[Bug 880798] [NEW] Drag'n'drop arbitrary items to launcher doesn't work (Oneiric Regression)

2011-10-24 Thread Hannes_S
Public bug reported:

hannes@XFLR6 ~ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 11.10
Release:11.10

Scenario: I want to drag an item from application A and drop it into
application B. The window(s) of application B is (are) minimized or on
another desktop. (real life example: I want to drag a file from Nautilus
into a Skype chat. This is an everyday use case for me).

What I expect to be happening (and what was happening in Natty): Upon
hovering the launcher icon of application B and staying there for a
moment, all the windows of application B are shown next to each other
(as if I was clicking twice on the icon, which I can't do because I'm
dragging an item). I can then hover a window to bring it to the front
and drop my item.

What is happening in Oneiric: Upon hovering the icon of application B,
nothing happens.

Manually aligning the source- and target-windows of the drag'n'drop
process is very inconvenient.

** Affects: unity (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Tags: launcher unity

[Bug 284612] Re: progress bar doesn't scroll

2011-08-06 Thread Hannes_S
This affects me as well (latest 11.04), but only if I stream the sound
to a pulseaudio server over the network. Killing pulseaudio on the
computer rhythmbox is running on temporarily solves it.

[Bug 394070] [NEW] PWD is not set correctly when opening new tabs of gnome-terminal

2009-06-30 Thread Hannes_S
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: fish

Steps to reproduce:

start gnome-terminal with fish as default shell
cd to a different directory
echo $PWD echoes the correct pwd
open a new tab in gnome-terminal
ls confirms, that the current working directory in the new tab is the same as
in the previous tab, but echo $PWD results in ~, which is wrong. Also, the
pwd indicator at the shell prompt displays ~.

Ubuntu 9.04

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename'

[Bug 380688] [NEW] Rhythmbox clears collection if nfs-share isn't mounted

2009-05-26 Thread Hannes_S
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

My music collection is located on a device mounted via NFS. When, for
some reason, the share gets umounted and I start Rhythmbox, it starts
removing all tracks from it's database, so the collection has to be
rescanned.

Rhythmbox could check whether the collection directory e.g. matches a
mountpoint in fstab and react accordingly.

Alternative: Provide a way to manually rescan/update the collection.

50/50 Bug/Wishlist I'd say. Please correct me If my approach to hosting
my music collection on a different host than RB is running on is wrong
;-)

[Bug 379344] [NEW] custom status message is lost on disconnect

2009-05-22 Thread Hannes_S
Public bug reported:

whenever my connection to an xmpp-server is lost and I reconnect, my
custom status message is lost.

Steps to reproduce:

1. connect to an xmpp-account
2. set a custom status message
3. kill internet connection (e.g. pull cable or switch off wireless)
4. wait for gajim to notice the lost connection
5. restore internet connection
6. reconnect gajim
7. status message is blank, but should be the one set in step 2.

I'm using the default gajim 0.12.1-0ubuntu5 from jaunty.

cheers

[Bug 100116] Re: sshfs mounted drives do not show correct size and availability in df

2008-11-09 Thread Hannes_S
Same here, since upgrading to Intrepid. The changelog [1] suggests that
the correct amount of free space is shown if OpenSSH = 5.1 is
installed, but regardless of that I still get 0.0k free.

$ sshfs -V
SSHFS version 2.0
FUSE library version: 2.7.3
fusermount version: 2.7.3
using FUSE kernel interface version 7.8

$ dpkg -l | grep openssh
ii openssh-client 1:5.1p1-3ubuntu1

[Bug 84801] Re: NFS freeze after switching network interface

2008-10-19 Thread Hannes_S
same problem here.

Ubuntu 8.04
nfs-common 1:1.1.2-2ubuntu2.1
Linux miles 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Aug 20 22:56:21 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

the nfs-server is a debian etch box in my LAN:

Linux jaco 2.6.26-bpo.1-amd64 #1 SMP Tue Sep 2 09:38:17 UTC 2008 x86_64
GNU/Linux
nfs-common 1.0.10-6+etch.1
nfs-kernel-server 1.0.10-6+etch.1

is there at least some way to reset nfs? umount -fl on all nfs-mounts doesn't
help. the problem fixes itself after some time (dmesg:
[ 6620.654359] nfsacl: server jaco not responding, timed out
[ 6663.431487] nfs: server jaco OK), can I accelerate that?

[Bug 94230] Re: thumbnails privacy violation hazard

2008-04-24 Thread Hannes_S
I just encountered this issue. Perhaps you could

- shorten the period thumbnails are kept on the disk
- only cache pictures on devices listed in /etc/fstab

I would prefer the thumbnail cache getting cleaned on logout, as Loic
Minier suggested. Perhaps this could be optional.

I can confirm this, though I'm not sure my setup is xinerama (I'm using the

I think it's a firefox issue, since no other applications are affected.
