Hi there,

Same model here (Dell XPS 17 9710) with Ubuntu 21.04. I see the exact
same stack trace after enabling the Nvidia drivers (replacing Nouveau)
advised for the RTX 3060 (Version: 470.57.02

Tried with versions 460 & 465: same problem.

[Bug 1878919] Re: kworker/0:1+kacpid uses 100% of one CPU core

2020-12-05 Thread Nuno Filipe Pedro Jacinto
I apologise. I didn't made the time to address this issue properly, but I
wanted to just leave some information in case it helps others.
I did several upgrades of the kernel version (up not down) without success. My
last was 5.8.13, without success.
When I was upgrading to version 20.10, I had to stop the process. This stop
left the system on an intermediate state (just in case this means something to
someone). I restart the process after but the nvidea drivers were not being
loaded (using the 5.8.13 kernel, not the one from 20.10).
Since then, the problem disapear. It has been 3 or 4 weeks whitout any issues.
I'm not saying that it's the graphic card drivers that produced the error.
Since I don't use it, I didn't try yet to fix it and I also wanted to see if it
was really gone (sometimes it happens often others ...).
Just leaving some information in case it helps.

2020-05-22 Thread Nuno Filipe Pedro Jacinto
I have the same problem on 20.04 on a ThinkPad P50.
It started when I upgrade from 19.10. It started after some time of being
running.
I did a new installation of the 20.04 and the problem persists but now only
after wake up and if I put it to sleep and wake up again it stops.

[Bug 1632495] [NEW] error storing IMAP folders: "Error moving messages: unexpected server response"

2016-10-11 Thread Nuno Ferreira
Public bug reported:

I have a single IMAP (Microsoft Exchange) account configured.

After deleting a message, when I try to select a different folderfrom
the one where I deleted the message I get the error mentioned above
"Error moving messages: unexpected server response".

If I remove the folders.db file as mentioned in some old bug reports,
and restart evolution, the error is not displayed anymore.

I have camel debug logs, please let me know if you need anything else. I
can reproduce the problem every time I try.

[Bug 1576434] Re: nvidia-361 does not work with Geforce 610M (Asus X55VD) Xenial Xerus

2016-05-18 Thread Nuno
Ubuntu 16.04 with nvidia drivers 361 and 364 are NOT working here either in a
laptop with intel and nvidia GeForce 940M.
Using either these drivers and nvidia-prime, its installs and works at first
graphical boot, after a few minutes the system freezes and only after a hard
reset the drivers don't work anymore.
Also, I only managed to get working the driver 361 with bumblebee, however
after a suspend the nvidia card cannot be used getting a error of fallen off
the bus and the message refused to change state...

In conclusion, these drivers are NOT WORKING!

I only get the system perfectly working using the 352 drivers and nvidia-prime,
the install of the 352 nvidia driver is not working through apt-get and
ppa:graphics-driver/ppa,
I had to manually download them from the site and install them manually.

Please fix these!!!
Or at least give the people the option to install the 352 drivers through the
Additional Drivers in Software and updates.

[Bug 1500094] Re: Asus UX303LB: Brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't generate evdev event

2015-09-29 Thread Nuno
echo 8 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness
-> Brightness changes
video.use_bios_initial_backlight=0 -> only applet works, fn+f5/fn+f6 not working
acpi_osi= -> neither works, fn+f5/fn+f6 or applet
video.use_native_backlight=1 -> only applet works, fn+f5/fn+f6 not working
this didn't work: /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/80-backlight.conf

It seems a problem similar to the one in

[Bug 1500094] Re: Asus UX303LB: Brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't generate evdev event

2015-09-28 Thread Nuno
The problem was not fixed after BIOS update.
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
UX303LB.206
08/24/2015

And acpi_listen still doesn't get anything when pressing fn+f5 or fn+f6.

Also, the touchpad only worked by installing
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hanipouspilot/focaltech-dkms
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install focaltech-dkms

** Description changed:

  Hello Community,

It seems brightness keys don't work with Ubuntu 15.04 for laptop Asus
  Zenbook UX303LB.

  sudo dmidecode -s bios-version
  UX303LB.203

also acpi_listen does not detect fn+f5 and fn+f6

  Please fix this.

[Bug 1450137] Re: Qt5 applications crash when switching screens

2015-08-08 Thread Nuno Carvalho
Hi Timo,

Any chance 5.4.2 is backported to vivid?
It is good that the bug is fixed on 15.10, but for the last released version
(15.04) the bug is still there.

Best regards,
Nuno Carvalho

[Bug 1471971] [NEW] qtdeclarative5-xmllistmodel-plugin is optional on kubuntu

2015-07-06 Thread Nuno Hultberg
Public bug reported:

After installing and running third part plasma-widgets ( yahoo weather
and weather widget from yr.no) on kubuntu 15.04 I get an error message
saying »module "QtQuick.XmlListModel" is not installed«. It is quite
simple to solve, but I believe it should be installed on kubuntu by
default. It should actually not only be installed on kubuntu-full, but
any plasma 5 desktop.

Kubuntu 15.04

[Bug 1455814] Re: plasma crash, black screen

2015-05-31 Thread Nuno Pinhão
I found the same behaviour. Plasma crash in different conditions (i.e.
different applications running) recovering with a black screen with just
an incomplete default panel and the cursor. I have made a new user with
a fresh configuration and after some time the same thing happens.
Removing the ~/.cache directory and killing the display manager solves
the problem but I lost all the plasma configuration.

[Bug 1376154] Re: data grid not displaying resultset is blank

2014-12-03 Thread Nuno
kwill,

I have no problem whatsoever with testing software, by the way i recommend it
by the dozen.
The problem is there was not enough testing because obviosly nobody checked to
see if SQLWB ran in 14.10. Ok, it happens, it was identified and a fix was
provided for 6.2.4 which obviously wasn't tested enough, resulting in the bug
being there after the fix.
Guess what? I had 6.2.3 and never warned me of new version, even when I
deliberately checked for new versions. I discovered 6.2.4 was launched because
went to the website looking for the release date. So, updates are also not
working right.
I came to this forum and a fix was provided via the utopic prerelease and guess
what? Didnt do jack to fix it.

I work as a developer for a living, and you can be sure that the
products I put out there for my paying customers DO HAVE bugs, but I try
to ease their pain with the software by not introducing new roadblocks.
I would never ever suggest that they download my source code and build
tools and compile the fix themselves. Thats my job.

I use and love SQLWB to do my work and right now I'm unable to use it
because of this bug, and every effort to fix it was unsucessful, and
that's why I vented before.

[Bug 1376154] Re: data grid not displaying resultset is blank

2014-12-03 Thread Nuno
Hi, by doing the command above
dpkg-query -W -f='${Package} ${Version}\n' 'mysql-workbench*'

This is what i get:

mysql-workbench
mysql-workbench-community 6.2.4-1ubu1404
mysql-workbench-data 6.1.7+dfsg-1ubuntu1
mysql-workbench-gpl
mysql-workbench-oss

Also note I am in Xubuntu 14.10.
I am here to help because SQLWB is a great tool for me as a developer, but as a
user I feel unsupported as this is a simple fix (rollback some library) and as
such should be trivial to release a new build for this instead of me (as user)
having to fiddle with utopic upgrades and synaptic and command lines. Maybe a
preferences option to check inside SQLWB for untested releases?

[Bug 1376154] Re: data grid not displaying resultset is blank

2014-12-01 Thread Nuno
Good morning

Yeah I've already done the utopic update but the behavior (no grid on
SELECT) stayed equal. This was earlier last week but i tried check for
new update now and nothing new is showing for SQLWB.

Why the f...ck do i have to download dev tools, compilers and
dependencies to do the work of the lazy asses that don't bother to build
the binaries that everyone needs?
