Hi Greg, I can confirm that the bug is still present on Hardy. Can't confirm it on Gutsy, because my phone can't never be connected on that version. On hardy seems that my new phone (N95) can connect without issues, but when I switch it off, the phone-manager remain connected. [Bug 80419] Re: Can't end installation via apt
This is how i solve it. I changed in /usr/bin/vmware-config-network.pl the line 4337: db_add_answer('VNET_' . $vHubNr . '_INTERFACE', $ethIf); with the following: db_add_answer('VNET_' . $vHubNr . '_INTERFACE', 'eth0'); With this change I ensure that eth0 will be the interface that vmware will use instead of ath0 that were selected by default and that didn't work. After that, at least in my case installation could be finished with success. -- Can't end installation via apt https://launchpad.net/bugs/80419 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 80419] Re: Can't end installation via apt
Same in Herd 3. I think that i could locate the issue. In /etc/vmware/locations i have this line: answer VNET_0_INTERFACE ath0 My ath0 is usually disconected. If i change this line to use eth0, i can run the vmware-player without issues. So, if the package installation ask the user to use an specific network adapter, this issue must be solved.
