This bug is reproducable.

mkdir ~/test

Open your homedir in nautilus
Switch to list view
uncollapse the test dir
notice that the contents are stuck at loading

I did have the bug, occurring when booting into the RC for the first

I am wondering, is anyone who has had this bug still able to reproduce?

[Bug 563079] Re: Eclpise freezes on startup

2010-09-25 Thread Martijn_Hoekstra
I ran into a possibly related bug.
I could work around this specific bug by renaming ~./eclipse, which didn't
help, then renaming it again, and creating a new workspace. That allowed
Eclipse to start, but after that, eclipse hung on showing suggestions.

I noticed I had two xulrunners installed, and removed the old one (1.9.1),
leaving only 1.9.2
That resolved the new issue.

[Bug 569469] Re: [lucid] program crashes when string "%s ago" is displayed

2010-04-25 Thread Martijn_Hoekstra
Sorry if I'm doing this all wrong, I'm new to Python, Ubuntu Bugfixes,
and Interface/Translation things. And this is all of the above. I
believe this is not only a valid problem, but also that the proposed
translation is better than what we have now in English.

It seems silly to pass a format parameter where you know it is 1 to
begin with, but this patch introduces a new problem: If this would be
accepted (and fixed, I'm sure I messed something up somewhere), it would
need new translations too, because now we lost the %S that broke SK_sk,
but that most other languages probably depend on.

does this produce a 'broken' upgrade, or does it fail to update

[Bug 218798] Re: in Show Progress of Single Files, scroll-bars continously reset to their default positions while files are downloading

2010-04-24 Thread Martijn_Hoekstra
reopened the bug. This is still happening. To elaborate a little, it is
impossible to scroll up, because the screen scrolls back down on each
progress change per individual file. (each % downloaded extra,
reposistion the scroll bar back to the bottom)

The expected behaviour would be to only keep the screen scrolled down if
we're already at the bottom. In any other case, don't scroll the window.

Though I have no experience in the freeze Exception process, it seems an

reasonably simple or straightforward, and pretty soon loads of people
are going to be using this feature.

I know and understand the freeze process is pretty stringent, but one
just can't expect update manager is used much before a new release.

[Bug 555860] [NEW] calculating changes takes long, with no indication

2010-04-05 Thread Martijn_Hoekstra
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Update manager starts properly, it shows the new release, and it starts
the Distribution Upgrade window. Preparing to upgrade goes well, Setting
new software channels runs till the end, and halts on "Calculating the
changes", the bar full. I ran from a terminal. The terminal output is

extracting 'lucid.tar.gz'
authenticate 'lucid.tar.gz' against 'lucid.tar.gz.gpg'
WARNING: Failed to read mirror file

And that's all. It took about 7 minutes, before the upgrade continued.
Note that there was no progress bar that showed it was waiting for
anything, leading me to first think the installation hung.

It would be better if there was either a progress bar showing progress,
or a notice that it might take a while.

[Bug 360578] [NEW] System freeze on scrolling in firefox

2009-04-13 Thread Martijn_Hoekstra
Public bug reported:

I sometimes encounter system freezes when opening a new tab in Firefox,
and then quickly using the mouse scroll wheel. I cannot reliably
reproduce this bug, but it happens regularly. It freezes to the point
where I have to powercycle the machine, that is, crtl+alt+del nor
ctl+alt+backspace is able to get it moving.

I run Ubuntu 8.10

I have no idea what other information you need, but just a guess, I
added the last 50 lines of syslog.0, kern.log.0, and Xorg.log.0

[Bug 313027] Re: MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6

2009-04-10 Thread Martijn_Hoekstra
Is it a good idea to file a bug for the below seperately?

" I knew that my card was no longer supported by fglrx in 9.04. However, I went
ahead and tried to upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04a6 anyway to see what would happen
(it was not on my main computer). The installer correctly identified that my
card was not supported by the new fglrx driver. I assumed (incorrectly!) that
it would therefore disable the fglrx driver whilst doing the upgrade and went
ahead. This left me with an unbootable computer (in graphics mode) until I ran
some command line voodoo.

Can I suggest that as a minimum that if the installer detects an
unsupported card and fglrx is being used, it refuses to go ahead with
the upgrade until the user has switched back to the ati driver.
Preferably the installer would do this.

Not being a dev, I don't how easy or possible this is, but is would save
a lot of broken upgrades. "

[Bug 71751] Re: Title bar and "history bar" inconsistency with actual folder view

2007-09-25 Thread Martijn_Hoekstra
I can reproduce with any 'up' action, also doing it just once, in a
directory that hasn't finished displaying its contents. Going up once
lets the folderview stay in the old directory.

[Bug 138443] nautilus location bar displays wrong directory up pressing up while getting files

2007-09-09 Thread Martijn_Hoekstra
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When one opens a directory with many files, it takes some time to
process all those files to display. When you click UP to go back to it's
parent directory, the large directory stays the 'active' directory on
the location bar.

Re: [Bug 63631] Re: does not connect without username

Hi Brian. To my great regret I didn't have access to my own machine for a
while, and I was forced to use (shudder) winXP. I'll get the information as
soon as I can, and reopen the bug.

Re: [Bug 63631] Re: does not connect without username

No, the remore username is identical so if I'm user bob om my local machine,
ssh hostname does not connect, but ssh [EMAIL PROTECTED] does connect.
