[Bug 1161726] [NEW] Multi-monitor: Mousepointer hangs when passing between monitors, although no Launcher is there (regression)
Public bug reported: This is exactly same as LP #1120223 which has been closed by mistake: [How to reproduce] 1. Have a dual screen left-right config, with the Launcher just visible on your main (left) monitor 2. Make your mousepointer move between first and second display multiple times [What you would expect] You should feel no barrier when doing that, as there is no Launcher on the right screen. [What actually happens] The mousepointer sometimes hangs, when moving between those screens (both directions are affected, left-right right-left). Note: It always hangs once you stay longer than 1 second on each monitor. Attached a patch. This is for debian directory (not a quilt patch). Install upstream emacs.desktop file into /usr/share/emacs/@FULL_VERSION@/etc/ 2. Use the Debian alternatives system for /usr/share/applications/emacs.desktop by adding the following to emacsVER.postinst: --slave /usr/share/applications/emacs.desktop emacs.desktop \ /usr/share/emacs/@FULL_VERSION@/etc/emacs.desktop \ 3. Remove @MENU_VERSION@ from StartupWMClass in emacsVER.desktop Note that emacsVER.desktop is still necessary when the multiple flavors (emacs23, emacs24, emacs-snapshot, etc.) are installed. emacsVER.desktop will be used to launch the desired flavor's Emacs. ** Patch added: a patch for debian directory (not a quilt patch) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/emacs23/+bug/949126/+attachment/2861864/+files/emacs.desktop_alternatives.patch ** Tags added: patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/949126 Title: [Regression] X resources take no effect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/emacs23/+bug/949126/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 725988] Re: WM_CLASS needs to match .desktop file name
Please drop the patch! Don't change the window class! I think it is bad solution because changing the window class causes unwanted side-effects. For example, the settings in ~/.Xresources file are not working at all (LP #949126), and probably the other programs which refer to the wm_class to find Emacs window also will not work correctly. [Bug 725988] Re: WM_CLASS needs to match .desktop file name
Just renaming emacsVER.desktop to emacs.desktop actually works, but that causes another issue that the emacs.desktop file will conflict with the other flavor's one. So I suggest the solution as follows: 1. Install upstream emacs.desktop file into /usr/share/emacs/23.3/etc/ 2. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/725988 Title: WM_CLASS needs to match .desktop file name To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/emacs23/+bug/725988/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.04 nvidia-graphics-drivers 295.20-0ubuntu1 In Ubuntu, nvidia-graphics-drivers package provides only nvidia-current and nvidia-current-dev, while the Debian's package provides many separated deb packages as follows: libcuda1 libcuda1-dev libcuda1-ia32 libgl1-nvidia-alternatives libgl1-nvidia-alternatives-ia32 libgl1-nvidia-glx libgl1-nvidia-glx-ia32 libglx-nvidia-alternatives libnvidia-compiler libnvidia-compiler-ia32 libnvidia-compiler1 libnvidia-compiler1-ia32 nvidia-glx nvidia-glx-dev nvidia-glx-ia32 nvidia-kernel-dkms nvidia-kernel-source nvidia-libopencl1 nvidia-libopencl1-dev nvidia-libopencl1-ia32 nvidia-libvdpau-dev nvidia-libvdpau1 nvidia-libvdpau1-ia32 nvidia-opencl-common nvidia-opencl-icd nvidia-opencl-icd-ia32 nvidia-smi nvidia-vdpau-driver nvidia-vdpau-driver-ia32 So, some packages imported from Debian cannot be built or not installable unless their dependencies are modified. [Bug 641097] [NEW] IBus doesn't handle TAB key event in gedit
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ibus I'm testing Ubuntu 10.10 beta. When I installed ibus-mozc 0.13.464.102, I found that IBus ignores TAB key event in gedit. So I cannot enter candidate selection mode of ibus- mozc even if a suggestion window is shown. Instead, an incorrect TAB character is inserted. I also confirmed the same problem using ibus-skk. The completion of indexes cannot be started by TAB key. The version number of IBus is 1.3.7-1ubuntu3. I reported this bug in IBus issue 1068. ** Affects: ibus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- IBus doesn't handle TAB key event in gedit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/641097 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
