[Bug 214704] Re: GDM login screen too wide
Another thought about the problem - Previous to the screen being sized completely wrong (in earlier versions of Hardy), my cursor would seem to jump off to the side of the screen before becoming centered again - this happened right as gdm started up, and displayed the brownish screen, before loading the login widgets. Looking at it now, the cursor jumps to the same place, but that place is now exactly centered on the "bigger" gdm screen. I wonder if this size issue was there all along, but was being corrected for somehow? and now that correction is broken, so it never figures out the correct size? -- GDM login screen too wide https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214704 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 213872] Re: firefox 3 beta 5 not working properly w/o nvidia restricted drivers
I'm seeing one of the above problems; images are just black when i view them. Everything seems to render for me when embedded in a page, but if i "view image" and it's larger than the screen (and gets shrunk down), the shrunken image is just black. Hovering over it (and seeing the little magnifying glass), then clicking to zoom it, displays the full image, rendered correctly. Zooming back out turns it black again. I'm not on nvidia hardware; radeon x300 for me with the fglrx drivers. I haven't tried it with radeon/ati drivers, though. FF 3b5 (didn't see it at all with b4). I also don't think it's always been happening with beta5; i've only really noticed it since yesterday morning or so (april 9). I did an update around then, and it introduced a few other graphics- related problems; gdm login window being sized correctly, waking up from suspend not turning the screen on, etc. I wonder if they're related somehow? Not sure what it would be, though. [Bug 214704] [NEW] GDM login screen too wide
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm Running Hardy, I performed an update this morning, and now the GDM login screen seems to think that it's a lot bigger than it should be. The background appears stretched out, and the login stuff that should be (and used to be, until the last set of updates) centered is now showing up on the far right side of the screen, mostly cut off. The word "ubuntu" in the logo gets chopped off after about the "b". As soon as I log in, everything is sized correctly. I'm also seeing issues involving the screen when I suspend, etc, but I suspect they're not related to this. I suspect that it's something involving detecting how big the screen is. If my monitor was, maybe, twice as big as it actually is (1280x800) in both directions, it would probably fit correctly. I could imagine this being some kind of xorg configuration issue, except that everything's perfect as soon as I log in. gdm version: 2.20.5-0ubuntu2 machine: dell inspiron 6000, hardy beta, last set of updates were pulled in on april 9th. Radeon x300 card, using the fglrx drivers. As always, let me know if there are any relevant files/output that might help, and I'll post them. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- GDM login screen too wide https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214704 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 206980] Re: Laptop screen dims after several minutes of use
I'm having a similar issue - my screen dims correctly when it is idle (and doesn't dim when i am using it), but as soon as it dims, becoming active again (e.g. moving the mouse, typing, doing ..anything!) doesn't restore the screen's brightness. [Bug 194896] [NEW] When virtualbox is open, gnome copy/paste doesn't work correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose I've been running Windows XP inside of VirtualBox - installed package is version 1.5.0-dfsg2-1ubuntu3 in Gutsy. Whenever the VM is open and running, copying and pasting in Gnome seems to break - no matter what text I copy, from any application (i tried with pidgin, firefox, gnome- terminal, gedit), to any other application, it simply pastes a "ŸŸ". Closing virtualbox makes the issue disappear. The steps to reproduce are simple: open a VM in VirtualBox. Try to copy text (through Ctrl+C, a menu, anything) in another application. Try to paste it anywhere else. ** Affects: virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- When virtualbox is open, gnome copy/paste doesn't work correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194896 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 135074] Re: Wrong behavior when editing the name in the infopane
I haven't been able to reproduce the first behavior you described (with the arrows), but the second one definitely happens. To clarify: Open an instant message window with a buddy who has a buddy icon. Double-click twice on their name/alias, and it will turn to an editable text box. While it is in this state, double-click their buddy icon and a second name will appear, in the non-editing mode. I just had it freeze up sans compiz, as well. I had pidgin, thunderbird, and exaile! open, none of which were doing anything. [Bug 89060] sshfs segfaults after seemingly random amount of time
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sshfs sshfs seems to segfault after a seemingly random amount of time. Command i used to mount: sshfs 192.168.1.100:/folder/ localfolder/ -d threw in the -d to see what was happening. Aborted (core dumped) it varies in the amount of time it takes before it segfaults- sometimes almost immediately after trying to access the files in the mounted directory, i think the longest it's taken is about 3 hours.
