[Bug 249062] Re: Displays german ä as one-ten th of a percent sign (‰) when using Times New Roman

2008-07-18 Thread Jan Kronborg
I have a very similar problem with the swedish version. (Swedish also
has the ä sign). ä is desiplayed as ‰. However I can also see this issue
in the menus of Openoffice.

[Bug 249062] Re: Displays german ä as one-ten th of a percent sign (‰) when using Times New Roman

2008-07-18 Thread Jan Kronborg
Hmm, it seems when I start openoffice from the menu, characters are
shown correctly. But when I start by launching (double-click in
Nautilus, desktop or whatever) a calc-file the problem is there.

[Bug 173090] Re: [upstream] [hardy] Special characters are not displayed correctly, fonts dissappear from the menu

2008-07-19 Thread Jan Kronborg
I get this bug so far only when I open a document through nautilus by
double-clicking a file. If I start OO through the menu and then open the
same doument all characters seem to be displaying OK.

I don't have any special fonts installed. And this problem occurred just
very recently for me so I guessed it was due to a recent update of some
package.

[Bug 173090] Re: [upstream] [hardy] Special characters are not displayed correctly, fonts dissappear from the menu

2008-08-07 Thread Jan Kronborg
I am afraid I cannot reproduce the error with broken.odp. Regardless of
how I launch OO.

However, I have been able to track down the cause for my character
display problems. I turns out to be caused by a japanese character
included in my spreadsheet. I am attaching the file. If someone could
test also to see if it is reproducable on other machines as well. Note
that I am only getting the problem when I launch OO with the file as
argument, either by double-clicking in Nautilus or through >> ooffice
test.odt in a terminal.

Could this perhaps be a different bug? Should I file a new bug report?

[Bug 842179] Re: Short after upgrade, Synaptic failed to open but apt-get still works

2011-10-14 Thread Jan Kronborg
I have tried both solutions suggested and I still get this error.
synaptic.conf did not even have a DefaultDistro entry, but adding a
DefaultDistro "oneiric" did not help
Also tried creating /etc/apt/apt.conf with a APT::Default-Release entry, and
that did not help either.

Where does synaptic/apt read this from???
