[Bug 1320423] Re: Add symlink libbfd-2.24-system.so
Usually (according to semantic versioning) patch is not used for such non-obvious things. Even in such way it would be much more logical to have versioning like GNOME, they use minor odd versions for development. I just want to explain that such "magical" versioning is pretty confusing. Moreover, even minor version supposed to be backward compatible, so, symlink should work great until major version is increased. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1320423 Title: Add symlink libbfd-2.24-system.so To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binutils/+bug/1320423/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1320423] Re: Add symlink libbfd-2.24-system.so
Then versioning is broken, because version I've mentioned is 2.24.51, so, obviously it is backward compatible with any 2.24.*. And trusty does have 2.24 just like you've said. [Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10 and 14.04
Actually they live in parallel realities, so switching of layout and indicator are in sync only if you use the same layout in all windows (I don't). As for gXneur: 1) Run gXneur with gxneur -E AppIndicator Then go to settings and press "Save" to make this icon rendering engine permanent - should work fine 2) Enable manual switching on first tab of settings 3) Troubleshooting -> Tracking input -> Monitor the input Uncheck this too to avoid duplication of printed symbols and similar bugs. gXneur do not work properly, but as layout indicator it works fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1226962 Title: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10 and 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/aptana-studio-installer/+bug/1226962/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10 and 14.04
Awesome news! I found fix for this. 1) Disable of gnome control over keyboard: gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.keyboard active false 2) Set desired settings for xkb: setxkbmap -option grp:rctrl_toggle,lv3:menu_switch us,ru,ua You can add this to autostart Here I switch layout with Right Control, Menu key is used for third level of keys and I use three layouts: English, Russian and Ukrainian. One notice: keyboard indicator on panel lives in parallel reality in such setup, so I'm using gXneur to indicate current layout (only this, and disabled input monitoring, looks like gXneur is broken in Ubuntu 13.10-14.04 with GNOME and Unity) and disabled original one in keyboard settings. As the result - I have all possible shortcuts working on any layout, switching layout with one key - right ctrl (not possible otherwise in GNOME) and separate layouts per windows and keyboard indicator with gXneur. Yes, such ugly but perfectly working hacks because of "smart" decisions of GNOME developers.

[Bug 1185784] [NEW] Mupli-monitor configuration with different vertical resolution
Public bug reported: I observe this bug for a long time in all versions of Ubuntu. Bug is simple: ubuntu doesn't work correctly with 2 or more monitors that have different vertical resolution. This bug starts at login screen, where monitors works as mirrors, and ends in Unity with different bugs with background, windows position and so on. Now I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 and radeon driver. I have 2 monitors with resolution 2560x1440, they are connected to 2 video cards (tried HD5450+HD5450 and HD6570+HD5450). In this case configuration with two horizontal monitors works good enough, but when I rotate monitors - several bugs occurred at the same place: 1) It is not possible to rotate any monitor, that is connected to not primary video card (primary means installed in the first PCI-E slot), because xserver crashes, and I see login screen 2) If I rotate primary screen - I see large degradation in performance (comparing to horizontal position) 3) After reboot primary (rotated) monitor is cropped to height of horizontal monitor (and performance is the same as in horizontal position of both monitors), and only opening monitors settings window and applying current settings without any changes (after this desktop background is not displayed correctly [scale mode], but returns if choose any other displaying mode, and then switch to scale) 4) At login screen only primary monitor works and in default (unrotated) position This all was tested on Ubuntu 13.04 and 13.10 with stock and compiled by myself kernels 3.8-3.10-rc3 and with different stock and testing versions of radeon driver, mesa, and other stuff from xorg-edgers. Sorry if something is not understandable, I'm pretty sure all this is simply reproducible and can repeat any steps again with any necessary logs to solve this problem as fast as it is possible. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1185784 Title: Mupli-monitor configuration with different vertical resolution To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1185784/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 reproducible saucy third- party-packages ubuntu ** Description changed: I'm observing very frequent crashes of xorg. They starts after transition to new monitor with resolution 2560x1440 on Raring, now on Saucy they are very frequent. Mainly, occurs at usage of Resize Window compiz plugin, opening youtube video to fullscreen and opening video in vlc to fullscreen. Sometimes it resumes to work (like reloading of compiz), sometimes resumes without compiz (impossible to use after this), sometimes xorg crashes at all. [Bug 1181318] [NEW] Very frequent crash of xorg
Public bug reported: I'm observing very frequent crashes of xorg.
