Sadly, there are so many packages using this fixed font depedency and no standard how to handle this king of problem. Maybe dependency on fontconfig-config would suffice as it already has OR dependency on ttf- dejavu | ttf-bitstream-vera | ttf-freefont | gsfonts-x11. Public bug reported: Libtool 1.5.22-4 doesn't behave like it's predecessors. It fails to build libraries whose install path does not end with the same path as is said in configure phase. I use to build packages from sources to /usr/local, but install them to /usr/local/stow/package-version (./configure; make install prefix=/usr/local/stow/package-version) for the sake of being managed by the xstow package manager (or any other).
