Same here on Ubuntu 14.04. Please drop the patch! Don't change the window class! I think it is bad solution because changing the window class causes unwanted side-effects. For example, the settings in ~/.Xresources file are not working at all (LP #949126), and probably the other programs which refer to the wm_class to find Emacs window also will not work correctly. Oh... old config data seems to have remained in my home directory... sorry. I created new user account and confirmed sans font is used by default. I deleted old config files ~/.config/inkscape and ~/.inkscape, and everything works fine. Thanks.
