[Bug 1257734] [NEW] Latest Steam update breaks wine
Public bug reported: Latest Steam update breaks wine: Steam crashes (reproducible every time). Steam built: Oct 30 2013 at 11:09:22 Steam package versions: 1383158641 / 13831586... Seems likely to be associated with report here: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=versioniId=19444 The report specifies wine 1.7.7, with patches here: http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commit/fd65b0a1c3f5f981cc110ca9e6a0edb6323e1296 The code in these patches seems to be fine to apply manually (they won't auto-patch due to the version changes, and the start point for the second is slightly changed), and compiles with no problem on my amd64 system. I've been unable to test due to wine1.4-win32 dependencies which I've not been able to resolve. Steam crash file attached. Very happy to test fix candidates. -Mike. ** Affects: wine1.4 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: Crash report from Civilization 5 running under Steam https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1257734/+attachment/3923096/+files/civilization5.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1257734 Title: Latest Steam update breaks wine To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wine1.4/+bug/1257734/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've marked #964607 as a duplicate. I believe that the problem lies in /var/lib/AccountsService/users/username file. [Bug 341094] [NEW] keyboard fails to work on boot (Dell Vostro 1510)
Public bug reported: In about 25-50% of boots, the keyboard fails to work on boot for my Dell Vostro 1510. It gets as far as asking for a password for my encrypted root partition (standard setup with cryptsetup) with the prompt Enter password:. No response from keyboard (including no LED changes on pressing Caps Lock), and progress bar continues to sweep left to right, then right to left, then left to right... This is new behaviour in jaunty: it was fine in intrepid (I never encountered this problem). This is an upgrade from intrepid, not a clean install. The rest of the time, it's fine, and I have no problems: I can enter the password (which appears starred out), and the progress bar grows from the left until gdm starts. Note that GRUB is selecting a kernel automatically, with no user interaction. I've never noticed a problem on the few occasions that I've needed to select one manually. $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) Release:9.04 $ uname -a Linux aleph 2.6.28-9-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP Sun Mar 8 02:02:39 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub (rev 0c) 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 PCI Express Root Port (rev 0c) 00:1a.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 03) 00:1a.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 (rev 03) 00:1a.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 2 (rev 03) 00:1c.3 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 4 (rev 03) 00:1c.4 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 5 (rev 03) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge (rev f3) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801HEM (ICH8M) LPC Interface Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) IDE Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA AHCI Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) SMBus Controller (rev 03) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 8400M GS (rev a1) 06:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01) 07:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. [Bug 158662] compizconfig-settings-manager causes hang
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compizconfig-settings-manager I'm running an amd64 box with an NVIDIA 8400GS on gutsy, using the nvidia-glx standard drivers (I've also tried installing the nvidia- provided ones from their website). I installed gutsy (upgrade from working feisty), and everything worked fine, with the box in compiz, etc., but after one restart (or X restart, I'm unclear which), I started getting a blank screen (or wallpaper-only) screen after gdm login (which proceeds normally). The upper and lower toolbars flash briefly, and then the wallpaper pops up, and although the mouse-pointer moves OK, there's no keyboard response (including Alt-Ctl- backspace). The machine responds fine to ssh, and I can restart X with 'sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart' - with the same result. After a great deal of investigation, it appears that I can install compiz by installing emerald, (with limited other packages) and run it with 'compiz --replace'and I get some effects, but no window decorations. Installing compizconfig-settings-manager causes the behaviour described. I was hoping to be able to run gtk-window-manager to provide some window decorations, but this appears to be provided by compiz-gnome, which has compizconfig-settings-manager as a dependency. Without compiz, the machine is virtually unusable: firefox takes ages to come up, amarok refuses to run, etc. I'm willing to do a clean gutsy install if required, but don't want to lose this behaviour if it would be helpful to the bug-fixing team to replicate it. ** Affects: compizconfig-settings-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- compizconfig-settings-manager causes hang https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158662 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 59632] Re: Evolution throws error with imap/ssl
I'd suggest that this is a fairly serious bug.
