[Bug 1520988] Re: Copy of large files from USB3 card reader fails mid-way
By the way, should I report a new bug for the different machine? Just to write this down while I have it fresh in my mind, I have the tested the card reader with a * Thinkpad X220 with a fairly fast SSD where copying always seems to work just fine on all three usb ports (where one is "blue" USB 3) * Ideacentre A740 with a slow SSHD where copying sometimes fails, especially with large video files, and all ports seem to be USB 3 * HP Spectre x360 with a fast SSD where copying always fails even with "small" (20M) files, as long as I copy several files at once (copying one, then waiting, then copying another seems to work fairly well) – haven't tried videos yet. I can workaround the problem by using a USB 2 cable instead of the Lexar-supplied USB 3 cable. I've tried upgrading the Spectre to the HWE kernel (4.8.0-39-generic), which made no difference. I've tried putting usbcore.autosuspend=-1 usbcore.autosuspend_delay_ms=-1 in grub, which made no difference. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1520988 Title: Copy of large files from USB3 card reader fails mid-way To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1520988/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics
For those on XFCE, gnome-screensaver won't lock on idle – it requires gnome-session running in order to do that: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5927 A more permanent "solution" for XFCE users is to sudo apt-get purge light-locker sudo apt-get install xscreensaver # To make the "switch users" button know that you use lightdm: echo 'xscreensaver.newLoginCommand: dm-tool switch-to-greeter' >> ~/.Xresources The downside is that you have to enter your password twice when you do "switch users" to an already logged-in user. ** Bug watch added: Xfce Bugzilla #5927 https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5927 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1568604 Title: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1568604/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1463422] [NEW] Lenovo A740 doesn't poweroff on shutdown
Public bug reported: If I do systemctl poweroff or use any GUI to try to shut down, it gets to the stage of [ OK ] Reached target Shutdown reboot: System halted but just sits there unresponsive, and does not actually power down. Similarly, if I try running fwts -P, the hibernate test seems like it crashes the computer (screen is on but unresponsive), then if I click the power button twice, it resumes from hibernation just fine. If I try to reboot, it's almost the same, except the display shows weird psychedelic lines and colours, but everything is unresponsive and I have to click (and this time *hold* not just simple click) the power button. I can reboot fine from GRUB with ctrl+alt+delete. I've kept the Windows partition that came with the computer, that also powers down and reboots fine. If I click the power button while Ubuntu is started, it powers off immediately. I originally asked a question at https://askubuntu.com/questions/632591 /system-does-not-power-off-on-poweroff-just-halts but I don't think it has an answer since this seems more likely to be a kernel bug. [Bug 1349056] Re: xfce4-power-manager doesn't suspend on lid closed (regression)

[Bug 1350693] [NEW] no suspend nor lock on lid close though acpi_listen shows events
Public bug reported: Suspend on lid close has been working fine for me up until some recent (last month-ish) update. Now, when I close the lid, the screen goes dark, but the suspend-light doesn't blink, and when I open it is not locked and the laptop has obviously not suspended. I've tried echo options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf (then rebooting) and sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off with no luck. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316248 Title: 8086:08b1 (rev 73) [Dell Inspiron 15R 5537] Wifi 7260 continuous disconnections To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1316248/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1247137] [NEW] zenity 3.8 --list outputs first answer twice separated by a pipe
Public bug reported: Selecting the first item from $ zenity --list --column Item Apples Oranges Pears Toothpaste now returns `Apples|Apples` while in 3.6 it returned just `Apples`. Similarly, $ zenity --list --column id --column Item 1 Apples 2 Oranges 3 Pears 4 Toothpaste now returns `1|1` instead of `1`. This messes up a lot of scripts expecting the old behaviour. (originally reported at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=711251 but the bug doesn't appear in git master, nor apparantly in 3.8 as installed by the developer) ** Affects: zenity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1247137 Title: zenity 3.8 --list outputs first answer twice separated by a pipe To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zenity/+bug/1247137/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1022322] Re: GNOME keyring often fails to unlock in XFCE
Note: when upgrading to 12.10, it tries to remove XFCE from the list and add MATE (though asks you whether to accept the change). [Bug 1084434] [NEW] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
Public bug reported: I had a crash last Monday on Xubuntu 12.04.1 LTS. It happened after browsing with Firefox for some hours IIRC. I did a kernel update from linux-image-3.2.0-29-generic:amd64 to linux-image-3.2.0-33-generic:amd64 the previous Thursday, so it might have been introduced then. The mouse pointer was movable, everything else was still, clicking had no effect, keyboard had no effect (e.g. tried ctrl+alt+f1, I didn't know about alt+sysrq before now) The laptop is a Thinkpad X220 with a hardware switch to turn off and on all radio (wifi, bluetooth, 3G) so I tried that, it had no effect. Then I tried ssh-ing into the machine, and apparantly network-manager was still running and had managed to connect after I switched wifi off and on again. From within ssh everything seemed just fine. I tried killing firefox and restarting lightdm, this had no effect though (how does one restart X in Xubuntu?). I will collect more info if it happens again (saw https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingSystemCrash after I had rebooted), but for now I've pasted the relevant bits from /var/log/syslog* at http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/1393943/ (all the way down to where I hit the radio switch). Please let me know if there's any more info I can collect, I don't know how to provoke the bug though. $ apt-cache policy xorg xorg: Installert: 1:7.6+12ubuntu1 Kandidat: 1:7.6+12ubuntu1 Versjonstabell: *** 1:7.6+12ubuntu1 0 500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: xorg 1:7.6+12ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-33.52-generic 3.2.31 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-33-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu15 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Nov 29 09:26:05 2012 InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot - Release amd64 (20111012) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=nn:en TERM=screen PATH=(custom, user) LANG=nn_NO.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: xorg UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-05-11 (201 days ago) ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084434 Title: [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed...
