[Bug 44726] Re: lirc doesn't work
You need to compile the modules as described in /usr/share/doc/lirc- modules-source. -- lirc doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/44726 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 71214] Re: Fail to build using make-kpkg
Yes, you are right. I was using it wrong; I never had used make-kpkg before. However, according to the README in lirc-modules-source it was described to be done in this way, so I think there is some improvement possible in this package. -- Fail to build using make-kpkg https://launchpad.net/bugs/71214 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 71325] lirc-modules-source build instructions not very clear
Public bug reported: The package lirc-modules-source contains build instructions in the file /usr/src/modules/README. It is explained in this file how to build the kernel-modules using make-kpkg. However, according to other bug reports for ths package, it is easier to build the modules using module- assistent. Maybe it is an idea to describe the build process using this package. It also doesn't require a full kernel source tree, as is stated in the README. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- lirc-modules-source build instructions not very clear https://launchpad.net/bugs/71325 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 71325] Re: lirc-modules-source build instructions not very clear
Oh, I notice that I have accidently filed this bug for the wrong package. It is a bug in lirc-modules-sourc and obviously not linux- source. Sorry. ** Description changed: The package lirc-modules-source contains build instructions in the file /usr/src/modules/README. [Bug 71214] Fail to build using make-kpkg
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17 I want to compile the lirc-modules-source package, which requires a complete kernel source in /usr/src/linux. I've installed linux-source-2.6.17 and untarred the source to /usr/src/linux. However, it seems to be impossible to build the modules using make-kpkg modules_image. I get the following output: test -f .config || (echo *** Need a config file .config false) echo The UTS Release version in include/linux/version.h; echo \\ ; echo does not match current version:; echo \2.6.17.13-ubuntu1\ ; echo Please correct this.; exit 2 The UTS Release version in include/linux/version.h does not match current version: 2.6.17.13-ubuntu1 Please correct this. make: *** [modules_image] Error 2 The problem may be caused by an older version of kernel-package, and possible fixed in kernel-package 10.057 (see http://www.nabble.com/-OT-- 2.6.18-ck1-+-debian-compile-error-t2318083.html). ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Fail to build using make-kpkg https://launchpad.net/bugs/71214 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64326] Re: beagled-helper loads CPU
I can confirm this bug. I've also upgraded from 6.06 to 6.10 and installed beagle afterwards. I've also enabled xattr on the partition on which my /home is located. Beagled seems to run fine when there are not many programs running, but especially when OpenOffice.org or Eclipse (using J2SE 1.4.2, i.e. not from the Ubuntu repositories), beagled and beagled-helper consumes so much resources that my laptop becomes totally unresponsive. Only killing beagled lowers the load of the system, I've added .jar files to the list of filetypes which should not be indexed, but that doesn't seems to make any difference. -- beagled-helper loads CPU https://launchpad.net/bugs/64326 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
