[Bug 213535] Re: gnochm - cannot read text after large images - no vertical scrollbar

2010-03-23 Thread Nick Glynn
Just been got by this myself trying to read some documents (not used CHM
before).

Has the author been contacted with regards to ongoing development? If
not i'm happy to try and get in touch but the inclusion of the package
in lucid makes me think that we're just including apps for inclusions
sake irrespective of quality/functionality.

Also this doesn't apply to just pages with images (rename bug possibly?)
but to all pages that are longer than one screen-size.

[Bug 437429] Re: No GUI to configure/disable login sound

2009-12-29 Thread Nick Glynn
I made a GUI in pyGtk that allows a couple of tweaks to be applied to
GDM2 including the disabling of the logon sound in a nice easy to use
manner. It may not be what you guys are after exactly but hey, at least
it's an option. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8518160

[Bug 464830] Re: Empathy shows a network error and not connect to hotmail.

2009-11-28 Thread Nick Glynn
I'm running the PPA and I get the same Network Error if I close
empathy and then rerun it and log back in. It only seems to occur with
one MSN account at a time.

The odd thing is that Empathy loads really quickly and gets the error
straight away when it's not working vs the stalling and full log in that
usually happens.

2009-11-27 Thread Nick Glynn
So is there no forthcoming fix for this? does anyone want to tutor me on
how to fix bugs like this as I have no problems spending some time on
this but getting to the route of the problem is quite daunting if it's
going to require some fairly esoteric kernel knowledge.

[Bug 391663] Re: 'Send To...' file transfers need a dialog to show progress and ETA

2009-10-15 Thread Nick Glynn
I've refiled the bug at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=598581 to

I don't think invalidating it here does much good when the same amount of
effort can be used to retarget the bug :(

2009-10-06 Thread Nick Glynn
From what I read in the dmesg logs it seems like pressing the physical
button causes the system to disconnect the module/hardware and from then on
it seems to get ignored (even after returning the disc tray).

Just to be sure, does the workaround of executing 'eject' in a terminal
still works fine on Karmic?

2009/10/6 executorvs executo...@gmail.com

 checked again today.

press physical eject button, tray opens, insert disc (tried blue man
group audio cd, road to perdition DVD, Red alert 2 game cd, and karmic
beta live disc from which I installed), close tray, drive spins up for a
short time, no auto prompt appears, go to computer and attempt to select
drive, dialogue appears stating no media in drive, attempt to eject at
this point using eject cdrom command in terminal and the terminal hangs,
kill the terminal and press the physical eject button and it ejects.

there is a different bug affecting many people mentioned at
 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8060118 and
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/brasero/+bug/438065
THIS IS NOT THE SAME BUG.

this has been reported on both the acer 4810 and 5810 timeline series
 laptops.

[Bug 432445] [NEW] Copying DVD over existing file causes error

3. ) When copying a DVD to an iso over an existing disc it asks once if
i'm sure I wish to overwrite the existing file, after confirming this it
spins up the disc and then gives an error about the file already
existing at which point you're returned to the New Project screen. As
an aside, after going to manually remove the ISO file to continue I
found that it had been deleted (possibly by brasero).

4.) Just overwrite the file as you've asked me and I've said it's Ok.

[Bug 391663] Re: 'Send To...' file transfers need a dialog to show progress and ETA

2009-09-09 Thread Nick Glynn
It's a shame this didn't make it as a papercut as i used the sendto for
an ISO and figure it must be something people will bump into sooner
rather than later. Even if they just copy a music directory to a thumb
drive or something 20Mb

I hope this gets fixed for Karmic! Anyone offering mentorship on it?

Re: [Bug 413580] Re: Deleting an item removes the file but triggers Missing Files

2009-08-14 Thread Nick Glynn
Please see attached.

Action taken was:
1. Restore a deleted MP3 to the ~/Music directory (a stephen fry podcast).
2. Start rhythmbox and allow the software to pick up the addition.
3. Delete the aforementioned file (again)
4. Observe that the same thing as stated in original bug report happens.
5. Remove file from Missing Files
6. Close rhythmbox

Hope it helps, feel free to strip out my list of MP3s/personal information
should it be redundant in remedying the bug.

Thanks for the report, please run rhythmbox as: rhythmbox --debug
