[Bug 1896137] Re: syslog flooded with "Lockdown: systemd-logind: hibernation is restricted; see man kernel_lockdown.7"
This issue arises whenever system-logind access the `/sys/power/disk` file. Reproduce using `cat /sys/power/disk` and you'll find kernel: Lockdown: cat: hibernation is restricted; see man kernel_lockdown.7 in the kernel log. [Bug 1157299] [NEW] e4defrag segfaults, turns disk inacessible
Public bug reported: While in the middle of defragmenting a mounted ext4 partition e4defrag segfaults. The message "Segfault" is printed into stdout. After failing e4defrag presumably locks write access to the disk or limits access speeds severely, as programs can still be executed but not always, although more time is needed for any task. For example opening a new bash terminal session and typing in one command may work. However, after that the terminal becomes unresponsive and only responds to a Ctr+D. This was tested for both terminal clients running in xserver and the tty. Problem does not persist after reboot. Reboots can't always be completed successfully, requiring a hard reset. Home and root exist on separate partitions on the same drive. Steps to reproduce: 1. Perform a lengthy defragmentation. This was tested for /, /home and a separate folder on /home. 2. After some time segfault occurs. [Bug 689376] Re: [Realtek ALC272] Recording problem. Not able to capture.
I'm running on Apodio 8, which seems to be Ubuntu 10.04, I'm new. I have solved my problem by downloading the Realtek HD Audio driver, "High Definition Audio Codec" from here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ High Definition Audio Codecs > Linux Driver (2.6) As though I have to admit it was a confusing installation process (as I got error messages at the end of the first installation process): Ran the automatic ./install as admin, got a message about wrong folders etc. at the end (maybe because of a difference between Linux/Ubuntu?) So I uninstalled Alsa, reinstalled current alsa-base, compiled source code of above Linux driver, but finished after "make" and did not execute "make install". Don't know if these are important steps, though. Anyways, I now have different/new sliders in the Gnome Alsa Mixer they are called Capture, Capture, Internal, Internal. They correspond to the input volume of the red MIC Jack, but also creating UNUSABLE absolute dangerous feedback noise if not set properly. 1. Unzip to folder of your will 2. Readme.txt ->ALC272 supported! 3. Automatic Install (move to folder via terminal, type sudo ./install) 4. Error messages about wrong folders... (Linux/Ubuntu difference?) 5. Uninstall Alsa via terminal 6. Reinstall Alsa-base 7. Compiled source code of downloaded alsa-driver-1.0.24. etc 8. Terminal "make" 9. Reboot 10. Adjust sliders ! I've made these experiences on Vista too, where the HD audio codec / the corresponding software would be the key to access much more detailed functions of the soundcard. [Bug 777919] [NEW] expresscard breaks ethernet
Public bug reported: Here is how I can reproduce the bug. 1 Boot up Ubuntu 10.04 2 Plug in a DeLock ExpressCard/34 eSATAp controller card. The device will be claimed by the sata_sil24 module 3 Plug a Corsair SSD (Force Series F60) via a DeLock eSATAp cable into the above mentioned controller. Now the build-in ethernet device (details should be in the generated report) does not report any interrupts any more (according to /proc/interrupts) and ifconfig reports errors by the billions. The SSD however mounts flawlessly and runs like a charm. Linux will only ever recognize the ethernet device after a BIOS reset to default settings and a full power cycle in that order. Otherwise the device will still be listed by lspci but not claimed by any driver. I experienced similar issues when connecting the same ssd via a USB3 expresscard/34 however I did not investigate when exactly the network ceases to function. I read that someone experienced the same issue with a verbatim expresscard ssd and the same Laptop model (Lenovo x200) however he blamed some windows driver. (Makes me wonder whether this might actually be a Bug for Lenovo rather than Ubuntu.) Public bug reported: Binary package hint: burn If device is set to "0, 0, 0", cdrecord will fail: wodim: No write mode specified. wodim: Asuming -tao mode. wodim: Future versions of wodim may have different drive dependent defaults. wodim: No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver! For possible targets try 'wodim --devices' or 'wodim -scanbus'. For possible transport specifiers try 'wodim dev=help'. For IDE/ATAPI devices configuration, see the file README.ATAPI.setup from the wodim documentation. "/dev/cdrw" points to the right device and cdrecord will be able to open it. ** Affects: burn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- burn.conf sets device to "0, 0, 0" - should be "/dev/cdrw" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/114920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
