[Bug 377635] [NEW] dolphin and kde file dialog hang frequently under jaunty gnome
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kde When opening dolphin or trying to use the open/save file option in kde apps (kate, ksnapshot etc.) while in gnome, the app hangs for about 30-60s before opening dolphin/the dialog. This does not occur with gnome apps. This seems to appear close to the jaunty upgrade. running dolphin from the terminal gives: /usr/bin/dolphin(15248) Error in thread 140017788835664 : org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown - The name org.kde.nepomuk.services.nepomukstorage was not provided by any .service files /usr/bin/dolphin(15248) Error in thread 140017788835664 : QLocalSocket::connectToServer: Invalid name dolphin(15248) unnamed::GlobalModelContainer::init: Failed to connect to Nepomuk server via local socket /home/oren/.kde/share/apps/nepomuk/socket dolphin(15248): Attempt to use QAction close_tab with KXMLGUIFactory! dolphin(15248): Attempt to use QAction show_info_panel with KXMLGUIFactory! dolphin(15248): Attempt to use QAction show_folders_panel with KXMLGUIFactory! dolphin(15248): Attempt to use QAction show_terminal_panel with KXMLGUIFactory! dolphin(15248): Attempt to use QAction show_places_panel with KXMLGUIFactory! i tried removing the .kde directory under home, and logout-login, but that didn't work. i'll be happy to give additional debugging information. [Bug 273658] Re: sata errors and unknown controller
I guess this bug can be closed. The HD eventually failed, and may very well a hardware issue and not an ubuntu issue (or, at least, i don't have any proof that it is an ubuntu/kernel issue). [Bug 273658] [NEW] sata errors and unknown controller
Public bug reported: I did a clean install of hardy on a brnad new sata drive about 3 months ago. about two weeks ago i experienced a major slowdown and cpu hangs, and when rebooting, numerous fsck errors on both my home partition and the root one. In addition, read speed is really slow, buffered disk reads were at 4 Mb/Sec. after booting with irqpoll acpi=off noapic I get these results : /dev/sda: Timing cached reads: 1966 MB in 2.00 seconds = 983.15 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 100 MB in 4.80 seconds = 20.85 MB/sec lspci doesn't seem to identify my controller, attached. on my bios(AMI bios, an MSI P6NGM motherboard), the sata controller is enabled, and the RAID mode is set to IDE (i guess that one is the one that controls the sata, other option- ahci and raid). When i tried to set it as AHCI, hardy loaded but was pretty unusable.
