[Bug 1246272] Re: Keyboard layout changing randomly

2014-05-14 Thread JockeTF
As a programmer, this is a very frustrating issue for me as well.
Punctuation, brackets and other such characters are located in very
different positions on sv_SE compared to en_US.

My keyboard layout always changes to en_US when GNOME Shell is
restarted. Never on the initial startup though. The following command
solves the issue temporarily for me:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.input-sources current 0

[Bug 1246272] Re: Keyboard layout changing randomly in 13.10 (saucy)

2014-04-23 Thread JockeTF
I can confirm this issue for Ubuntu GNOME 14.04.

It keeps switching keyboard layout to English even though I only have a
single Swedish keyboard layout in the input sources. I haven't been able
to see a pattern to the switching. It appears to be happening at random.

I use an external keyboard with my laptop. Messing around with the
settings via gsettings switches it back to Swedish temporarily.
Sometimes playing around with the input sources causes the system
settings window to freeze.

[Bug 740387] Re: graphical corruption with multiple drivers and classic desktop

2011-04-06 Thread JockeTF
I see corruption as well, when I right click on the desktop I often get
this result:

http://i.imgur.com/Ou9QJ.png

As you can see, parts of the window and panel aren't redrawn (and they
probably shouldn't be, the menu never covered the window nor the panel).
The artifacts persists until I force the panel and window to redraw by
moving them around or switching workspace. It seems to happen more often
when I right click in the lower left corner of the desktop.

I also often get some strange results when a window is set to "always on
top" and "visible on all workspaces" and I switch workspace:

http://i.imgur.com/Vdr0x.png

The problem completely disappears when I start a compositing manager.

If I use GStreamer with ALSA only or a non-GStreamer media player with

[Bug 739405] Re: Resize grip drawing over scrollbar arrow button

This doesn't only affect Firefox. I can see the handle overlapping other
widgets in gnome-terminal, Pidgin, Audacious and the engine selection in
gnome-appearance-properties. None of the widgets are as important as the
scroll bar buttons, but the overlapping handle seems to be a problem
affecting many applications in Natty.

[Bug 726902] Re: Loss of vsync when using Metacity.

2011-03-29 Thread JockeTF
I noticed the same thing in Natty with Xv textured video on Intel
i945GM. The tearing seems to disappear when using Xv video overlay.

You can try this in mplayer with the following command:

$  mplayer -vo xv:adaptor=1

Or by setting XvPreferOverlay to true in xorg.conf, the intel man page
says the following about XvPreferOverlay:

"Make hardware overlay be the first XV adaptor. The overlay behaves
incorrectly in the presence of compositing, but some prefer it due to it
syncing to vblank in the absence of compositing. While most XV-
using applications have options to select which XV adaptor to use, this
option can be used to place the overlay first for applications which
don't have options for selecting adaptors. Default: Textured video
adaptor is preferred."

i'm not sure I had this problem in Maverick as the man page says that
textured video does not sync to vblank. I really did notice the tearing
after upgrading to Natty though. I can't try with the OpenGL output as
it is broken over here.

[Bug 537871] Re: Indicator background doesn't match gtk theme default background

2011-03-04 Thread JockeTF
I confirm this bug for Ubuntu Natty Alpha 3. I'm attaching two
screenshots while using a theme that has a different color for the panel
background and text than the GTK window colors.

Without custom colors: http://i.imgur.com/NNKdM.png
With custom colors: http://i.imgur.com/Ncnmc.png

Compare the upper indicator applets with the lower window list applet in
the screenshots. As you can see the indicator applets look out of place
when I'm not using custom colors.

When I do use custom colors the text becomes very difficult to read.
This depends on the color I select for the panels but as the indicator
applets uses a different color than the rest I would have to pick a
different color for panels containing only indicator applets. All other
applets except for the indicator applets use the panel colors instead of
the window colors.

I did not have this problem with the indicator applet in Ubuntu
Maverick.

2010-10-18 Thread JockeTF
I had the same problem, Cameron Matheson's patch fixed it for me.

[Bug 546688] Re: gnome/metacity full screen problem

2010-06-28 Thread JockeTF
If you use Alt+F11 as the shortcut, make sure that Tomboy isn't stealing
the keypress as it defaults to using Alt+F11 for one of its own
shortcuts.

I have the same problem in Karmic 32-bit. It doesn't crash at start but
with the same error after a few minutes of usage.

[Bug 376092] Re: [i945] Running Out of Memory with UXA (KMS)

2009-05-24 Thread JockeTF
I have the same problem too.

I have an Intel 945GM. The problem occurs for me while using both
Jaunty's and Karmic's kernel. Upgrading xorg-xserver-video-intel to
2.7.1 from ubuntu-x-swat doesn't solve the problem either. I use the
32-bit version of Ubuntu with the generic kernel.
