[Bug 973778] Re: Unable to connect to Xfce Power Manager

2012-04-24 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
Same problem happened to me. It happened right after I installed the
xubuntu-desktop package, I logged out of Gnome and into XFCE, and I got
the message. I then rebooted my computer, and logging into XFCE directly
seems to solve the problem.

[Bug 946663] Re: Installer stuck at "Removing conflicting operating system files..."

2012-04-13 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
Looking at this, it seems that mostly everybody with this problem has an
additional NTFS partition. So basically to reproduce it you need this
partition schema:

* One partition mapped to /, format
* One partition mapped to /home, no format
* One NTFS partition, no format

Makes sense?

reason this ticket didn't appear on Google at the moment I reported it).
I has been marked as high priority in there and assigned.

[Bug 946663] Re: Installer stuck at "Removing conflicting operating system files..."

2012-03-20 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
Still happening on today's (march 20th) amd64 build.

I'm attaching a tgz file with the outputs of the commands requested by
James Hunt and the contents of /var/lib/partman. I am *not* enabling the
home directory encryption option (my /home directory already exists from
a previous install and it is on its own partition, as you can see).

Hope this helps.

Oh, I see the files got attached twice, sorry about that.

I should probably mention also that it's *not* that the installation
crashes, it just stays in the "Removing conflicting operating system
files" forever. You can continue entering the install information. You
can also expand the console on the installation window.

[Bug 946663] [NEW] Installer stuck at "Removing conflicting operating system files..."

2012-03-04 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
Public bug reported:

This is happening to me in both Ubuntu and Xubuntu 12.04 alpha install
CDs.

I have several partitions but I choose only two: one as the root (/) dir
which I choose for formatting, and one as /home without formatting. Both
are marked as ext4.

The installer formats the root partition and then it says "Removing
conflicting operating system files..." and it never leaves that state.

Before running the installer, I install the "Broadcom STA wireless"
drivers and enable my wifi connection.

[Bug 762554] Re: blueman-applet crashed with KeyError in io_event(): 2

2012-03-04 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
This is also happening on Xubuntu 12.04 install CD right after I install
the "Boradcom STA wireless" driver.

[Bug 776988] Re: alt+tab with static app switcher very slow (100% cpu)

2011-05-18 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
I just fixed this, turns out that the nVidia driver installed by default
wasn't the latest (it was version 173). Installing the latest
(recommended) version solved the problem.

[Bug 776988] Re: alt+tab with static app switcher very slow (100% cpu)

2011-05-11 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
Also, this only seems to happen with the "Application switcher" and
"Static application switcher" Compiz plugins. It does NOT happen with
the "Ring switcher", switching is instantaneous with that one.

[Bug 776988] Re: alt+tab with static app switcher very slow (100% cpu)

2011-05-11 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
This is also happening to me, it happened both when doing an upgrade
from 10.10 and when doing a clean install of 11.04. Alt+tab worked fine
for me in previous version. Now, it takes a little less than one second
to switch apps when it used to be instantaneous. I can confirm that CPU
usage goes to 100% when I press alt+tab repeatedly.

I'm also using the nVidia driver. Maybe it's related to this? I have a
GeForce 9500 GT board.

[Bug 107500] Re: Disk Errors with KVM on Feisty AMD64

2007-04-24 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
I should probably mention that that problem is not happening with qemu
only, and that the VM is on a ntfs-3g partition

[Bug 107500] Re: Disk Errors with KVM on Feisty AMD64

2007-04-24 Thread Marcelo Mottalli
Same thing happens to me. I've tried running several VMs, all of them fail at
some point. Feisty installation CD doesn't even get to the main menu.
When I tried installing Red Hat E.L. 4 64-bit, I got the "Lost interrupt"
errors, screenshot attached.

I have an AMD 64 3000+ processor, motherboard is MSI K9N Platinum
