[Bug 1530639] [NEW] Characters in workgroup name converted to lower case
Public bug reported: Hello, When opening the server settings dialog box, the workgroup name is displayed in lowercase characters even when the name is written in uppercase in smb.conf. When making any change in security server settings (menu preferences/server settings/security), the workgroup name is written back in smb.conf characters as it is displayed , that is, lowercase. So the user must also write again the workgroup name in uppercase characters before saving changes to avoid any uncertainty. It could be welcome that the case of the workgroup name won't change when displaying the server settings. [Bug 765736] Re: Thunderbird won't stay in launcher and no quicklist
Well, at first sight, I would to say I have the same bug with U12.04 LTS [uname gives Linux A64 3.5.0-29-generic #49~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 8 00:08:45 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux apt-cache policy unity gives unity: Installé : 5.18.0-0ubuntu2 Candidat : 5.18.0-0ubuntu2 ...] 1) TB doesn't appear in the dashboard when I type "thunderbird" while it is already installed. 2) I launch TB with a terminal. The icon in the Launcher is a grey question mark, not the nice blue bird. If I select "keep in the launcher" on the TB icon, then log out then log in again , TB is not kept in the Launcher. 3) I lauch TB, again with a terminal. The grey icon for TB appears in the launcher, ok. Then I use dconf-editor for a check. When I set "keep in the launcher" on TB icon, dconf-editor shows immediatly the item 'thunderbird.desktop' in the favorites list (see desktop/unity/launcher in the left panel), but if I set "keep in the launcher" for another application that is not already in the list (for instance dconf-editor), then 'dconf-editor.desktop' appears and 'thunderbird.desktop' is deleted. Too much entries ? No. If I launch another application (gparted), I may keep it in the launcher, its item 'gparted.desktop' is added in the favorites list and the one of dconf-editor is always in the list. Now, if I remove gparted, dconf-editor stays in the list of favorites and so on. At second sight, I found a strange file ~/.local/share/applications/thunderbird.desktop which properties are: Command: /opt/thunderbirdV14/thunderbird %u This is a remaining of my previous install (U10.04 LTS). I needed to install TB V14 in /opt instead of the standard install for an obscur reason of french locating missing( hey, that's sound the very first post). It seems the upgrade to U12.04 is corrupted by this old file although it seems the right file is at the right place: ~/.gnome2/panel2.d/default/launchers/thunderbird.desktop. Then I deleted the .desktop in .local and all is ok now: TB is visible in the Dashboard, the blue icon is used, TB stays in the Launcher. All this to give perhaps a clue to other users having the same troubles. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/765736 Title: Thunderbird won't stay in launcher and no quicklist To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bamf/+bug/765736/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 585050] [NEW] Setting the page settings (Portrait/landscape, margins, ...) should be linked to the sheet
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org I am working on a document with several sheets. In each sheet, I define a "print area" with the command Format/Print ranges/Define. Then the print range parameters are linked to the sheet. This is great. But, when I want to print really each area,I must in each case set the page settings (Format/Page command) :portrait/landscape, margins and so on (unfortunately, my needs are not the same from one sheet to another one), This is because the settings are not linked to a sheet but to the whole spreadsheet. [Bug 480298] [NEW] new line in a cell appears as a blanck character
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org We know we can have a new line in a cell with Ctrl-Enter. So, if you type the sky is bluethe cloud is white you obtain the sky is blue the cloud is white. But if you analyse the string (to manage it or transform it) you cannot find a special character that shows you where is "new line". The crtl-enter is replaced by a blank character (ascii value 32). [Bug 231553] Re: Openoffice makes Ubuntu 8.04 LTS freezes
(continued) Things are not so simple... My 2 comments here above (yesterday) are about Calc. (Sorry I don't know how to edit these comments). A new clue about Calc: When I click on a menu I said OpenCalc freeze. Ok, but if I click and move very quick the mouse out of the space of the menu, the menu appears and OpenOffice don't freeze. I mean, I may close the menu for instance with a simple click next the menu. If I choose to keep the menu visible, I can choose a command (print for instance) if I move the mouse directly to the name of the command from the outside ! And it works ! Now from my today's trial. When I double click on a file *.odt, Writer is launched, but only the window OpenOffice is opened (see attached snapshot). The other applications are OK . After 3-4 mn, the doc appear in the window with all the bars, tools and icons. If I launch OpenWriter alone via the menu, it's the same: a blanck window while 3-4 mn, then the default file. BUT: if open a *.doc file (from Word Microsoft ), the text appears immediatly then Openoffice is freezed the same time. After "de-freezing", if I click on a menu's title, the title is replaced by a colored rectangle and OpenOffice freezes again and so on ... Instead of choosing a menu, if I click on a button (like save or print or "view before print"), it works well. >From several attempts and trials, some time I can or cannot use the main menus (Applications, links, System, ...), some time I can or cannot close OpenOffice with the close button (right up corner). The system don't seem really working as you can see in the main bar the 6 system's monitor. [Bug 113185] copy command hang on invalid file name
Public bug reported: I get the following message when I copy a file in which name there is the Euro symbol (€). Here is the message translated from French: file not found while copying "smb://g5/D2079_.mht". The exact name finish with " ...contre les 79€.mht". The Euro symbol is replaced by underscore . I confirm also there is no "20" in front of "79" in the real name. The message in itself is not the problem (perhaps I miss a parameter to make nautilus understanding fat32, ok). The problem is that nautilus somewhat "hang". Click on Ignore, cancel or try again erase the message, but the dialog box of the copy command stay and nothing is copied. You need to close all nautilus windows to kill the copy. I got the message while copying a whole directory in which there is the file. Then, when I list the files in the repertory, nautilus list the file with " ...contre les 79_.mht" (without "20", with underscore). I can select the file in the list. but if I right click on the name (to choose a copy command), the file name disappear ! file is currently on a FAT32 disk (I guess) under windows 95.
