[Bug 1970127] Re: Ubuntu-22.04 Live CD not booting on HP ENVY X360 notebook (Ryzen 7 3700U)

2022-04-26 Thread Nenad
In my case not even safe graphics works.

The live USB sometimes just boots, and sometimes it doesn't. More often
doesn't though.

The same happens to installed system.

Tried upgrading 20.04 to 22.04, same thing happens.

[Bug 1915538] [NEW] grub did not get installed on fresh install

2021-02-12 Thread Nenad Đapić
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu installer reported fatal error while installing grub. I was
installing ubuntu on sda7 on asus k556u laptop.

There was win10 already there on sda2, booting from sda1. It used
recovery partitions sda3 and sda4. Later one I erased and formed
extended partition sda4. On that extended partition I have created boot
partition sda5 of type fat32, swap partition at sda6 and sda7 of type
ext4 on which I attempted instalation at first attempt. It failed with
fatal error while installing grub near the end of installation.

At second attempt to install ubuntu, I did not choose to create
partitions. Instead I accepted replacing existing installation of ubuntu
on sda7, but it failed with the same grub installer fatal error.

[Bug 1815693] Re: Kubuntu 18.10 Xorg severe memory leak

2019-06-03 Thread Nenad Antic
Yesterday I upgraded to Ubuntu 19.04 and this issue seems to finally be
resolved for the configuration I described in the initial report.

Maybe others reporting here should check theirs with 19.04 as well.

According to this stackexchange thread

https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/36450/how-can-i-find-a-memory-leak-of-a-running-process/282944
Here is almost guarantee steps to find who is leaking the memory

the dumps just posted should have enough information to be able to find
the leaking code sections in Xorg.

[Bug 1815693] Re: Kubuntu 18.10 Xorg severe memory leak

2019-02-15 Thread Nenad Antic
** Description changed:

Suddenly sometimes during the past two weeks my kubuntu installation has
started to freeze up. I can't remember what apt upgrade that caused it,
and I have done several the last few days hoping for it to be resolved.

I didn't know what was causing it as I hadn't made any other changes
expect for the odd apt upgrade. Before that I had just finished a
several weeks long session of intense work around the clock without
having to reboot even once. Suddenly it is now freezing up within hours.
Even without doing anything, just leaving the computer alone. However,
yesterday I accidentally discovered that my RAM was filled up. More than
filled up, even all swap was full. And before I could close anything
  down it froze up again.

So TLDR; I have today logged the memory consumption while I was handling
some bills and linked is a log of constantly increasing Xorg memory
usage. So it goes until it chokes the machine and only a hard reboot is
  possible.

My installed RAM is 10GB. Swap is 6GB. Please refer to the linked file to see
how the Xorg usage creeps up.
  https://www.dropbox.com/s/nf1ev2dxdlc6gqw/xorg_leak.log?dl=0
+
+ I should add that this bug seems specific to Kubuntu, and (I guess)
+ associated with running under Virtualbox. I have another Ubuntu 18.04
+ (i.e. not _K_ubuntu) running on bare metal and it is not having any
+ problems.

Please advise what additional information I should post to have this
  resolved.

[Bug 1815693] [NEW] Kubuntu 18.10 Xorg severe memory leak

2019-02-12 Thread Nenad Antic
Public bug reported:

Please refer to the linked file to see
how the Xorg usage creeps up.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nf1ev2dxdl..._leak.log?dl=0

Please advise what additional information I should post to have this
resolved.

2016-08-16 Thread Nenad S
I am using Ubuntu 16.04LTS and had a similar behavior. I have External Dell
monitor and whenever I was visiting sites that has flash, or moving the windows
my monitor was flickering like crazy.
Setting the refresh rate to 60Hz made everything fine.

[Bug 1444356] Re: apparmor fails to initialise at startup

2015-11-14 Thread nenad
solved

first make directories
apparmor inside /user/share , then inside apparmor make directory hardware ,
inside directory hardware make empty files :
audio.d ,graphics.d , video.d
make empty directory debina in home folder, in debina make empty file
webbrowser-app.dirs
fix via terminal:

sudo install /usr/share/apparmor/hardware/audio.d debina/webbrowser-app.dirs
sudo install /usr/share/apparmor/hardware/graphics.d debina/webbrowser-app.dir
sudo install /usr/share/apparmor/hardware/video.d debina/webbrowser-app.dir

for me it works...godspeed...

[Bug 1310994] [NEW] cant install moodle using software center, must use moodle documentation | package moodle 2.2.6.dfsg-1 failed to install/upgrade: потпроцес инсталирао сам скрипту „pre-removal“ је

2014-04-22 Thread Nenad Đapić
Public bug reported:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -
About Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 13.04
Release:13.04
It is lubuntu variant.

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
moodle:
  Installed/Инсталирано: 2.2.6.dfsg-1
  Candidate/Кандидат:2.2.6.dfsg-1

 *** 2.2.6.dfsg-1 0
500 http://rs.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/universe i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What you expected to happen
It would be nice if instructions are codded into default installation
procedure in ubuntu software center.

4) What happened instead
Installation asked to abort when mysql option is chosen. It said that
mysql-client was not installed, maybe suggesting dependence issue? The problem
even persisted after installing mysql-client. Manual installation instructions
from http://docs.moodle.org/26/en/Step-by-step_Install_Guide_for_Ubuntu should
be followed.

[Bug 1216375] [NEW] Trovebox instead of Flick for wallpaper contest

2013-08-24 Thread Nenad Latinović
Public bug reported:

This is just an idea, which could and should be addressed. I think that
Trovebox, site actually similar to Flickr, but more open and also
sponsored by the Shuttleworth foundation (https://trovebox.com/). So
just as an idea, i think that Trovebox could be used for Ubuntu's
wallpaper contest in the future, as there could be good wallpapers from
there too, and the site could also gain popularity by directing some
traffic their way.

[Bug 815240] Re: package grub-pc 1.99~rc1-13ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: podproces installirana post-installation skripta je prijavio grešku sa statusom 2

2011-07-31 Thread Nenad Đapić
Thank you for giving me a direction. I have added missing ending double
qoute and restarted computer and it worked. Then I run command sudo
update-grub which was written at the begining of the file:

# If you change this file, run 'update-grub' afterwards to update
# /boot/grub/grub.cfg.

Then I restarted computer for the second time, but now it is frozen. On
my screen there is a warning issued by monitor that video mode is not
recomended, because it is not 1680x1050 (native mode of my lcd monitor).
I am now trying to boot live from cd...

I was following steps from the address
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows
and now everything seems to work. Grub menu looks a bit different than earlier.

Thanks again.

The Configuration Editor can also be accessed by enabling it in Applications -
it is very powerful and you can easily make a system unusable so it is hidden
by default. To enable it Right Click on Applications - Edit Menus - System
Tools and tick the box beside Configuration Editor. It will now be available
under Applications - System Tools - Configuration Editor.

In Configuration Editor - apps - gnome-power-manager - general and untick
'use_time_for_policy'

I just can't drag them wherever I click and -drag--.

I am the owner of files and have rw/x permissions. I can add them if I
click on plus sign or drag them directly from a Nautilus window.

I have installed brasero-dbgsym0.8.2-0ubuntu1 version because of the
other bug. Normal version brasero-0.8.2-0ubuntu1 (shiped with Intrepid)
also gives me the same problems. This is what I get in terminal:

(brasero:26202): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_drag_begin: assertion `targets !=
NULL' failed

(brasero:26202): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_data_full:

[Bug 292601] Re: Never resume last used project by default

2008-11-02 Thread Nenad Radulovic
I agree with you. Resume from last project is confusing and opening a
new project involves unnecessary more clicks. In this current state the
Project menu is useless.

[Bug 275086] Re: brasero crashed with SIGSEGV in brasero_project_save_project_as()

2008-11-02 Thread Nenad Radulovic
I think I was also hit by this bug. I can't save any project without a
segmentation fault.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Brasero
2. Go to 'Data project' button
3. Drag'n'drop files into window
4. Go to Project - Save As
5. Type a name for the project
6. Click 'Save' == segfault! (window disappears)

Installed brasero-0.8.2-0ubuntu1 with debuging.
