[Bug 1547924] Re: NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 22s! [systemd-timesyn:504]

2016-03-12 Thread Niclas Kiefer
I'm not able to reproduce this bug since a kernel update that came in
the following 2 or 3 days after the suspend hiccups. There is no problem
anymore putting my PC to standby and waking it up. Everything is running
smooth.

But thanks for pointing out that my BIOS is outdated. I wasn't aware of
this fact, so I will take a look at the BIOS update guide since I've
never updated the BIOS in Ubuntu.

[Bug 729979] Re: [nvidia] Windows appear blank white

2012-11-07 Thread Niclas Kiefer
I've read something about a new experimental driver for nvidia graphic
cards here

http://blog.sudobits.com/2012/11/07/new-nvidia-driver-for-linux-gamers/

and followed the installation instruction. Since i installed the new
experimental 310 driver. For an hour nowi have'nt seen any black or
white windows. So maybe nvidia fixed it?

[Bug 1060284] Re: [Acer Aspire 5738] suspend/resume failure

2012-10-03 Thread Niclas Kiefer
I tried to reproduce the bug by testing standby/resume on my laptop
again. The issue didn't appear the last 5 times i tested it. I didn't
boot into the previous kernel or changed anything else manually.

Just for the info, it worked out well for me, just had to install the newest
Realtek driver, following this link

Should be implemented in the next kernel

[Bug 974657] Re: Network slow on Realtek8111E/ASUS P8H61

2012-04-30 Thread Niclas Kiefer
Due to many posts around the net, the issue can be fixed by installing
the newest Realtek driver from their site. I'm not familiar with the
Linux Kernel but is it possible just to add the new drivers to the
Kernel to make it available out of the box?

These are the sites im referring too:

http://sachithdhanushka.blogspot.de/2012/04/update-realtek-ethernet-driver-ubuntu.html
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49t=80757
http://ubuntuincident.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/wired-network-speed-is-very-slow/

Didn't test it myself cause i have'nt installed Ubuntu yet because of
this network issue, but i'll give it a try in the livesystem (if this is
possible)

[Bug 945201] Re: letters and buttons not displayed correct

2012-03-03 Thread Niclas Kiefer
Right now im using the preinstalled driver. Everything works fine (and
fast), that definetely wasnt the case in 11.10. Even Gnome Shell works
fine now. When i was using the ATI driver instead everything was pretty
slow and the opposite of smooth.

Can this be fixed without installing the ATI driver ?
