Thanks for checking up on me. Actually I reinstalled Ubuntu just today. I had mistakenly deleted the Ubuntu partition on my HD and couldn't even boot up Vista. So in desperation I reinstalled the Ubuntu OS and it restored everything. Then I had to install the flash plugins to Firefox and that did the trick! I surmise that previously there was some glitch in the plugin that prevented the playback of video clips. This was strange, because I had surely installed and reinstalled the flash plugins to no avail. Anyway all's well that ends well. Thanks again. Joe Joe Fine 15718 Cranberry Ct.
