[Bug 546373] Re: [LUCID] CD tray close automatically after eject

2010-07-25 Thread Matt Stan
System: Ubuntu Lucid Lynx

I have 2 optical drives, a DVD read/write drive and a DVD read only
drive, both internal SATA.

The DVD R/W drive works perfectly. I have no mounting problems with
either drive.

The DVD ROM drive has the open/close problem. When I eject the drive
using it's open/close button or using the 'eject' command the drive
ejects, stays open for about 1 second, and then automatically closes
again. This only happens if there is a disk already in the drive, if it
is empty then it stays open and does not auto close.

The drive is: Samsung DVD drive model: DVD-ROM SH-D163B

udev Version: 151-12 (udev)

Thanks.

[Bug 586939] [NEW] Workspace Switcher always displays the message 'Current workspace: Desk 1' when the mouse pointer hovers over the selector box, regardless of which workspace is actually being use

2010-05-28 Thread Matt Stan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Lucid Lynx
Version: 1:2.30.0-0ubuntu1 (gnome-panel)

The Workspace Switcher applet located on the panel always displays the
following pop-up message (or is it a 'tip'): Current workspace: Desk 1

The message is displayed when the mouse pointer hovers over the
Workspace Switcher selector boxes, regardless of which workspace is
actually being used it always says Desk 1. I have 3 workspaces set,
using 3 cols and 1 row.

Note: To submit this bug I used the Terminal command 'ubuntu-bug 1731'.
1731 being the process ID for 'wnck-applet' which is the Workspace
Switcher applet. The automated bug reporting system then listed 'gnome-
panel' as the package with the bug. I am not entirely sure this is
correct, but am proceeding under the (not unreasonable) assumption that
wnck-applet is integrated into the gnome-panel package, further re-
enforced as wnck-applet does not seem to be listed in the Ubuntu
Software package manager. Apologies if this is incorrect, but I could
see no other way of reporting this bug.
