[Bug 260270] Re: KDE 4.1 welcome sound on login is stopped prematurely

2008-11-02 Thread MoonRise
Updated my Desktop to Intrepid Ibex and the problem still exists. I had
HH 8.04 KDE4 Remix and it did the same. II still no fix. I even
installed kdebase just so it wouldn't report Not installed like my
Laptop above. Still didn't do the trick. Really all it added extra on
top of what Kubuntu has by default is kwrite and kappfinder. All other

[Bug 278471] Re: Screen flickers with KDE4

2008-10-11 Thread MoonRise
Well...I was able to get the Ubuntu Live-CD to flicker the same way as
Kubuntu. It doesn't do it at the 7 to 12 second frequency though. Only
when you do a certain function and that is:

Control Center -- Hardware -- Screen Resolution.

As soon as I click Screen Resolution, it flickers just like mine is
doing under Kubuntu. The only difference is that is stops once the
Screen Resolution window appears.

2008-10-10 Thread MoonRise

as duplicate and move to this one, but this bug report here sounds like
my issue. The Link -- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source

My original post:
I can verify this with my ACER 3618 laptop with 2GB RAM and the Intel GMA915. I
have tested on other machines that have the GMA3100 display card and it does
not occur with those, at least not that can be seen by the eye. Running Kubuntu
Intrepid 8.10 up to date as of 2008-10-09 8:00am EDT. The flickering occurs
between 7 and 12 seconds, does it very periodic. Why it does not affect the
GMA3100 when it is using the same driver, I'm not sure, but it could have to do
how it is connecting to the GMA915 vs GMA3100. I've read of a lot of this
problem on the Ubuntu and Kubuntu sites. I've tried Ubuntu and it does not do
this, ONLY Kubuntu.

Hmmm... I don't have this issue with XP, which is on this machine as a
chekc in see kind of thing, but I really never noticed it in BIOS
either, just when I log in to Kubuntu. When playing around with the
earlier Alpha Live CDs, I never noticed a Flicker, it has started
recently and to me severely. Is there anything I can add here to try
and find what's going on?

[Bug 217763] Re: kde4 no system notifications sound

2008-09-24 Thread MoonRise
I have something similar on an ACER Aspire 3618, 1.8GHz Pentium M 735A,
2 GB RAM Laptop. I've recently installed Intrepid Ibex (8.10) Alpha 6
on this machine and when going to Notifications and setting them for KDE
Windows Manager on Maximize, Minimize, the normal windows sounds,
these are the default sounds I'm using, No sound is heard when doing
those functions to a Window. If you get real close to the speaker you
can here a click sound as if it was trying to play. I did as above with
no change. I really don't know if this is the same as here, but it
really sounds very similar. I'm attaching my old file and new file as
done above.

[Bug 21574] Re: Only headphones work after suspend on HP nx8220

2008-02-09 Thread MoonRise
I can confirm that on 2.6.22-14 kernel that a suspend from RAM works
except for Sound. This is on a Dell Dimension 8300 w/ 2GB RAM, PIV-HT
and a SB Live sound card. The only way to rest the sound is reboot. I
did not create a new Bug report as this seemed very similar to this

[Bug 104456] Update-Manager, DistUpgrade, No prompt to upgrade

2007-04-08 Thread MoonRise
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Followed this wiki: https://wiki.kubuntu.org/KubuntuDistUpgrade
Did notice it changed from the last time I followed this for test system 1.
Followed it as written for test system 2.
All goes well except I never get the prompt that there is an upgrade to 7.04.
I receive no errors. I start update-manager from terminal and no errors there
either.
Don't really think this a bug, but could be wrong there.
