[Bug 1011676] Re: empathy-chat crashed with SIGILL in JSC::Interpreter::executeCall()

2012-06-19 Thread Norbs
I think it is totally ok to have the new version installed. Ubuntu
detects that it was installed and it just wont be updated when webkit
1.8.1. eventually reaches the official repos.

I'm wondering what is commune in our install of Ubuntu, that we had this
bug, and it was not reported by anybody else. Did you upgrade from
Ubuntu 11.10? Do you use an nVidia grafical card, that is not supported?
Are you connecting from port 80 to Yahoo! on Empathy?

2012-06-18 Thread Norbs
I think you need to install this ppa
https://launchpad.net/~webkit-team/+archive/ppa
Then do an update, among which there should be the webkit 1.8.1 package too.

After a restart, this morning Empathy worked. I have no idea if the
webkit update took effect or other updates resolved it. Can anybody try
to install the webkit update, and check if they get the same result?!

[Bug 1011676] [NEW] empathy-chat crashed with SIGILL in JSC::Interpreter::executeCall()

2012-06-11 Thread Norbs
Public bug reported:

1. Start Empathy;
2. Try to initiate a conversation with one of your friends;

The chat window hangs for a few seconds than crashes. The crash can't be
reported through Bug report due to an error.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04. Empathy 3.4.2. Empathy is connected to my yahoo!
account through port 80. Other ports are blocked.

If it do appear I'll add the /run/nm-dns-dnsmasq.conf and the requested

[Bug 985575] [NEW] network-manager won't connect on startup (DNS error)

2012-04-19 Thread Norbs
Public bug reported:

When starting up my system the network manager seems to be connected to
the network, but I can't reach the internet and I can't ping any web
address.

There is a modification that i made with:

echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" | sudo tee /etc/resolv.conf > /dev/null

in an attempt to resolve the issue. This did nothing, but you may find
it in the files.

The problem is with my system, because my roommate can connect on his
Windows machine.

As a workaround I have to re enable networking or to restart my
connection (or both).

[Bug 590327] [NEW] Empathy contact messages are messed up

2010-06-06 Thread Norbs
Public bug reported:

This is a really interesting one.

1.You can see in Screenshot.png that I point to a contact who has
something like "És az Isten békessége etc." written in her status. But
the notification bubble has nothing.

2.In Screenshot-1.png you can see the result of pointing to the contact
above her and then setting the pointer back to this first contact. The
message of the second contact (e.g. "Mire lehetel képes, ha etc.") is
copied in the first contact's bubble.

This doesn't happen with each one of my contacts in the list and it's
not constrained to this one either, so it's weird.

Any ideas?

I use Empathy 2.30.1 on an Ubuntu 10.04 machine.

[Bug 565001] Re: Some of my messages are not sent on MSN protocol

2010-04-22 Thread Norbs
In my case it happens with messages composed of just 6 characters. I see no
correlation between the length of my message and this bug.
The other aspect of this is, that after the bug occurs I can't send any
messages to that contact, until I log out and in again.

This is really annoying. I've just installed aMSN because of this, but I
don't like it. So it would be nice if this one could be resolved.

[Bug 561234] Re: telepathy-butterfly crashed with TypeError in _method_reply_error()

2010-04-15 Thread Norbs
You mean something like this?

signal sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> dest=:1.184 serial=2
path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameAcquired
   string ":1.184"
method call sender=:1.184 -> dest=org.freedesktop.DBus serial=3
path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=AddMatch
   string "type='method_call'"
method call sender=:1.184 -> dest=org.freedesktop.DBus serial=4
path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=AddMatch
   string "type='method_return'"
method call sender=:1.184 -> dest=org.freedesktop.DBus serial=5
path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=AddMatch
   string "type='error'"

The error did not appear for a couple of days now. Maybe I've set it to
not to appear anymore (o.O) or it was fixed by an update.

[Bug 559279] Re: Notifications flicker and appear in wrong corner

2010-04-10 Thread Norbs
Update2:

In the previous comment I was to say:
"When two notification bubbles have to appear at the same time, the 2nd one
appears where the first one was flickering, eg. upper LEFT corner of the
screen."

Other:
The bubbles are not transparent, and have no shade effect.

[Bug 559279] [NEW] Notifications flicker and appear in wrong corner

2010-04-09 Thread Norbs
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: notify-osd

When notifications appear they do so in the upper left corner of the
screen, but just for a fraction of a second. Than they are at their
normal position.

When hovered above they are not fading, but disappearing. If the mouse
is hovered out of the area, they reappear. There is no fade either.

When changing volume the notification appears, but when the button is
repeatedly pressed bits and peaces of white pixels (I think they are
like fragments of a window opened or something, but I can't get a screen
shot, it's too quick) appear around the notification bubble.

Maybe the problem is not with the notify-osd, but xorg or other.

If I understand you right, this means you can see your own status
message, but your contacts can't see it, right?

I have this same problem on MSN and Yahoo! protocol, but nothing is
wrong with gtalk.

[Bug 554455] Re: status message does not appear when status set to busy or away

2010-04-04 Thread Norbs
I'm that friend of elodsson.

I'm using Pidgin Pidgin 2.6.6, and it still effects me.

In addition, when I become available after an automatically induced idle
status my _available_ status doesn't appear for my buddies.

Any ideas?
