[Bug 68741] Cause (and workaround) found.
There are two types of PXE-based installs: those that use internet mirrors, and those that use a local mirror with files taken from installation media (tipically a mounted .iso file available on a local http server) The PXE installer, however, always checks on-line for an updated list of packages, and assumes your local mirror will be up-to-date with security updates. It fails when it finds the old versions of packages. One way to instruct the installer not to use the updated list is to prevent the box being installed from accessing the internet. This can be done by feeding it a bogus router on the DHCP configuration, like this: host being_installed { hardware ethernet 00:12:34:56:78:9A; filename netboot/pxelinux.0; option routers 127.0.0.1; } Please close. [Bug 60310] Evolution wipes the Inbox when using Local Delivery
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Description: When Evolution is configured to receive mail using Local Delivery, it clears the Inbox every time I close the session. Version: 2.6.1-0ubuntu7 Steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure there are messages in /var/spool/mail/username (for instance by copying an existent mailbox) 2. Configure an account in Evolution, using the Local Delivery method for incoming mail, and point it to /var/spool/mail/username (or /var/mail/username) 3. Read the messages in the Inbox (without deleting them) 4. [Bug 49269] Re: installing server variant from alternate, file not found
This bug is still marked as Needs info. I think it should be pretty straight-forward to confirm it: the network install needs a file that was released a week after the official Dapper release. -- installing server variant from alternate, file not found https://launchpad.net/bugs/49269 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 49269] Re: installing server variant from alternate, file not found
I ran into this same bug while using the DVD ISO (ubuntu-6.06-dvd-i386.iso). I should also point out that I tried the installation kernels from the DVD (/install/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/linux) as well as the ones found in http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz/netboot.tar.gz Everything points to the security update (USN-292-1) from june 9th; for some reason the installer expects the upgraded binutils version. -- installing server variant from alternate, file not found https://launchpad.net/bugs/49269 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
