[Bug 954386] [NEW] Disabling HUD also disables task switcher (alt-tab)
Public bug reported: On Unity 3D it seems the HUD is somewhat connected to task/window switching. If HUD is disabled, the standard unity task switcher is also disabled. When I initially detected this, I also had the standard unity task switcher disabled and the old standard compiz window switcher enabled (also mapped to alt-tab), and this was also affected. With HUD off, neither switcher works. Tested on two different systems; one Sandy Bridge (built in graphics) and one old ATI system. Seems it first appeared on an update two or three days ago. [Bug 856312] Re: Cant set resolution with two monitors
For my case, I think it was related to the proprietary ATI drivers (fglrx), suggested by Ubuntu after installing. I said go ahead, and installation failed, but I think it still managed to install enough so that the proprietary drivers were used after the next boot. That's when I got the error mentioned in this bug. Using the ATI supplied tools (amdccc) etc, I was able to extend the desktop, but only using Xinerama. I have an older ATI card (RV730), which may be related, as I chatted with another ATI user with a more recent card that claimed he was able to extend his desktop with amdccc without resorting to Xinerama. My solutions was to thoroughly clean the system of fglrx (using methods found through googling) and restart with the open source drivers, when everything seems to be working fine again (desktop extended - no problem). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/856312 Title: Cant set resolution with two monitors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/856312/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 783582] Re: [Aspire 3830TG, Conexant ID 506c, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all
Update on my problems; on further inspection the driver is probably not the reason why the speakers do not work. I rebooted into Windows, and I had the same problem there. [Bug 783582] Re: [Aspire 3830TG, Conexant ID 506c, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all
Confrimed here as well, Acer Aspire TimelineX 3830T running Ubuntu 11.04. Also brightness/backlight control widget works (slider slides up and down), but does not affect actual brightness/backlight, but that's certainly another bug report.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/783582 Title: [Aspire 3830TG, Conexant ID 506c, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/783582/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 783582] Re: [Aspire 3830TG, Conexant ID 506c, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all
I tested the debian package mentioned in #21; no go. Still silent. Played around with mixer settings and alsamixer as well. Still no sound.
[Bug 261721] Re: X never sees brightness key release events
I've got a Dell 6400 hundred as well, and just want to add that in my case when the keyboard stops working, no switching to VT and back gets the keyboard working again in X/Kwin (I'm using Kubuntu 8.10). Mouse works fine, but keyboard just stops working. It works on the VTs, but not in X. -- X never sees brightness key release events https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261721 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
