[Bug 1007075] Re: Menu key shortcuts gone in GVim

2012-12-05 Thread Jakson Alves de Aquino
Keyboard shortcuts are added manually when creating a menu item.
Example:

:menu Edit.Echo\ HelloTabeh :echo HelloCR

Actually, the command eh will not echo anything because the real
shortcut was not created by a :map command. But you can execute the
command through the menu, which should have the following appearance:

Edit
[...]
Echo Hello eh

But we actually see:

Edit
[...]
Echo Hello

The keyboard shortcuts only appear if the global menu is disabled by
starting gvim with the command:

UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= gvim

I'm using Ubuntu 12.10 64bit.

[Bug 44082] Re: GNOME Panel icons (on right side) move apparently randomly on session start in some situations

2009-12-04 Thread Jakson Alves de Aquino
I applied the two lines patch mentioned in comment 77. it apparently solved the
problem and didn't cause any new one. I have written some instructions on how
to build your own package using the gnome-panel_2.28.0-0ubuntu7.diff.gz
 that I prepared: http://jalvesaq.googlepages.com/gnome-panel.html

[Bug 478293] [NEW] subtitleeditor closes abruptly

2009-11-08 Thread Jakson Alves de Aquino
Public bug reported:

Subtitleeditor, which uses libgstreamermm-0.10-2, was closing abruptly
when I tried to open a video (I don't know if it's a crash because the
program doesn't seem to be killed). The following message was output:

subtitleeditor: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on
X server :0.0.

Following suggestion from http://gna.org/bugs/?14386 I run subtitleeditor with
the option --debug-all and the output was the following:

 cut
vp/gstreamerplayer.cc:783 (on_element_msg_sync) prepare-xwindow-id...
vp/gstreamerplayer.cc:487 (on_expose_event)
subtitleeditor: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X
server :0.0.
 cut

Solution: I've built and installed the experimental Debian package of
libgstreammermm (version
0.10.5.2) and subtitleeditor no longer closes abruptly.

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 i386.

I have only the amd64 system installed. But you are correct: certainly
this is a duplicate of bug #114025 because the workaround worked (sudo
sysctl -w vm.mmap_min_addr=0) and the 16 bit applications are running
again.

Thank you!

[Bug 147632] Re: Uable to put my mouse on the floating windows in Stardic

2007-11-11 Thread Jakson Alves de Aquino
Andrew, Debian unstable is constantly updated, and the packages there
depend on versions of other packages newer than the versions that we can
find in any stable distribution. We have to backport the package from
Debian Unstable to Ubuntu Gutsy. I wrote a recipe on how to do this:
http://jalvesaq.googlepages.com/backport.html

[Bug 147632] Re: Uable to put my mouse on the floating windows in Stardic

2007-11-10 Thread Jakson Alves de Aquino
I downloaded the 3.0.0-3 source package (.orig.tar.gz, .dsc and
.diff.gz) from http://packages.debian.org/sid/stardict , built the
packages at Gutsy (amd64) and now I can use the float window. The last
Debian package includes patches written by the upstream author of
stardict before the release of 3.0.1.

[Bug 65230] Re: startup messages continue on screen after first login prompt appears

2007-11-06 Thread Jakson Alves de Aquino
My not elegant solution was the creation of a script named /etc/init.d
/restart-tty1 with the following content:

#!/bin/sh

stop tty1
clear
start tty1 /dev/null

And, then, a symbolic link to it at /etc/rc2.d named S99zrestart-tty1. I
have chosen the prefix S99z to be sure that it will be the last script
to be called.

[Bug 66372] Re: The translation gives one set of keys for Y/n but aptitude only accepts Y or N

2007-09-26 Thread Jakson Alves de Aquino
This bug is still open on Debian, probably because it is impossible to
translate two visible letters (Y and N) when the are many other
letters among the valid answers (D, V, I, C, S, W, I,
E). Looking at the source code of aptitude we can see that the user
can do more than simply answer yes or no. It's possible to show
Dependencies, see the Changelog, Enter the full visual interface,
etc. The translation of Y into Portuguese, for example, is S, which
conflicts with show Size changes.

Two logical solutions to this bug would be:

  1) Do not translate the letters Y and N.
  2) Show a complete menu with all options instead
of the simple prompt Y/n/? , and, then,
 pass all letters to gettext.

The first solution is easy to implement, but we would end with a partial
localization of aptitude. The disadvantage of the second one is that a
simple question would be replaced with a complex one.

The implementation of the first solution is just a matter of replacing

string response=prompt_string(_(Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?]
));

with something like:

printf(_(Do you want to continue?));
string response=prompt_string( [Y/n/?] );

Does anybody has a more creative fix to this bug?

[Bug 88285] Re: Wine package does not include referenced wine.xpm

2007-09-25 Thread Jakson Alves de Aquino
This bug is not visible for users of Kubuntu because KDE themes include
an icon for wine. For Gnome menu, I have put a copy of wine.xpm at
usr/local/share/pixmaps.xpm.

I didn't test it myself, but it seems that the definitive solution would
be the addition of two lines to the install rule of debian/rules of
wine source package:

   mkdir $(CURDIR)/debian/tmp/usr/share/pixmaps
   cp -f $(CURDIR)/programs/winemenubuilder/wine.xpm
$(CURDIR)/debian/tmp/usr/share/pixmaps

I'm using gutsy.
