[Bug 108899] Re: wrong dictionary PT_BR (is the same PT_PT)
Also, the default dictonary is kind of buggy. Like: some words only exists in plural, some time contractions are not recognizable but the word exists without it (and vice-versa). This Brazilian version is used in BrOffice, which is being adopted as the default in schools and universities. We want people to use OpenOffice in Ubuntu, instead of searching google or asking a friend to install BrOffice, which could conflict with the first (you uninstall or you stay with 2 OpenOffice, and none of them are a good alternative). So, if Brazilian people could have a good dictionary bundle in Ubuntu`s OpenOffice it would be great to both teams, and great for us to. -- wrong dictionary PT_BR (is the same PT_PT) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108899 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 106767] Re: Metacity fails to start in Fesity
Never used Compiz, Beryl, I have an ATi. There is no .gnomerc here to. Maybe an update from Feisty fixed, because since yesterday or the day before it (17) metacity problem is gone. -- Metacity fails to start in Fesity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 106767] Metacity fails to start in Fesity
Public bug reported: Since some days (the problem started somewhere between 11th and 13th) Metacity randomically fails to start at the beginning. It maybe a small problem, since running metacity in the terminal or in run application. But it annoies a bit. A new user could have a lot of trouble with this. And some times I can`t reach the menu and I have to kill some applications I have left open when I powered off my system, as I save my session. The thing is, I am not using beryl nor compiz. My card is a ATi and It doesn`t support composition. So I never used Desktop Effects from Feisty. Thanks in advance. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Metacity fails to start in Fesity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 103176] Re: [feisty] Boot time slow, hangs on configuring network interfaces
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 102675 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102675 For me this is a bug of most importance. None previous versions took so long to boot with wifi enabled. My Feisty could take something like 20s but takes almost 1min (something like 40s or more). So it hangs something like 20s just in configuring network interfaces. The roaming thing is a great idea, network manager is also really good, but this boot time really annoys anyone. Thanks in advance. See above. Roaming is enabled for me for all my network devices and my /etc/network/interfaces is big too, include all the space above the command (five line breaks in the end): $ cat /etc/network/interfaces auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth1 iface eth1 inet dhcp auto eth2 iface eth2 inet dhcp auto ath0 iface ath0 inet dhcp auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp -- [feisty] Boot time slow, hangs on configuring network interfaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103176 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 84876] Gnome settings manager error to start desktop
Public bug reported: I don`t know if it`s a HAL problem, or a daemon problem from gnome- settings-daemon. When I log into gdm, GNOME takes a long time to start, and then starts with a error: An error has occurred while initiating the Settings Manager. Some settings, like theme, sounds or wallpaper may not work properly. The error message was: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. GNOME will try to load settings manager in the next time it starts. (Just the core message Did not receive a reply is in it`s correct english form, the rest I translated from Portuguese to English) What I did is to put gnome-settings-daemon in the Session menu, and then I get my default theme and wallpaper, but the error still occurs. I noticed, though, when I start GNOME without plugging any device, like Synaptics Touchpad (disabling it), usb Mice, ethernet cable and wifi (disabling it), the error doesn`t occurs or it`s not frequent. So, in short, the error appear most times, but not always, and in some special cases, like with unplugging devices, I generally don`t get the error and GNOME starts as fast as before. Technical info: Ubuntu 6.10 Acer Aspire 5672 WMLi, with Ati x1400 (using 8.28.8 drivers, newer ones doesn`t seems to work well) Thanks in advance. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Gnome settings manager error to start desktop https://launchpad.net/bugs/84876 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64936] Re: unreliable detection of battery state on Toshiba Satellite M70CL3
