[Bug 1915396] [NEW] /etc/lsb-release pointing to 18.04 after upgrade to 20.04
Public bug reported: Hello, I have a Dell XPS 13 7390. It came with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS installed, and then I upgraded it to 20.04 LTS (20.04.2 LTS). I was installing git-lfs now, and thanks to the script they use to determine the OS (https://packagecloud.io/install/repositories/github /git-lfs/script.deb.sh detect_os function), I have found that in the file /etc/lsb-release, it still points to 18.04. This is the current content: DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=18.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=bionic DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (beaver-three-eyed-raven X92)" Meanwhile, if I get the Ubuntu version with "lsb_release -a" command, I get: No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description:Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS Release:20.04 Codename: focal Is this normal or there were some issue during the upgrade? Is the file /etc/lsb-release deprecated? Should I fill it with the current values or may I break something? Thank you in advance! [Bug 1856708] Re: Clipboard usability issues
I'm also having this problem. Ubuntu 20.04, wine-5.0 (Ubuntu 5.0-3ubuntu1) downloaded from the official repository, Notepad++ 7.8.6. [Bug 1800858] [NEW] Ubuntu Installation crashes at grub installation
Public bug reported: I had a dual booot with Windows 10 and elementary, I also have a SSD in which windows 10 was installed and elementary was installed on a HDD. When I tried to install the new elementary distribution by erasing the partition and creating a new one for the new OS the installation program crashed at the grub installation, saying it was a fatal error, so I've decided to try with Ubuntu 18.04.1 and the same thing happens. I always select the SSD as the boot device. I've already tried to recover the boot with boot-repair but it won't work, it says it can't solve the problem and exits. [Bug 1319542] Re: Unity urgent animation needs an adjustable time length.
Since the Launcher is not usable for me for the same reasons already stated (I use Ubuntu for work and this causes me a lot of trouble), I've downloaded the sources for Unity (I'm on Ubuntu 17.04) and modified the Launcher, so it will wiggle urgent icons every 10 seconds, whether the Launcher is hidden or not. Ideally, this interval should be configurable, but I haven't found yet how to read the config info. I would like to contribute this code if someone is interested, but I don't know how. For me, ideally the wiggle should last a bit longer, and the icon should reveal completely when the Launcher is hidden, but that change would be a bit more complicated, I assume (haven't really looked too much into it). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1319542 Title: Unity urgent animation needs an adjustable time length. [Bug 1208019] Re: Eclipse menus doesn't show up in Saucy
I've upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 today and same problem. Everyone seems to fix their problem with: env UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= path/to/eclipse and editing eclipse.desktop to add the same to the Exec line, but I'm still having this issue. Netbeans (also Java) doesn't even start. I must say that just after upgrading Ubuntu, I tried to open Eclipse, but there was an error saying Java was not installed. It worked perfectly in Ubuntu 13.04 though. So I've followed the steps provided here to reinstall Java: http://www.webupd8.org/2012/01/install-oracle-java-jdk-7-in-ubuntu-via.html and then Eclipse starts with this annoying bug. The splash screen looks also buggy, displaying part of it repeated just below like a pattern. Please I need this working. [Bug 754647] Re: Having 10000+ tables on a single database crashes phpmyadmin
I thought this would solve the issue. But the underlying problem is caused by the query SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM DB_NAME Tried it in phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english This is the trace /usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/libraries/dbi/mysqli.dbi.lib.php (199) /usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/libraries/database_interface.lib.php (1186) /usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/libraries/database_interface.lib.php (345) /usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/libraries/common.lib.php (720) /usr/share/phpMyAdmin-3.4.0-rc2-english/navigation.php (249) On line 341 this is done if ($table || (true === $tbl_is_group)) { $sql = 'SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM ' . PMA_backquote($each_database) .' LIKE \'' . PMA_escape_mysql_wildcards(addslashes($table)) . '%\''; } else { $sql = 'SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM ' . PMA_backquote($each_database); } So the SHOW TABLE STATUS FROM db is called because of the else clause, so the query goes on to get all tables. The thing is mysql does not support limit and offset for SHOW TABLE STATUS. I started working on the issue but I do not have enough time right now. I tried to emulate the show table status by changing the else clause to: $sql = 'select * from information_schema.tables where table_schema = \'' . $each_database . '\' LIMIT ' . $limit_count . ' OFFSET ' . $limit_offset; The thing is that the results need to be formatted to be compatible with show table status results. [Bug 755791] Re: [RS690M] No 3d acceleration in Radeon X1200 with new Gallium r300 / 3d drivers in 11.04 Beta 2
I have a similar issue. I installed Natty a couple of days ago. When Unity came up, it was sluggish and many apps crashed. I switched to classic with no effects, and continued setting up stuff. Later I realised that hardware acceleration was not working. I fixed it (don't remember how), and the problems became worse. Since my idea for this machine is to use it as a media center, I installed many of this apps, and thought that there were buggy, as I could only see blank screens. Later I realised that not even glxgears works. If I disable KMS, or set LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1, they work, but so slow that the apps are unusable. I have already tried installing the propietary drivers, which tell me that my card is unsupported. I installed the X edgers drivers, with no improvement. Tried different xorg.conf tweaks that I found on the 'net, no dice. As most of these media apps for some reason require 3d accel (stupid shiny effects), I need to make this work. $ lspci |grep VGA 01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS690M [Radeon X1200 Series] $ glxinfo |grep render direct rendering: Yes OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on ATI RS690 GL_NV_blend_square, GL_NV_conditional_render, GL_NV_light_max_exponent, -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/755791 Title: [RS690M] No 3d acceleration in Radeon X1200 with new Gallium r300 / 3d drivers in 11.04 Beta 2 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 714005] Re: I don't really know
