If you create an i386 container on an amd64 host and install qemu-user- static on the container, it will run "update-binfmts --import qemu- x86_64" and since binfmt doesn't seem to be containerized, it will affect the host causing all binary executions to go through /usr/bin /qemu-x86_64-static, which in turn crashes like this: salgado@delgadito:~$ ls ERROR: ioctl(SNDCTL_DSP_MAPINBUF): target=0x80085013 host=0x80105013 ERROR: ioctl(SNDCTL_DSP_MAPOUTBUF): target=0x80085014 host=0x80105014 qemu: Unsupported syscall: 202 qemu: uncaught target signal 11 (Segmentation fault) - core dumped Because of that you won't be able to execute anything on the host, so the only way to solve that is to restart or run the following in the container: update-binfmts --package qemu-user-static --remove qemu-x86_64 /usr/bin/qemu-x86_64-static ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: linux-image-3.2.0-9-generic 3.2.0-9.16 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-9.16-generic 3.2.1 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-9-generic x86_64 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. [Bug 885225] [NEW] The indicator uses a lot more CPU as soon as I unplug my laptop from AC
Public bug reported: I have the indicator with the CPU monitoring enabled and noticed that whenever I unplug my laptop (T420s) from AC, the CPU usage increases. After watching top while I unplugged, I noticed the inidicator-multiload process was partly to blame (compiz was also using more CPU after I unplugged) for that, but once I closed the indicator I noticed that the CPU usage would stay pretty much constant after unplugging, so I'm led to believe the extra CPU usage from compiz was driven by the indicator. FWIW, gnome-system-monitor has the same behaviour -- as soon as I unplug, I see a spike in overall CPU usage and then it stabilizes at about 10% more than the overall usage before unplugging. [Bug 772534] [NEW] Alt-tab doesn't always switch focus when using sloppy focus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity If you use click-to-focus and have the mouse pointer above the window on focus you can hit Alt-tab (without holding the Alt key to see the possible windows you can switch to) to have focus switched to the previous window, but that doesn't work if you use sloppy focus. Sometimes it switches if I hold the Alt key and use Tab to cycle through the possible windows, but even that doesn't work sometimes. Notice that this only happens if you have the mouse pointer above a window, so to reproduce you can open two terminals, leave the pointer above one of them and try to switch between them using Alt-Tab. [Bug 771850] [NEW] Control-Enter on a quicklist menu item should start a new instance
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity Sometimes I use the Alt+f1 shortcut to navigate the quicklists of my launcher icons using the keyboard.
