[Bug 344588]
Applications that have support 5.1 channel support, work only with Wine and I also need because they work better than GNU/Linux applications for a specific task: -WinampAC3Filter plugin for Winamp (Winamp is the only application that has a decent playlist with perfectly optimized controls imho - I mean I can set the imput plugins to display something like "Artist - Album - string of my choosing.filetype - another string of my choosing") -older games that rely much on multichannel to inform the player of the position of things all around like: Counter Strike, Star Trek Armada II, Homeworld 1 2, Giants - Citizen Kabuto, Command and Conquer 1 2 3 -take utorrent for example - the programmers use the Wine platform to make sure it will work very well in Windows. Programmers may (imho they already) use Wine to check games for Windows and even compiling them using Wine libraries to make them go faster and smoother and would be very happy to not have to load Windows instead of Wine just to test if multichannel sounds work properly -I am sure I will have more and more needs to use multichannel in Wine as time passes (for example 3D max Studio or Adobe * - make movies in multichannel and view them without rendering just to check sounds) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/344588 Title: Wine doesn't support 5.1 and 7.1 sound -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 585603] [NEW] graphical nonresponsivness while "gitk" on linux kernel source
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: git-core Be ready to eventually use the reset button while replicating this bug ! 1) I made the following commands: git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git git branch spellcheck git checkout spellcheck gitk And when I run gitk, it begins loading rows, and the more I let it load rows, the more it blocks the mouse, the desktop, etc. until it is eventually killed automatically. 2) The same problem has been observed with another set of commands, done a week or so apart: git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux- next.git ...(one week or so has passed)... cd linux-next git pull And it begins working, and having an ext2 file system it starts to say: Too many files (created x deleted y), skipping inexact rename detection for about four times, where x and y are numbers of hundreds or thousands, and then just does nothing except using the hard disk continually and blocking the desktop. This second set of commands requires a push of the reset button, as it is not killed automatically. [Bug 277924] Re: kernel cannot find map file
I do a fresh install of Ubuntu Intrepid final release. In abaout 10% chances, when I turn off or restart my computer, it just freezes at about 25% progress: and reset is the only option, although after pressing ALT the "-" flashes. -- kernel cannot find map file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277924 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 224122] Re: Installing without Internet access causes repositories are not properly configured
Yeah what about ISP's that stop some people internet connection for a few days - installation without internet should be the default in Ubuntu. And this is very bad - instead of loading packages from the available cd, the mirroring sites are overloaded. Mirror sites should be stopped by default. And what if a complete internet stall because of some disaster or a bad man that coded a multios multiplatform virus for stalling it comes ? Without an internet connection ubuntu must not be useless or faulty. The questions like 'need to download support for that' should be more rare. By the way - Star Trek Voyager Intrepid Class did not have an internet connection. That can happen nowadays with a computer... or ship... or starship. -- Installing without Internet access causes repositories are not properly configured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224122 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 279674] [NEW] install setup desired repository server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity During the install setup, this question should apear before accesing the repositories: Desired repository is: local server (default) or main server ? The local repository may lead to a faulty install in some areas so allow the user to make a new install with the main server if that happens. I had this problem in intrepid beta where my country's repository was not updated with all the packages I requested and I had to select the main server. The cdimage.ubuntu.com Intrepid beta DVD was using the main repository server and by the way -> had far fewer errors then the Intrepid beta CD. Are they released differently or what ? ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- install setup desired repository server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279674 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 278263] [NEW] battle just started game is missing from repositories
Public bug reported: The free game distributed as .tar.gz source is not present in any of the repositories stated in synaptic: http://bjs.sourceforge.net/ I think these game deserves to be in your universe repository. I've made a group of fans of this game in my entourage and we all want to skip having to compile this game with each ubuntu install, witch takes some time... losing points along the way. If I am not correct, you know what to do. Thank you. P.S. I can't be a maintainer because I never manage to make a flawless .deb from a .tar.gz (don't know how to apply changes to the original source). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- battle just started game is missing from repositories https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278263 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
