[Bug 1090836] [NEW] Newly proposed 'A' icon doesn't fit with 'Ubuntu Software Center' name

2012-12-15 Thread Insperatus
Public bug reported:

The newly proposed icon for the 13.04 'Ubuntu Software Center' is an 'A'
with the horizontal part being depicted as a partially completed
progress bar. Keeping the title 'Ubuntu Software Center' doesn't connect
the 'A' icon to the application or its functionality. Unnecessary
branding also gets in the way of communicating the idea of a software
finder/installer.

Solution:

Change 'Ubuntu Software Center' to 'App Center' - change progress
bars/animation

The proposed icon will make sense only if the 'Ubuntu Software Center'
becomes just the 'App Center' (no need for branding to get in the way of
communicating the idea of a software finder/installer.)

The launcher panel progress bars which (in 12.10) appear overlaid on
icons of apps undergoing current installation are removed and a 'global
progress bar' is overlaid onto the 'App Center' icon indicating overall
progress. e.g. When installing multiple apps it indicates combined
installation progress.

During installation of apps the horizontal (static) 'progress bar' of
the 'A' in the mockup icon will appear to be animated with the overlaid
'global progress bar'.

An animation indicates completion of installation - the new app icon
coming out from the right-hand side of the 'App Center' icon. It
appears to squeeze out of the progress bar and then slides down to its
new place on the launcher panel.

Our new icon now galvanizes the idea of what the 'Ubuntu Software
Center' - the 'App Center' - does. It installs apps.

[Bug 1023265] [NEW] No way to clear gwibber history

2012-07-10 Thread Insperatus
Public bug reported:

Currently, gwibber has no internal method for clearing message history.
The message buildup, over time, ends up slowing gwibber to a crawl. A
simple delete messages older than 'x' days option needs to be added.

On www.askubuntu.com, the prefered method of deleting gwibber history is
to install an additional program (sqlitebrowser). I don't think this
qualifies as 'for human beings' design.

[Bug 946028] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in __libc_message() from xf86optionListFree

2012-03-12 Thread Insperatus
I upgraded and did get another prompt for a bug report but I
accidentally selected this existing bug report instead of filing a new
one. Stupid me, whoops.

How do I reset apport so I can report this as a new bug and link to it
as you suggested? I tried deleting /var/crash/* but that didn't do the
trick.

Just as a recap, I did upgrade to the latest xorg-server (see below) and
am still getting crashes when using optirun to initialize programs.

Here's my output of Xorg -version

[Bug 952149] [NEW] lightdm doesn't load unity sessions

2012-03-11 Thread Insperatus
Public bug reported:

12.04 Beta 1
lightdm 1.1.7

Since a recent upgrade in lightdm is unable to login my Unity sessions.
Actually my Unity sessions were also missing after this recent update.
After installing ubuntu-desktop lightdm still is unable to log in.
After entering my credentials it just cycles back to itself rather than
booting the DE. I've worked around this by using gdm which I activated
with 'sudo dkpg-reconfigure lightdm' and choosing gdm from the menu.

[Bug 950597] [NEW] Initiate Window Picker For All Windows only displays windows from current output

2012-03-08 Thread Insperatus
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 12.04 beta 1
CCSM 0.9.5.92

Before upgrading to 12.04, 'Initiate Window Picker For All Windows'
option within the Scale plugin scaled all windows regardless of which
virtual desktop they were assigned to. Since upgrading I've noticed
this feature performs identically to 'Initiate Window Picker For Windows
On Current Output', only scaling windows from the desktop currently
being viewed.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04
Package: compizconfig-settings-manager 0.9.5.92-0ubuntu3
