[Bug 952108] Re: [Precise] Nautilus: memory leak

2013-01-28 Thread Lokard
I had the same problem on Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 64bits. I left my computer
running during the week-end (with 4 programs running with < 100Mio usage
each) and I ended up with nautilus eating 3 Gio RAM. It was the limit of
my RAM and I was lucky enough to have enough responsiveness when I came
back to identify and kill nautilus.

This is a critical bug since it can render a computer non-responsive if
nautilus is not killed in time, however as it seems to be increasing
over a long period of time, it is difficult to pinpoint what is wrong.
The fact that this bug don't seem to be widespread also suggest that
either the flavor of Ubuntu used is rare (12.04 64 ?), or that some
special events must occur for this bug to manifest itself.

Notes :
- I don't remember having any nautilus opened
- I don't have big pictures that would need a lot of thumbnail
- I use nautilus-terminal

[Bug 753377] Re: Privacy problem: on resume Unity bar visible through GDM

2012-06-15 Thread Lokard
I have this bug in 12.04 when I go back from a locked session.

Why do we still use this dialog box when we could systematically use the
gdm greeter whenever we quit/lock/switch users ?

[Bug 780399] Re: Wizard doesn't run without libreoffice-java-common installed. The user should be notified to install it when running a wizard.

2012-05-01 Thread Lokard
This is still a bug in Precise. Installing the libreoffice-java-common
solves the issue, but nobody would know this.

There should either be no option for wizards that can't work, or the
package should be installed by default, but right know it is just wrong.

[Bug 966112] Re: maximizing a window snapped to the side doesn't work properly

2012-04-27 Thread Lokard
I found this bug in both 11.10 and 12.04, in several computers and with
both clean and upgraded installs. It happens for every applications I
tried (firefox, libreoffice, nautilus...), systematically, and since I
use the sided windows a lot, it is really annoying.

The window acts as if it is in a pseudo-maximized state when stuck to
the grid (left side, right side, even corners), so that when the
maximize button is clicked, the window reverts back to an unmaximized
state and a second click is needed to actually make it fullscreen.

Also, I noticed that when snapping off the window from a sided position,
the mouse cursor appears several inches above the window (instead of
grabbing the title bar). I'm not sure if this is related to this bug,
but it adds to the irritation.

[Bug 966112] [NEW] maximizing a window snapped to the side doesn't work properly

2012-03-27 Thread Lokard
Public bug reported:

Clicking the maximize button fails to maximise the window after it was
snapped to the side.

Steps to reproduce :
- open any (resizable) window like firefox, nautilus
- drag it to the left or right of the screen so that it snaps and covers half
the screen
- then click the maximize button

What happens:
- the window is not resized but the controls (buttons + menu) disappear (they
don't appear in the global menu either). The only way to move and resize the
window again is to drag it with the alt key to make the controls reappear.
- or the window is simply resized (smaller arbitrary size) while keeping the
controls.

What should happen:
The window should be maximized properly as expected.

Note that if the window is dragged to the top instead of clicking the
maximize button, it works properly.

Release: Ubuntu precise (beta), Unity 5.8.0

** Affects: unity (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 681348] Re: Build "show me the desktop" mini-app that adds a show desktop button to Launcher

2011-11-17 Thread Lokard
That's too bad. I really wish that the user could customize this bottom-left
part instead of being stuck with the trash icon (that I never use, in my case).
But this may be the subject of another "bug".
Anyway, thanks for your work.

[Bug 858463] Re: open folder opens totem video player

2011-10-16 Thread Lokard
I created a test user and there is no problem: so it's a user issue.

It can be solved (for each user) by changing the file
~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list and remove the association
between dirs and totem (inode/directory=totem.desktop) from default
application and added applications.

Now, the issue is, I have never associated a folder with totem to be
used by default. Worse : there is no easy way to change these
associations like it is possible with files.

Suggestion : add the same "Open With" tab in directories properties as
the files properties, where one can choose the apps associated, remove
them and choose the default without editing the mimeapps.list (I'm not
talking about the "Open With..." option that one gets when one right
clicks).

Another bug in this "turn off delay" : both 30 minutes and 1 hour delays
are actually just 10 minutes. That was actually the case before the
addition of the 'Never' (which still doesn't work right now).

[Bug 858463] Re: open folder opens totem video player

2011-10-01 Thread Lokard
The same thing happens to me when :
- I open the trash icon from the left panel
- I open a folder from Firefox (where a downloaded file is saved)
- I plug in a usb key/external disk (autostart)

I did an upgrade from 10.04, and I think this bug was there from the
start (beta 1).
