[Bug 108756] Re: gnome-main-menu should use "Comment" fields from .desktop files instead of "GenericName"

2010-06-22 Thread Mila Kuchta
Forum thread has gone, but I think the problem is elsewhere. Maybe
Ubuntu have different policy, but "Desktop Entry Specification" states
clearly that name shall be of type "Firefox" not "Firefox Web Browser".

Delete (or edit) file ~/.local/share/gnome-main-menu/applications.xbel.

Sadly, there are so many packages using this fixed font depedency and no
standard how to handle this king of problem. Maybe dependency on
fontconfig-config would suffice as it already has OR dependency on ttf-
dejavu | ttf-bitstream-vera | ttf-freefont | gsfonts-x11. Currently I'm
using ttf-liberation which seems to me to be good candicate too.

I have the same reasons to have working PAN NAP network profile. To
connect my phone to the internet through the PC. IMHO standard NAP
interface is pan1 not pan0 but i haven't succeed nevertheless. The
problem is that documentation doesn't make clear what actual
initialization sequence is. If it uses ifup/ifdown on the demand created
interface pan1 or if it uses some NetworkManager/HAL stuff.

[Bug 172823] PAN NAP not working on Ubuntu Gutsy

2007-11-29 Thread Mila Kuchta
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bluez-utils

NAP not working on Gutsy. I've removed old configuration starting pand
server (which was not working anymore) because the new version of bluez-
utils migrated to dbus. Network service successfully started, but the
network manager probably do not assign the ip adress nor start dhcp
server (which i think is mandatory for NAP to work) and masquerading.
I've used this bnep0 interface configuration started by dev-up script:

iface bnep0 inet static
address 192.168.2.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
post-up iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.2.0/24 -j MASQUERADE
post-up /etc/init.d/dhcp3-server start
pre-down iptables -t nat -D POSTROUTING -s 192.168.2.0/24 -j MASQUERADE
pre-down /etc/init.d/dhcp3-server stop

Is this the NetworkManager responsibility, or what's wrong with bluez-
utils in Gutsy?

[Bug 152923] problem using more than one language pack

2007-10-15 Thread Mila Kuchta
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-pack-en-base

Configuring language pack package during install/upgrade (probably)
calls locale-gen with that single locale which in turn removes the other
installed and generated locales. This behaviour brokes the system and
force the administrator to run locale-gen after each install/upgrade

defered ldconfig and run it at the end of install/upgrade without locale

the correct one.

[Bug 71356] Libtool regression

2006-11-11 Thread Mila Kuchta
Public bug reported:

Libtool 1.5.22-4 doesn't behave like it's predecessors. It fails to
build libraries whose install path does not end with the same path as is
said in configure phase. I use to build packages from sources to
/usr/local, but install them to /usr/local/stow/package-version
(./configure; make install prefix=/usr/local/stow/package-version) for
the sake of being managed by the xstow package manager (or any other). I
looked through the web and it seems like upstream problem, but causing
problems edgy users.

[Bug 45548] Re: scrollkeeper-update -v error

2006-06-22 Thread Mila Kuchta
Daniel, you are right. I've made several changes and it seemed to me
that joining lines in element did the work, but it didn't. The
problem is that identifier tag is missing. The strange is that I must
run scrollkeeper-update twice to prevent it from complaining.

[Bug 50216] /usr/lib/java vs. /usr/share/java

Binary package hint: libswt3.1-gtk-java

All java packages but libswt3.1-gtk-java resides in /usr/share/java.
IMHO /usr/lib/java is better suited location but standard is better than
better (Henry Spencer) ;)
