[Bug 1154740] Re: Incorrect Incorrect answer message in parallel / meridian question
Thanks Simon In your first comment, you say A meridian is a line of constant longitude passing between the poles and through a given place on the earth's surface. That is, meridians traverse from east to west like the lines of longitude. See: http://www.firefightermath.org/index.php?option=com_contentview=articleid=61Itemid=75 Longitude lines (called meridians) run north and south and circle the planet from pole to pole. Or: http://www.rmg.co.uk/explore/astronomy-and-time/astronomy- facts/history/the-prime-meridian-at-greenwich A meridian is a north-south line selected as the zero reference line for astronomical observations. Based on this the proposal in your last comment is incorrect. Let me know your thoughts. Feel free to propose a new improved sentence. [Bug 774142] Re: logic error in a logic puzzle
It is not grammatical. Three times what older than his son? You can be 5 years older than his son, but three times is not some quantity, it is simply incomplete. If you have a number X, 3 times that number is 3x. It is not incomplete, depends on another variable. The only thing it could mean, if it meant anything, is that the son is y years old, and the father is 3 times y years older, making him y + 3 y = 4 y years old. [Bug 682714] Re: two possible true answers, only one accepted in number row quiz
Hello, Just for clarification, your point is that since the number '9' is shown twice, ambiguity arises. Then, your proposed solution is to avoid showing repeated numbers. Correct? [Bug 675540] Re: gbrainy problems
Hello, I'm currently travelling. When I'm back home I will have a look to these issues. I'm very interested in the bugs in the German translation. Here you have the German translation file: http://git.gnome.org/browse/gbrainy/tree/po/de.po If you spot any bug, please open a new bug detailing the sentences that you propose to change. [Bug 675540] Re: gbrainy problems
Hello, Thanks for your feedback Sven. I fully agree than correct English and translations is key for gbrainy. Something were I and the translators have put lots of effort, but it is still not perfect. This is why your feedback is important. Can you please open a separate ticket with the problems with the German translation? I will ask the translator to fix them.. Regarding the time to memorize puzzles, if you find it to hard, you can adjust the time in the preferences. The other issues, I will have a look at home later. [Bug 666514] Re: Wrong answer for question about 9 in numbers 10-100
Hello, Thanks Roman for taking the time to report this issue. In my opinion gbrainy's answer is correct. See: 1- 19 2- 29 3- 39 4- 49 5- 59 6- 69 7- 79 8- 89 9- 90 10- 91 11- 92 12- 93 13- 94 14- 95 15- 96 16- 97 17- 98 18 and 19- 99 A total of 19 numbers '9'. Let me know if you think otherwise. [Bug 654742] Re: Gross mistake about palindromic years
Hello Daniel, I will not classify this error as 'gross', mainly because: * The sentence says usually, it is not saying that this arithmetic applies to all years. * This sentence is part of the explanation of why the answer is valid, then it has no impact on the user (still accepting valid answers and making a valid question). However, a game that demands precisions to players should obviously precise when making questions and explaining the solution of puzzles. A more precise explanation will be: From year 1.000 to year 10.000, palindrome years occur at 110 year intervals except for the end of each millennium that occur at a 11 years interval. If you agree this change, I will applied and it will be ready for next version. If not a more precise version is welcomed. [Bug 622554] Re: Wrong wording on the dice answer
Thanks. Let me clarify, the answer that gbrainy is giving and accepting as valid is correct: 9/36 (or equivalent). What is wrong is the explanation of the valid answer: There are 9 of 36 possibilities of getting an even number it should say: There are 9 of 36 possibilities of getting simultaneously an even number in each one of the dice. Please, confirm that you agree (or not) in this. The answer that gbrainy is giving is correct. Remember that both events (having even numbers in both dices) must happen simultaneously.
