[Bug 358067] [NEW] k3b brasero fail but nautilus dvd writing works
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: k3b Hello, I'm using Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 with linux kernel server 2.6.27-11 version. My DVD Writer is an LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B DL13 (DL13 is the latest firmware..I just upgraded today). >From the various tests I did I can conclude: 1) On Windows it works no prob so the drive is not defective 2) On Linux : it works with the nautilus integrated cd writing app but if I use K3B, Brasero, Gnome Baker, etc then I get: :-[ wr...@lba=220h failed with SK=0h/ASC=00h/ACQ=02h]: Input/output error :-( write failed: Input/output error /dev/scd0: flushing cache :-[ SYNCHRONOUS FLUSH CACHE failed with SK=3h/ASC=A0h/ACQ=80h]: Input/output error and everything fails. The whole output from K3B for example is at: http://pastebin.com/mb087ff5 I have no idea how to solve this any longer and I suspect a bug in the dvd-rw tools package. [Bug 328432] Re: k3b in kubuntu 8.10 freezes at 16x and does not trottle down
A similar problem happens to me. I have an LG DVD-Writer (attached in the comment all the dmesg, etc outputs) and if I use k3b with auto speed setting then my disc gets damaged with the writer only attempting to start writing but never successfully doing it. It's like speeding up then down and so for 3-4 times before it gives an error. Manually setting the write speed to 12x makes it work. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-volume-control-pulse Hello, I just installed Intrepid on my system. Setup is as follows: Ubuntu 32bit 8.10, 4gb Ram, linux-server kernel image 2.6.27.11 (because of PAE support to see all RAM). Partitions are like this: 3aware hardware RAID card - 2 x HDD 1 TB (RAID-1 hardware); LVM on top of this for snapshot functionality Partitions: /boot LVM: / - reiserfs /home - xfs /storage - xfs swap Sound card is an old Audigy 1. Output is analog (although there is also a plug for digital). By default the volume control shows: Mic Boost (+20DB) - off Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack - on I change Mic Boost to on and Audigy Analog.. to off (otherwise I have no sound). Now if I reboot the settings are changed back to what they were before. Seems that no matter what I input there, it doesn't stay with me after the restart. Can you help ?
