[Bug 1904789] Re: [snap] Cannot confirm security exception for invalid certificate

2021-02-24 Thread Francisco Robles Martín
Same issue here. I end up downloading the tar.bz2 package with the
latest version and installing it myself. Will keep an eye to move back
to snap once this is fixed :(

Hi again Brian!

The content of /etc/lsb-release is in the first bug description (at the
top of this page.

The output of the command (I executed it with /etc/lsb-release as well)
are:

$ dpkg -S /etc/lsb-release.oem-release
diversion by oem-release from: /etc/lsb-release
diversion by oem-release to: /etc/lsb-release.oem-release

$ dpkg -S /etc/lsb-release

[Bug 1915396] [NEW] /etc/lsb-release pointing to 18.04 after upgrade to 20.04

2021-02-11 Thread Francisco Robles Martín
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I have a Dell XPS 13 7390. It came with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS installed, and
then I upgraded it to 20.04 LTS (20.04.2 LTS).

I was installing git-lfs now, and thanks to the script they use to
determine the OS (https://packagecloud.io/install/repositories/github
/git-lfs/script.deb.sh detect_os function), I have found that in the
file /etc/lsb-release, it still points to 18.04. This is the current
content:

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=18.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=bionic
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (beaver-three-eyed-raven X92)"

Meanwhile, if I get the Ubuntu version with "lsb_release -a" command, I
get:

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
Release:20.04
Codename:   focal

Is this normal or there were some issue during the upgrade? Is the file
/etc/lsb-release deprecated? Should I fill it with the current values or
may I break something?

Thank you in advance!
Francisco Robles

[Bug 1856708] Re: Clipboard usability issues

2020-06-20 Thread Martín Ferrari
I'm also having this problem. Ubuntu 20.04, wine-5.0 (Ubuntu 5.0-3ubuntu1)
downloaded from the
official repository, Notepad++ 7.8.6.
Clipboard works fine a couple times after restarting notepad++, then at
some point I need to copy several times, then CTRL+C doesn't seem to work
anymore but right click/copy works, then clipboard stops working altogether
(but it works inside notepad++).

2020-05-18 Thread Pablo San Martín
On Ubuntu 20.04, I had the issue of copy-paste working every other time,
specifically on LibreOffice apps (Writer, Calc and Draw), not in any
other apps (Gedit, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.) or in the GNOME Shell.

However, disabling the Clipboard Indicator extension fixed this for me.

[Bug 1800858] [NEW] Ubuntu Installation crashes at grub installation

2018-10-31 Thread Martín Mora Roldán
Public bug reported:

I had a dual booot with Windows 10 and elementary, I also have a SSD in
which windows 10 was installed and elementary was installed on a HDD.
When I tried to install the new elementary distribution by erasing the
partition and creating a new one for the new OS the installation program
crashed at the grub installation, saying it was a fatal error, so I've
decided to try with Ubuntu 18.04.1 and the same thing happens. I always
select the SSD as the boot device. I've already tried to recover the
boot with boot-repair but it won't work, it says it can't solve the
problem and exits. I'm not sure this is a bug or if I'm doing something
wrong,but I searched in forums for some days now and I haven't found
nothing that helps me yet, I'd accept gladly any orientation to install
any linux distribution on my system. Thanks

[Bug 1319542] Re: Unity urgent animation needs an adjustable time length.

2018-04-08 Thread Martín Ferrari
Since the Launcher is not usable for me for the same reasons already stated (I
use Ubuntu for work and this causes me a lot of trouble), I've downloaded the
sources for Unity (I'm on Ubuntu 17.04) and modified the Launcher, so it will
wiggle urgent icons every 10 seconds, whether the Launcher is hidden or not.
Ideally, this interval should be configurable, but I haven't found yet how to
read the config info.
I would like to contribute this code if someone is interested, but I don't
know how.

For me, ideally the wiggle should last a bit longer, and the icon
should reveal completely when the Launcher is hidden, but that change
would be a bit more complicated, I assume (haven't really looked too
much into it).

[Bug 1436940] Re: Atheros wifi 168c:0041(QCA6164) is not supported

2015-12-20 Thread Martín Coll
@adamrehal

1. download the three deb packages that correspond to your architecture (the
*all* package, then *most commonly* the generic+amd64 ones)
2. open a terminal and cd to the Downloads folder
3. install the packages with dpkg (e.g. sudo dpkg -i *-4.4.0-040400rc5*.deb)
4. restart and make sure that you're using the new kernel (it's probably using
it by default, else check your bootloader config)

by the way, can anyone else confirm?

[Bug 1328065] [NEW] Gamepad not recognised in trusty

Public bug reported:

I had been using a PS3 gamepad on pcsxr (1.9.92) for a while on Ubuntu

The controller is detected by lsusb on Terminal, but it does not appear

I think this is a problem specific to trusty, since I tried to use the

My install also failed because of Ubiquity! I'll try again and look for
that skip button. After all, it was a freshly downloaded ISO and a new
virgin DVD... I don't know how that could get corrupted. Thanks!

[Bug 1208019] Re: Eclipse menus doesn't show up in Saucy

2013-10-23 Thread Luis Martín
I've upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 today and same problem. Everyone seems to fix
their problem with:
env UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= path/to/eclipse
and editing eclipse.desktop to add the same to the Exec line,
but I'm still having this issue.

Netbeans (also Java) doesn't even start. I must say that just after
upgrading Ubuntu, I tried to open Eclipse, but there was an error saying
Java was not installed. It worked perfectly in Ubuntu 13.04 though.

So I've followed the steps provided here to reinstall Java:
http://www.webupd8.org/2012/01/install-oracle-java-jdk-7-in-ubuntu-via.html
and then Eclipse starts with this annoying bug. The splash screen looks also
buggy, displaying part of it repeated just below like a pattern.

Please I need this working. Any help would be really appreciated.

2012-10-25 Thread Cleto Martín
Hi!

thanks a lot for your report. Hope to solve this issue asap.

I think it is not the right way to report issues for third party
commercial packages. Each subscription provides a support address
(supp...@canonical.com) for this kind of things. But no problem. I'll
fix it :-)

[Bug 957619] Re: apt-cdrom ignores command line options, won't access non cdrom

2012-05-05 Thread Ezequiel Martín Cámara
I had the same issue, can be fixed by creating the following file:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99iso

With the contents:

Acquire::cdrom::AutoDetect false;
Acquire::cdrom::mount /mnt;
APT::CDROM::NoMount true;

Now apt-cdrom with the above parameters works.

[Bug 11121] Re: Removable drives mount but don't appear on desktop (Hoary)

2011-11-30 Thread José Miguel Acosta Martín
I solved it by installing gnome Tweak and selecting the Desktop tab the

I have not really found an error that causes this.

The error occurred after a failure of recording on a blank disc, I could
not mount the disk again and moments later I error appeared.

[Bug 754647] Re: Having 10000+ tables on a single database crashes phpmyadmin

2011-05-30 Thread Martín Palombo
I thought this would solve the issue. But the underlying problem is
caused by the query SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM DB_NAME

Tried it in phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english

This is the trace

/usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/libraries/dbi/mysqli.dbi.lib.php (199)
/usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/libraries/database_interface.lib.php
(1186)
/usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/libraries/database_interface.lib.php
(345)
/usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/libraries/common.lib.php (720)
/usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/navigation.php (249)

On line 341 this is done

if ($table || (true === $tbl_is_group)) {
$sql = 'SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM '
   . PMA_backquote($each_database)
   .' LIKE \'' . PMA_escape_mysql_wildcards(addslashes($table)) .
'%\'';
} else {
$sql = 'SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM '
   . PMA_backquote($each_database);
}

So the SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM db is called because of the else clause,
so the query goes on to get all tables. The thing is mysql does not
support limit and offset for SHOW TABLE STATUS.

I started working on the issue but I do not have enough time right now.

I tried to emulate the show table status by changing the else clause to:
$sql = 'select * from information_schema.tables where table_schema = \''
   . $each_database . '\' LIMIT ' . $limit_count . ' OFFSET ' .
$limit_offset;

The thing is that the results need to be formatted to be compatible with
show table status results. Also it seems to be limited by the user
priviliges.

 I installed Natty (final release), and have the same problem.

 It's a good idea to report a bug in freedesktop.org?

Dunno... In debian the hardware accel works (according to glxinfo),
but is as slow as soft render...

[Bug 755791] Re: [RS690M] No 3d acceleration in Radeon X1200 with new Gallium r300 / 3d drivers in 11.04 Beta 2

2011-04-30 Thread Martín Ferrari
I have a similar issue.

I installed Natty a couple of days ago. When Unity came up, it was
sluggish and many apps crashed. I switched to classic with no effects,
and continued setting up stuff. Later I realised that hardware
acceleration was not working. I fixed it (don't remember how), and the
problems became worse.

Since my idea for this machine is to use it as a media center, I
installed many of this apps, and thought that there were buggy, as I
could only see blank screens.

Later I realised that not even glxgears works. If I disable KMS, or set
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1, they work, but so slow that the apps are
unusable.

I have already tried installing the propietary drivers, which tell me
that my card is unsupported. I installed the X edgers drivers, with no
improvement. Tried different xorg.conf tweaks that I found on the 'net,
no dice.

As most of these media apps for some reason require 3d accel (stupid
shiny effects), I need to make this work.

$ lspci |grep VGA
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS690M [Radeon X1200
Series]

$ glxinfo |grep render
direct rendering: Yes
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on ATI RS690
GL_NV_blend_square, GL_NV_conditional_render, GL_NV_light_max_exponent,

I have the same problem in an up-to-date lucid. iIf i run iwconfig as

works.

This same dongle works perfectly in Debian squeeze.

[Bug 115812] Re: wlan zd1201 not started by network manager

2011-04-28 Thread Martín Ferrari
More info,

- After network-manager touched the card I cannot configure it by hand,
it misbehaves, does not change channel automatically, gets
dissasociated,etc. I had to unplug the card and re-plug it to make it
work.

With network-manager, you can see there is no key conigured:

# iwconfig
lono wireless extensions.

eth0  no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11b  ESSID:  Nickname:zd1201
  Mode:Managed  Channel:1  Access Point: 50:67:F0:89:6A:70
  Bit Rate:11 Mb/s
  Retry   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
  Encryption key:off
  Power Management:off
  Link Quality:0/128  Signal level=25/128  Noise level:0/128
  Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
  Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0

Steps to make it work:

# service network-manager stop
network-manager stop/waiting

(unplug and replug the card)

# iwconfig wlan0 essid Tincho key x
# ip l s wlan0 up
# iwconfig
lono wireless extensions.

eth0  no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11b  ESSID:Tincho  Nickname:zd1201
  Mode:Managed  Channel:11  Access Point: 50:67:F0:89:6A:70
  Bit Rate:11 Mb/s
  Retry   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
  Encryption key:x   Security mode:open

  Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
  Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0

(Now the key is correctly set)

[Bug 754647] [NEW] Having 10000+ tables on a single database crashes phpmyadmin

2011-04-08 Thread Martín Palombo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: phpmyadmin

Description:Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS
Release:10.04

phpmyadmin: 4:3.3.2-1

3) I expected to see the table list of my database on the left navigation bar
4) After 2+min page renders without the left navigation bar

This happens because the $table_list variable of the left navigation
does not use pagination.

** Affects: phpmyadmin (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Re: [Bug 714005] Re: I don't really know
