Hi Marc I can't see what you mean. Firefox is not allowed to put the screen in the sleep state, it even prohibits me from waking it. It is a DOS-attack and if I(normal user) am not able to make the screen wake from its nap then I am bound to loose data. I can add my configuration if you need it. I have the same issue with 10.04 all updates installed. As soon as I open this page: http://sandaletliseyahat.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?start-index=8&max-results=18 my screen shows that it gets no signal anymore. The video I was watching was still playing. In Ubuntu it is somewhere down that road: /home/username/.mozilla/firefox/profilename*/searchplugins/ You have to use ctrl+H to show hidden files and directories and you can even copy profiles from Ubuntu to Windows and vice versa. *profilename=A weird assortment of letters and numbers. **to download right click: "Just the patch for the german Wikipedia searchplugin could not test it" and choose "save as" and type in the name "wikipedia-de.xml". Make sure you turned off the hide known file extensions if you try it in Windows. I got a similar thing except it happened while I was using a 10.04 live session. Something already messed with my sound in firefox but I was able to fix it and then I tried to open ~150 tabs to find a specific video on youtube and that blocked every program from opening new windows in gnome. Then I tried to log off and now I am stuck at a one of the ctrl+alt consoles and I get bombarded with "[xx.xx] SQUASHFS error: Unable to read metadata cache entry [29e30452]" and "[yy.yy] SQUASHFS error: Unable to read inode 0x1433160592". Sorry I can't do that. I already put another flavor of Ubuntu on my Laptop. I can crash Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu if you can salvage that. Maybe I reinstall it later this day that would be extra effort from me for the Ubuntu team. Besides that I have another bug in my collection. A very annoying one I have to admit. My stationary computer for filesharing keeps getting sabotaged. I am using the word sabotage because the machine worked for a day and then something, probably someone, made my external hd disconnect. It got unmounted and because my tor directory was on said drive I had to start all over again, which is pretty annoying, considering the amount of files and the speed of the used machine. Can you give me instructions to collect data on that. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: synaptic Hi All :) I'd like Synaptic to have package collection capabilities. You select some packages and Synaptic outputs a .col file. And if You wish You can make Synaptic assemble all of the .col files to a working Ubuntu on a chosen filesystem or remove, install or really purge packages. Another problem is that Synaptic won't let me break dependencies nor does it have the capabilities to visualize the dependencies. (Something like R&D tree in newer versions of civ seems to be a close call.) Synaptic should also watch what kind of files the programs make and log them for the possibility of removal (Install'n'App Watch) so the system won't get cluttered by config files and other trash.
