[Bug 467127] Re: ksoftirqd/0 hogs one core after resume from suspend
@Maciej S Try killing the process udisks-daemon before suspending. It seems that actually accessing (polling/reading) the dvd drive after a suspend/resume triggers this bug. I don't need the dvd drive anyway, so I blacklisted it for now for udisks-daemon through udev rules (see Bug #379780 if you're interested) but of course it's definitely not a permanent solution. PS: The IDE channels are driven by the driver pata_sis. we could really need the hardware documentation for this chip. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/467127 Title: ksoftirqd/0 hogs one core after resume from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/467127/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 467127] Re: ksoftirqd/0 hogs one core after resume from suspend
@Maciej S Wow, that's certainly a find! I can confirm that removing the dvd drive solves the problem for me as well. Replacing the drive does not work, which leads me to the conclusion which Cristian already wrote, that it's probably a failure in the sis sata driver. from lspci -k : 00:05.0 IDE interface: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] SATA Controller / IDE mode (rev 03) Subsystem: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] Device 1180 Kernel driver in use: sata_sis Kernel modules: sata_sis which would lead to drivers/ata/sata_sis.c in the source if I see this correctly. Unfortunately that's where my knowledge ends.
[Bug 571473] Re: add support for application indicator
Mohegan: Your source only showed an empty menu for me after the indicator is created, I had to move the sico_activated (NULL); three lines down, after the menu is set. I'm too lazy to append a patch, but I thought I'd share if someone runs into the same problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571473 Title: add support for application indicator To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cryptkeeper/+bug/571473/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 802527] Re: Stacking problem when switching between apps with multiple windows
This bug is really annoying, especially when dealing with maximized windows since you *expect* that the window in front of you is active and the window controls are controlling it. It's been several times now that I lost some stuff because I closed the wrong window. This is really really *really* annoying. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/802527 Title: Stacking problem when switching between apps with multiple windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/802527/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 741837] Re: [natty] problem opengl in unity
Maybe we should mark this as wishlist since I clearly don't see a technical reason for those high hardware requirements. Or does Unity use some fancy effects which wouldn't be able to be implemented in older hardware? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/741837 Title: [natty] problem opengl in unity -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 741837] Re: [natty] problem opengl in unity
The same happens on RV280. I experience this bug on an Asus F5VL laptop. I could reproduce it on all Ubuntu versions I tested. (32 and 64 bit versions of Ubuntu 9.04, 9.10, 10.04 and 10.10 using stock and mainline kernels).
