[Bug 651738] Re: Does not check after initial launch
Same problem here. The oldest 'new' bug for this program is dated 2008, so I must assume it is unmaintained at this point. [Bug 577105] Re: lottanzb won't start after upgrade from Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.4
Thanks for the quick fix! It was in the ~/.config/lottanzb/hellanzb.conf file, and that did the trick. Downloaded a test file and it's working like a champ. My /home/user/.lottanzb dir seems to have disappeared, but it doesn't seem to need it. thanks again. -- lottanzb won't start after upgrade from Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/577105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 415023] Re: brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100
I have not done a bios upgrade, yet, but DID disable KMS by putting 'nomodeset' in grub2. I still get a flickering (and downward trending) change in brightness whenever I play a movie. I've repeated this with avi, flv, and mpg files and several different players including vlc. [Bug 284108] Re: Cannot specify device when creating "wireless broadband" connection
This remained an issue with 9.04, and remains in 9.10. This regression on modems has been going on a long time, which leads me to ask: Is ANYONE doing ANYTHING with nm? Of 233 outstanding bugs, you have 3 marked as fixed. If I sort them by 'oldest first' the second one in the list (posted 2 and a half years ago) is marked 'new'. If the network-manager-applet is abandoned, someone should post a sign and migrate Ubuntu to something that actively under development. -- Cannot specify device when creating "wireless broadband" connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/284108 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 282773] Re: Verizon + Palm 700wx Mobile Broadband with NM 0.7
Tethered phones are seen as modems and nm ignores them as that functionality was dropped. Unfortunately, a lot of people still use tethered phones instead of usb dongles. So, this is a regression, and it's been present for 3 versions of Ubuntu so far. There is no reason people should have to use wvdial to connect a modern distribution to the internet. -- Verizon + Palm 700wx Mobile Broadband with NM 0.7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282773 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 282773] Re: Verizon + Palm 700wx Mobile Broadband with NM 0.7
This bug is not invalid, it's very validand STILL exists all the way up to Karmic. nm ignores modems, and that's how tethered phones like the 700wx present. -- Verizon + Palm 700wx Mobile Broadband with NM 0.7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282773 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 374755] Re: No option to connect to 3G network connection
Don't expire this, instead please fix it. Network-manager doesn't see modems anymore and tethered phones present as modems. This is a regression. I see that mobile broadband is a tab in network-manager, except there is no way to specify the device to use, and apparently it also ignores modems. -- No option to connect to 3G network connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 435352] Re: regression: uvcvideo module makes "cannot reset port" error on usb with bison webcam (5986:0203): USB and suspend fails
I confirm this is still a problem with the RC on kernel 3.6.31-14 This is a show-stopping bug on the MSI Wind. Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and UNR are basically un-installable on this (very popular) netbook. When Ubuntu (including K and UNR) detects the camera, it loses the usb stick or usb CD-rom that it's installing from or trying to live-boot from. After upgrading hosed my 9.04 install I decided to install clean, but it was a no go even with every boot option I could think of. The only way I was able to get a (semi) working install was to re-install 9.04 clean, then upgrade from there. -- regression: uvcvideo module makes "cannot reset port" error on usb with bison webcam (5986:0203): USB and suspend fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/435352 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 298301] Re: pcm muted every session
Same here, I have 1:0.9.14-0ubuntu20.2 installed and it has my PCM at 0 volume and muted every startup. I have found out this, though. If I have to kill my system (NOT go through the normal shutdown) the pcm volume is ok when the system comes back up. So, I must infer that whatever is doing this is doing it during shutdown. -- pcm muted every session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298301 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 402954] Re: gnome-volume-control does not allow to configure necessary mixer settings such as the PCM volume.
I found this to be a huge regression in usability. My motherboard has one of those 'odd' soundchips, and every time I reboot I find the PCM muted and the volume zeroed. I get desktop sounds but nothing from any media that I play. Once I upgraded to karmic, I had no way to correct this problem. Had to install alsamixer to fix it. Removing the old volume control from the sound icon was definitely fixing something that wasn't broke. -- gnome-volume-control does not allow to configure necessary mixer settings such as the PCM volume. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/402954 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 282473] Re: cheese and other webcam software malfunctioning with PWC webcam (was cheese doesn't work with my webcam (Philips PCVC740K ToUcam Pro))
I can validate this fix, it worked for me with my logitech quickcam pro 4000 using the pwc driver and 2.6.27-7-generic kernel. All I had to do was add the repos, and do the update. No reboot or other fussing around needed. Pending other problems I'd call this bug fixed. [Bug 282664] Re: [regression] v4l2 for module pwc with webcam Philips 740 doesn't work
Same behavior here with Logitech Quickcam pro 4000 (046d:08b2). Green screen in skype and cheese, but vlc can display video just fine (v4l2://).
