[Bug 532633] Re: [Master] Window Control buttons: position/order/alignment
Mark, I prefer the left-side layout, but what is your answer to how it will work with gnome-shell? Assuming Ubuntu in the future will use gnome- shell instead of metacity+gnome-panel, that being the direction that upstream is taking, have you or your design team considered the effect a maximized window having its window controls right under the hot corner for entering the overlay? -- [Master] Window Control buttons: position/order/alignment https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532633 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 288596] Re: 8.10 rc candidate install: dbus machine-id file empty
Same problem here, on a fresh install of intrepid, which I installed by saving the kernel and initrd images from http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/gutsy/main/installer- amd64/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/ to a partition, installing grub using a live cd, and booting from the hard disk and instructing grub to load those images. After rebooting into the newly installed system, X didn't react to keyboard or mouse input. Manually adding InputDevice lines to xorg.conf solved that. Then upon logging in, I got HAL failed to initialize (I assume the X keyboard and mouse problems was because of that). I then followed the same sequence of events as described above, and googling the UUID file should contain... message led me to this bug report. -- 8.10 rc candidate install: dbus machine-id file empty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

solution from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=582551page=2 (I haven't tested it): Problem solved. [Bug 32963] Re: Xv movies on 810/i945 gives horrible color, Gamma
I have seen this bug on two laptops. On at least one of them (a ThinkPad T60 with an Intel GMA950), I see this bug with totem-xine and gxine, but not totem-gstreamer, vlc or mplayer. Two interesting things: * If I have VLC playing a video when I open a video in totem-xine, that instance of totem-xine does not show the bug. Closing both players and then opening the video in totem-xine again makes the bug reappear. * Once I've played a video with gxine, it seems to infect the other players (or at least vlc), which then also shows this bug until I log out. Definitely seems xine-related to me. Has anyone seen this bug on a system which uses totem-gstreamer and never had xine installed? -- Xv movies on 810/i945 gives horrible color, Gamma https://launchpad.net/bugs/32963 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
