[Bug 840455] Re: banshee failed to exit on logout and started using 100% cpu

2011-09-04 Thread Keith Allcock
I have just had an issue with this on the 11.10 beta on my eee 901.

First run of banshee with no media (the intention to change the location of the
music to scan my NAS), it did nothing after pressing for preferences.
Then checked with system monitor and it was chewing up 100% cpu, I killed the
banshee process and it caused a kernel panic and crashed out to terminal.

Sorry, not yet .. on the EEE as mentioned I am still using the liveCD so

Would the touch option work if I allow it to sleep instead of a reboot ?

Ok, this looks like it confirms it.

1st boot:
On cable, connect to wireless, all ok
Put lid down to go into standby
Lid up, wireless reconnects correctly

2nd Boot:
On cable, connect to wireless, all ok
Disconnect power, connection remains stable
Put lid down to go into standby
Lid up, wireless fails to re-connect (device not present message shown in the
panel applet)

3rd Boot:
On cable, connect to wireless, all ok
Disconnect power, connection remains stable
Run the touch commands
Put lid down to go into standby
Lid up, wireless reconnects correctly

[Bug 647404] Re: Udev worker error during boot worker [XX] did not accept message -1 (Connection refused), kill it

2010-11-25 Thread Keith Allcock
Playing with trying to get udev to log something with the following
result:

Changing /etc/udev/udev.conf to log debug info and changing /etc/default/grub
to not have quiet on the default boot options, shows the errors come before
this line:
usb 1-8: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

... but there is too much info on screen and nothing is in any log files
(specifically the worker lines we all see)

Without the logging option, I can then tell that the errors should be between
these two entries;
kernel: [1.394993] EXT4-fs (sda1): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode
kernel: [1.528061] usb 1-8: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

and when udev is in debug you can see these parts are run
/scripts/local-bottom

Unfortunately when the grub option has the quiet removed you don't get
the error lines showing so I can't see any more details.

Does anyone know how to switch on some logging to show what happens
between the two logged lines?

[Bug 266927] Re: Static sound on Left Channel with hda-intel STAC 9221 A1

2010-10-18 Thread Keith Allcock
Ok, looks like this has solved the issue for me!
As I have thought it was fixed a couple of times, I have left it longer to make
sure, and it is fine.

As it is a MythTV box then its left to suspend as it sees fit, and so
has suspended/resumed many times with no recurrence of the static.

Only side effect has been the audio controls shown in alsamixer are now
different, so I assume it has detected the hardware differently ...

[Bug 624524] Re: Display only a few in software-center!

2010-09-11 Thread Keith Allcock
I have the same problem.
My list of installed software shows : 7zip, Advanced Desktop Effects Settings
and Personal file sharing.

Although the issue may seem trivial it does make the software centre lose
credibility.
I also upgraded distro to maverick from lucid...

[Bug 579804] Re: Store/read tags inside photos

2010-08-22 Thread Keith Allcock
I also want this feature, but would also echo what themuddler said. As task to
sync metadata on demand would be perfect
This way those who do not want to update the master copy will not need to, and
I can tag files on my eee on wireless, then plug in a cable to run the real
file transaction (All photos are on my NAS).
