[Bug 1792764] [NEW] Missing JPEG2000 support

2018-09-15 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Public bug reported:

correctly.)

Same here on Ubuntu 14.04.
Last night the package system attempted to update a lot of packages (644
packages) and newly install ocl-icd-libopencl1, but that failed for this...

apt-get -f install cannot resolve this problem.

[Bug 1161726] [NEW] Multi-monitor: Mousepointer hangs when passing between monitors, although no Launcher is there (regression)

2013-03-28 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Public bug reported:

This is exactly same as LP #1120223 which has been closed by mistake:

[How to reproduce]

1. Have a dual screen left-right config, with the Launcher just visible on your
main (left) monitor
2. Make your mousepointer move between first and second display multiple times

[What you would expect]

You should feel no barrier when doing that, as there is no Launcher on
the right screen.

[What actually happens]

The mousepointer sometimes hangs, when moving between those screens (both
directions are
affected, left-right right-left).

Note: It always hangs once you stay longer than 1 second on each monitor.
It also starts blocking after one second if you move between your screens
rapidly.

2012-11-21 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Alt+RMB is very important shortcut in Blender, so Unity is still useless
for me (and Blender users)... Please fix it!

[Bug 1068509] [NEW] tk8.5 required but any versions of tk satisfy Depends

2012-10-19 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Public bug reported:

In debian/control, wavesurfer depends on tk8.5 | wish. This
dependency is satisfied by any version of tk such as tk8.4.

However, wavesurfer actually can run only with tk8.5 because the program
starts wish8.5 as follows:

  exec wish8.5 $0 $@

so, if tk8.4 is installed, wavesurfer can be installed without tk8.5 but
it fails to start like below:

$ wavesurfer
/usr/share/tcltk/wavesurfer/app-wavesurfer/wavesurfer.tcl: 3: exec: wish8.5:

I think wish should be removed from Dpepends to avoid the error.

[Bug 1048091] Re: dh_python3: TypeError when maximum version is specified

2012-10-09 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
I encountered the problem in my Blender's PPA:

  ppa:irie/blender

You can see build log of the FTBFS:

  https://launchpad.net/~irie/+archive/blender/+build/3876314

Since Blender requires many libraries which are not officially
debianized yet, you have to use some other PPAs if you want to test my
blender package:

  ppa:irie/opencollada-builddep
  ppa:irie/ocio-static
ppa:irie/openimageio (optional, maybe Ubuntu's offical package can be used
instead)

Anyway, as I mentioned in Debian's tracker, each element of vr[] in
depends.py is a tuple of the major and minor versions such as (3, 2),
not an integer, so vr[1] + 1 in the line 158 absolutely causes a
TypeError.

[Bug 298447] Re: julius wants /dev/dsp as input device

2012-08-06 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Probably this problem is not fixed by only updating to 4.2.2.

Because development files of ALSA library need to be installed when
building Julius with the ALSA support, libasound2-dev has to be added to
Build-Depends in debian/control.

[Bug 958356] [NEW] Need linking zlib to avoid crash

2012-03-18 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Public bug reported:

If libsent is built without zlib, it uses popen() for reading .gz file
(See libsent/src/util/gzfile.c). So, using libsent in multi-thread
progam is potentially dangerous because fork() in the sub-thread may
cause crash or dead-lock.

I confirmed the crash actually happens to some multi-thread programs.

Please add zlib1g-dev to Build-Depends.

[Bug 958654] [NEW] Cannot use ALSA (Conflict with libsnack2-alsa)

2012-03-18 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Public bug reported:

I want to install libsnack2-alsa to use ALSA as the sound engine of
WaveSurfer, but the installation fails as follows:

$ sudo apt-get install wavesurfer libsnack2-alsa
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 wavesurfer : Depends: libsnack2 (= 2.2)
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
$

So I have to use padsp command to simulate OSS sound devices such as
/dev/dsp.

I think libsnack2-alsa should be installable together with wevesurfer
and take precedence over libsnack2, because OSS is not available on the
default installation of Ubuntu desktop.

Please modify Depends of wavesurfer package in debian/control like
below:

Depends: libsnack2-alsa (= 2.2) | libsnack2 (= 2.2), tk8.5 | wish

[Bug 949126] Re: [Regression] X resources take no effect

2012-03-13 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Attached a patch. This is for debian directory (not a quilt patch).

This patch removes the patch introduced in LP #725988, and gives another
solution which creates a symlink emacs.desktop as follows:

1. Install upstream emacs.desktop file into
/usr/share/emacs/@FULL_VERSION@/etc/

2. Use the Debian alternatives system for
/usr/share/applications/emacs.desktop by adding the following to
emacsVER.postinst:

  --slave /usr/share/applications/emacs.desktop emacs.desktop \
  /usr/share/emacs/@FULL_VERSION@/etc/emacs.desktop \

3. Remove @MENU_VERSION@ from StartupWMClass in emacsVER.desktop

Note that emacsVER.desktop is still necessary when the multiple flavors
(emacs23, emacs24, emacs-snapshot, etc.) are installed. emacsVER.desktop
will be used to launch the desired flavor's Emacs.

[Bug 725988] Re: WM_CLASS needs to match .desktop file name

2012-03-11 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Please drop the patch! Don't change the window class!
I think it is bad solution because changing the window class causes unwanted
side-effects.

For example, the settings in ~/.Xresources file are not working at all
(LP #949126), and probably the other programs which refer to the
wm_class to find Emacs window also will not work correctly.

This issue affects only GNOME Shell users, but the problems caused by
changing the wm_class happen to all Emacs users!

[Bug 725988] Re: WM_CLASS needs to match .desktop file name

2012-03-11 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Just renaming emacsVER.desktop to emacs.desktop actually works, but that
causes another issue that the emacs.desktop file will conflict with the
other flavor's one.

So I suggest the solution as follows:

1. Install upstream emacs.desktop file into /usr/share/emacs/23.3/etc/

2. Use the Debian alternatives system for
/usr/share/applications/emacs.desktop by adding the following to
emacsVER.postinst:

  --slave /usr/share/applications/emacs.desktop emacs.desktop \
  /usr/share/emacs/@FULL_VERSION@/etc/emacs.desktop \

3. Remove @MENU_VERSION@ from StartupWMClass in emacsVER.desktop

Note that emacsVER.desktop is still necessary when the multiple flavors
(emacs23, emacs24, emacs-snapshot, etc.) are installed.
emacsVER.desktop will be used to launch the desired flavor's Emacs.

[Bug 950963] [NEW] nvidia-graphics-drivers needs to provide separate packages such as libcuda1

2012-03-09 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 12.04
nvidia-graphics-drivers 295.20-0ubuntu1

In Ubuntu, nvidia-graphics-drivers package provides only nvidia-current
and nvidia-current-dev, while the Debian's package provides many
separated deb packages as follows:

libcuda1
libcuda1-dev
libcuda1-ia32
libgl1-nvidia-alternatives
libgl1-nvidia-alternatives-ia32
libgl1-nvidia-glx
libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32
libglx-nvidia-alternatives
libnvidia-compiler
libnvidia-compiler-ia32
libnvidia-compiler1
libnvidia-compiler1-ia32
nvidia-glx
nvidia-glx-dev
nvidia-glx-ia32
nvidia-kernel-dkms
nvidia-kernel-source
nvidia-libopencl1
nvidia-libopencl1-dev
nvidia-libopencl1-ia32
nvidia-libvdpau-dev
nvidia-libvdpau1
nvidia-libvdpau1-ia32
nvidia-opencl-common
nvidia-opencl-icd
nvidia-opencl-icd-ia32
nvidia-smi
nvidia-vdpau-driver
nvidia-vdpau-driver-ia32

So, some packages imported from Debian cannot be built or not
installable unless their dependencies are modified. For example,
nvidia-cuda-toolkit is failed to build because of missing libcuda1. See
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-cuda-
toolkit/4.0.17-3/+build/3079987 .

I think the separate packages should be provided as in Debian and
nvidia-current and nvidia-current-dev should be changed to meta packages
which depend on those separate packages.

[Bug 760401] Re: dh_python3 generates incorrect prerm script which cannot remove .pyc files

2011-04-14 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
** Description changed:

  I use dh_python3 in python3 3.2-1.

When building deb package which uses python3 and includes only private

So, when upgrading my package using dh_python3, I got many warnings and
many unnecessary .pyc files remained in my system.

[Bug 716278] [NEW] UI unreadable with asian language packs

2011-02-09 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libreoffice

I'm testing libreoffice 1:3.3.0-1ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 11.04 alpha 2.

When I installed the Japanese language package (libreoffice-l10n-ja),
almost all of UI were shown as square boxes so I cannot read them at
all. To avoid that, I had to set the font replacement (Ubuntu -
TakaoPGothic) by groping.

I use Inkscape 0.48.0-1ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 10.10 amd64.

When I attempt to select font for text tool, I cannot change it from the

[Bug 641097] [NEW] IBus doesn't handle TAB key event in gedit

2010-09-17 Thread IRIE Shinsuke
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ibus

I'm testing Ubuntu 10.10 beta.

When I installed ibus-mozc 0.13.464.102, I found that IBus ignores TAB
key event in gedit. So I cannot enter candidate selection mode of ibus-
mozc even if a suggestion window is shown. Instead, an incorrect TAB
character is inserted.

I also confirmed the same problem using ibus-skk. The completion of
